Worthy of its Michelin red guide review. I never looked at the menu--had the daily specials starter to dessert, and the recommended paired wine.
Excellent service enjoyed the meal.
Wonderful food, excellent service. Very noisy due to a large party which shortened our stay a bit. Normally, noise level is fine
This has to be one of my favorite meals of all time. We are from St. Louis, known for The Hill (condensed number of top notch Italian restaurants), Al Tiramisu blew every one of those restaurants out of the water. I started with a half order of the gnocci, it just melted in my mouth. The texture was phenomenal. Then I had the sea bass which was grilled perfectly. Not over seasoned so you got the true taste of the fish. We ended up splurging on three desserts because we couldn't decide, the passion fruit custard, frozen zabaglione and the tiramisu. All I can say, is splurge. Their desserts are out of this world.
The service was phenomenal. And the atmosphere was wonderful. I wish we were in DC longer because I would definitely go back.
the veal ragu is outstanding as is the tiramisu
My husband loves this place and we went for Father’s Day. He now agrees we do t need to go back. The food lacks flavor and at times too oily. He did get the spaghetti and meatballs which were good. Everything else from appetizers to entrees were not good.
Our favorite Italian restaurant in the DC area. The pasta is superb, the fish is fresh and delicious, the waiters very friendly and solicitous. For dessert, as you might expect, the tiramisu is the best. Although it's slightly cramped, I would say that provides an atmosphere of intimacy.
We went for my husband's birthday dinner and it was lovely. Great food and service in a very charming location. Yes the space is small, so it's probably not best for big parties but for a date night it's perfect! Had the octopus and lobster special.
All the food was excellent, and the octopus (often chewing at places) was tender and flavorful - the best I have ever had!
Al Tiramisu never disappoints. The food, staff, atmosphere, etc. are always consistently excellent and I visit the restaurant at least once if not twice every time I am in DC on business.
Great food, wonderful server and friendly customers. Will visit again when we return to Georgetown.
Our favorite cozy delicious Italian in DC.
This restaurant was a diamond find. The service is awesome. Very attentive to detail. We had the fresh catch (bronzini). The appetizers of lamb prosciutto and soft shell crabs were excellent. Finished it with of course but what else Tira-Misu. Great place to go. Fills up quick.
Fabulous food and the staff is awesome! Pasta is the best in town. I live close by and have dinner there at least 2x's month. They are very accommodating with trying to fit you in and very cognizant to not disturb or burden other dining guest with last minute diners. Recommend the Pappardelle pasta with mushroom ragu sauce-my favorite!
The chicken was subpar. Overcooked and tough. Not enough green beans on the plate. Overpriced.
Very good food and service
The atmosphere is quiet and appealing
Never disappoints. Excellent food and service
Authentic Italian food. Fine service. Cozy and elegant. Great for business or social engagements.
Excellent service, very attentive
The ambience of Al Tiamisu was just what we were looking for. The food--presentation and flavor, was suberb. Definitely will come here again.
Great experience- from start to finish. The staff were all welcoming, and our server was fantastic. The food is all made from scratch. Highly recommend!
Everything was delicious!
The restaurant was filled with happy returning customers. We have been several years in a row and appreciate the food and fun.
Overpriced, noisy and food is average. Will not return.
We enjoyed our meal thoroughly and every item we ordered was truly delicious. We had not been to this restaurant in years and now plan to return as soon as we can! The pasta with the veal ragu was outstanding and the duck breast.
We really enjoyed our dinner for 3 at Al Tiramisu. The food offered a wide variety of preparations between the salads, pastas, and entrees. We had fish and octopus, and both were done superbly. The wine list is not huge, but there are a wide range of options available in multiple price ranges.
This is real Italian food!
Best branzino in the city. Great service. Neighborhood gem and one of very top italian restaurants in DC.
One of our favorite go-to spots. Lamb is always excellent
Food was excellent but it felt like a fast food restaurant. I received both my appetizer and meal within 15 minutes of arrival no time to enjoy my glass of wine and first course. It was like the minute you sat down you where give the specials of the day and your order was taken. My thought is this is a restaurant where there should be time between courses and you are able to enjoy the food I hadn’t even finished my glass of wine when I was asked what I would like for dessert. Slow down let the customer enjoy the meal!!
As good as anyplace I've eaten in Italy. Freshest fish, homemade pasta. Service is outstanding. Small restaurant with lots of ambiance!
Excellent as usual.
We try to eat here on every trip to DC. Miss not having the mushroom risotto which was not available, but everything else continues to be excellent. As our Italian exchange student from Sardinia said, “this is the only meal that I have had in the US that tastes like home!”
This is the only restaurant we repeatedly go back in DC.
Fantastic meal as always. Delicious pasta, great burrata appetizer, fantastic dessert. As always, I will definitely come back!
The pasta was so fresh and so good! We would eat here again for sure!
Awesome as always. One of my favorite restaurants in DC.
In the last 10 years I’ve come with each Grandchild to their first DC visit at 12 years old... Al Tiramasu is always a priority...one Grandson, a very picky eater, was graced with a perfect pasta plate created by the Chef... I now make that at home for him as a huge favorite...they treat us and each guest as family...thank you..
First soft shell crabs of the year. Good selection of homemade pastas, seafood and beef. Everything was fabulous. John had the entire table laughing hysterically. The custard like desert special was outstanding. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food, nothing more to add. A non-Americanized Italian.
We had a great meal here. My husband had the lobster and pasta with red sauce. He said it was just like his family’s Christmas dinner of lobster and pasta his whole life growing up in New Jersey. It brought back wonderful memories of his Italian family. My linguine and clams was delicious. The clams were so fresh and tender. A simple dish but very well done. Just what I had wanted!
Great place near DuPont Circle. Unlike most of the places in the area, this feels like a family owned and run, classic Italian. Staff is very warm and accommodating, and food is delicious! I was lucky enough to sit outside on a warm spring night, but the interior was cozy and pretty - if a bit noisy.
