We were nearly overcome by the waitress' perfume which was a real turn off right from the beginning. Someone must have spoken to her because it was only faint the next time we encountered her.
We had the chicken piccata which we have had before, but this chicken did not taste as good as before (the sauce seemed a little different), but the chicken seemed underdone. The vegetables, potatoes and ice cream were enjoyable.

The food was very average and for some in my party it was poor but the overall service was good. What was most odd was that someone from the restaurant called a few hours before our reservation and told me that they would not be able to accommodate us because the restaurant was filled to capacity even though we had a confirmed Open Table time. This person had a very heavy accent and the conversation was most frustrating, he could not understand that I had a conformation from several days earlier. I decided to go to the restaurant anyway for our confirmed time and we were promptly seated at a table. The restaurant had many, many open tables so it is even more perplexing. between that odd call and the food quality, I would avoid this restaurant.

Linguini needed more cook time, also it was pretty salty. Risotto from the aalmon dish could use a fewmore mins as well.

The environment and service was great !
Just that the steak was not. Tasted like they boiled it, then kind put it in the pan and put some grill marks on it. The steak tasted bland.

I used to be a frequent lunch and dinner customer of Al Port but had not been there for a number of years because my job location changed. My guests suggested we go and it was as great as ever! So few things in life keep their high standards, but Al Porto did not disappoint.

Must make this a more frequent stop again.

Decided to check out this place for dine out Vancouver 2018. It is only worth it if you get the veal because then you are saving approx $8 off their dineout menu. I had the ceviche for an appie. It was fresh and refreshing. The veal was amazing. Mind you, this was my first time trying veal so I had nothing to compare it too. And the desserts were great (both the tiramisu and cheesecake). The seafood fettuccine my friend ordered was mediocre.

Simple items, like a mushroom bisque, made extraordinary. Seafood linguini with plenty of seafood and sauced wonderfully.
