Never disappoints....we are regulars to this place and the food is just so good. Linguine pescatore is to die for!!! And the pizzas out of this world....highly recommended and prized reasonably too for such fine dining experience....
Our family came here for Christmas Eve dinner - Great food, great service, great ambience!
Great place for business lunch. Food is first class, service was exceptional, I highly recommend them.
Great spot, service is always outstanding! They are following covid protocols as well! I’ll definitely be back!
Service was very good. Restaurant was not busy at all. Bit of an older interior decor. Great food. The pizza crust was amazing but needed more sauce to go with the abundance of meat.
The seafood linguine tasted amazing!!! But lacked the seafood that was listed on the menu (I.e. no salmon and only one scallop) Servers were a bit awkward, never checked in to ask us how the food was. Ambiance was lovely!
It has been a number of years since I visited Al Porto. I was not disappointed. Great food and service.
I booked a table for 7 and did not know the maximum allowed at one given table is 6. I specified this was for my birthday, I confirmed on Open Table and I still received a phone call from the restaurant to confirm my rezo.
At no point I was told we’d be sat at 2 tables, apart from each other. The only reason why I booked this restaurant was because they seemingly allowed 7 people reservations. It is absolutely not ok to sit people at two tables without giving a headsup by phone, ESPECIALLY for a birthday. I understand this is not the restaurant’s fault for the covid regulations but it’s absolutely not professional not to give a headsup.
Also food is grossly overpriced and underwhelming. Will never come back.
Excellent food. We will go back on our next visit to Vancouver
First time to this restaurant.
Was pleasantly surprised.
The menu was great and service was excellent.
You pay for what you get.
Will be back again
Very pleasant dining experience. Waiter was attentive and food was very good.
Will certainly visit again.
Always glad to be back at Al Porto Ristorante, great food, great place, amazing service!
Went here to try the Dine Out Vancouver lunch special. Staff were not aware of Dine Out special menu and suggested I try the regular lunch special which was more expensive than Dine Out online promotion and did not include dessert. The restaurant was dead, with no ambiance and was a disappointing experience. I would not go back.
Loved being back here. Service was also great!
The food was spectacularly good!!! Beautiful restaurant. Such friendly knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend this place to everyone
Birthday celebration
All around wonderful experience every time I go! Delicious food and ambience is lovely. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Must try.
Service, food quality and taste were amazing, everything was perfect, would 100% recommend and go back again.
Great service, good home style Italian food, nice rustic ambiance
Expensive for what it is. I make better bolognaise at home
Good food.. excellent service.. I can’t wait to go back again !!
Excellent! Would definitely eat here again.
Wonderful meal as always!
Lovely 👍
Better option for vegetarian. 👌Food and service was good 👍can’t wait to come out again.🤗
Perfectly prepared food in the restaurant with warm ambiance and professional waiters with excellent suggestions.. we will be back!!!
I had made a Reservation for 9:15 on Valentine’s Day. Showed up on time and the lady at the front kept moving us around to different tables. After finally being seated, 30 minutes had gone by and the server did not come by to serve us our drinks let alone take our order. Once he finally came back to take our order we waited another 45 minutes just for the server to come back again and ask us what our order was... I believe he may have misplaced our order or forgot to ring it in completely. It took them an hour to give us a glass of wine ... it does not take an hour to pour wine in a cup.Another 40 minutes had gone by and people around us had already ate and left and people who arrived after us had also been served their main courses meanwhile we still waited for ours. Every time our server came around our table, he would look at us and just turn away. We had to ask another server what was going on with our food and why our server wasn’t coming to us. This lady went to the kitchen and told us our food will be ready in 5min. We finally got our food after sitting there for 2 HOURS. The food was not worth the wait at all. The risotto tasted like water and the fettuccini was powdery. After eating our food it was almost 12am and the server had the audacity to ask us if we wanted desert..... we did not want to risk sitting there for another 2 hours for a piece of flavourless cake so we left disappointed and still hungry. I understand it was a busy night however the restaurant should’ve been prepared and our server should’ve been more accommodating. We saw many couples leave early without eating and we regret not doing the same.
I have not had such a horrible experience in a very long time. Food was decent but when you have to wait over an hour and a half for your appetizer... Don't even get me started about the entre, just embarrassing to reach the 3rd hour sitting there to not even finish my meal and leave.
Quite good. Better option for set Valentines Menu. Also, would have been nice to be told that this would be the only option for this day, as it was not communicated. Food was good!!!
We spent 2.5 hours at this restaurant and half of the time was spent just waiting for food. Several tables around us left before the food even came (they waited 1 hour). Would not come back here again.
We wait for the food almost 45 min the food was good but very slow
The wait time was crazy!! We spent 3 hrs in the restaurant for a 3 course dinner. Its valentines, u know its going to be busy so you guys need to be prepared! We could have done something else instead of waiting for our food.
The ambiance gave a warm welcome. The menu extensive and the service attentive. But the evening was affected by the poor state of the Washroom facilities.
Our server was fantastic! Food was great as always.
We chose the Dine Out menu and were extremely pleased with the appetizers (antipasto and ceviche). The entrees were nicely presented - salmon roll stuffed with scallop and prawn on risotto; veal chop with port wine reduction - and perfectly cooked. But the sides were simply steamed vegetables that didn’t compliment or enhance in any way. The truffle mashed potato served with the veal was boring - I had expected more flavour out of that but would still have preferred a roasted potato or just none at all.
Tiramisu was good. Nothing wrong with it but not stellar either.
Service was very good but there was some odd confusion after paying the bill where apparently they wanted to cancel the payment because they gave me the wrong veal chop and so wanted to change the bill. Weird. Five minutes later they said everything was okay.
The big downfall was the restaurant itself. Tables are nicely set with tablecloths but the floor looks dirty, there were cobwebs in the corners and it just gave the impression of needing a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint.
Negatives aside, I would return on a different occasion just to try the regular menu.
We used to frequent Al Porto all the time but something has changed... our Caesar salads were not fresh, lettuce was wilted and turning brown and the mushroom bisque soup was tasteless. My chicken piccata was delicious but the seafood risotto and seafood pasta was mediocre. Our waiter was great and they did comp us our dessert. We’ll probably look for another restaurant when we get together next time.
Amazing food great service cant wait to come back and try other dishes .
I ordered the ceviche, calamari, caprese salad, seafood risotto, and tiramisu. The starters were amazing! The flavours were fresh and perfectly blended. The salad was 7/10 because it was fresh but not anything special. The seafood with the risotto was cooked perfectly and made the dish worth it. But the risotto alone was meh--lacked flavour. The tiramisu was the best I've ever had. On top of the food, the service was great! Will be back!
Good food, knowledgeable waiter, casual atmosphere.
Our waiter was simply amazing even though it was New year's Eve and he was run off his feet. We had a wonderful romantic dinner and some great cocktails. The only downside was the giant private birthday party which seemed to take precedence over New year's Eve. Nonetheless we will be back.
