Awesome food. Great wine.
Always a fantastic meal - highly recommend the chicken veggie soup with tortellini to start. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the pasta is fresh and the prices are reasonable. Definitely get a reservation as they fill up quickly.
Last time at this restaurant about 2 years ago. It was much better. Had reservation for 6:30 PM, however that seemed to have no meaning as we waited to 7:00 PM to be seated. Service was fine. Staff friendly. My wife's veal and shrimp was fine. Lacking some flavor and mostly pasta and not much on the shrimp. My Veal Parm was overdone and dry. Not much flavor. Per glass wine prices on the high side for producers names. Not a memorable visit or experience this time. Most likely will not be back as their are many more better restaurants in the area.
Al Dente made for a great place to bring my gf on a date for Valentine's day. The food was excellent, reasonably priced, and our server Annessa was so nice!
I love this place. I come here probably one per month. Staff makes you feel like family, especially Angela.. We try to request her as often as we can! Love this place. Food is fantastic.
Some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Their lobster ravioli is probably the best in Boston.
Highly recommend! This bustling, cozy, authentic restaurant is our favorite stop when we're in Boston! The best Milanese in the North End and the chicken parmesan and gnocci are also amazing! It's crowded, loud, high energy and a meal that will be exactly what you hoped for when you think of authentic Italian food. Must go!
It was just great portions ,quality ,service and Value !!!
Nothing special here. Staff not very friendly. Not worth time or money go somewhere else to experience much better North end food! Pasta was not even homemade.
The food wasn’t that good compared to all the restaurants in North End. Wouldn’t recommend.
The food is so amazing that this was our second time coming here for our anniversary! I HIGHLY recommend the carbonara, and the vodka sauce is delicious...will definitely be back.
We made reservations so were seated very quickly upon arriving. I'm a vegetarian, so looking at the menu, I was happy to see quite a few vegetarian options for me. I also happened to notice that they offer gluten-free options for an additional fee. We were given bread and butter while we looked over the meal, which was tasty. The bread was cold and hard, which surprised my husband, but did not stop him from eating a ton of it.
We decided on our meals and placed our orders. To our surprise, our food was being served to us no more than 15 minutes later (possibly sooner). I ordered the pesto pasta made with the thick, homemade noodles. It was beyond delicious with the rich, creamy pesto sauce. The dish was extremely filling and the portions are generous so I ended up taking at least half of it home. My husband ordered the veal marsala, which he had never had before. He was slightly disappointed, mainly because he didn't know exactly what he was ordering. He did end up completely clearing his plate at the restaurant, so he didn't dislike his meal. Would he order veal marsala again? Probably not, but this had nothing to do with Al Dente. Once we were finished with our meals, the waitress brought us our check promptly and we took care of the bill quickly. We were in and out of the restaurant probably in the matter of an hour.
Overall, we enjoyed the food and the authentic Italian feel of the restaurant. The tables are placed pretty close together, which gives it an intimate feeling, but can also get pretty loud. We went on a Friday night around 7:30 PM, which is a very busy time for any restaurant. That being said, it was very impressive with how quickly we received our food. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and will certainly return for another delicious Italian meal in the future.
Stayed in the financial district a few days. So many Italian places to choose from. This place was quaint and adorable. I loved the food! The staff was very friendly as well.
Al Dente is my favorite restaurant in Boston's North End. The Italian food is the best, especially the lasagna. Dining area is rather small, which is why weekend nights have a small line outside. The wait staff are very personable and friendly.
Had a great dinner here! The service was very quick and menu had a big selection of food that all sounded fantastic. We had the lobster ravioli and chicken cacciatore and they were both great! Would definitely go back or recommend!
