Al Dente Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I went to Al Dente for my birthday dinner with some of my friends and we all had a great time. Everyone was talking about what a great choice of restaurant this throughout our meal. Marge, our waitress, was wonderful and attentive. The food was yummy and flavorful! I am a vegetarian and I had no issue finding food to eat. The restaurant was adorable. I will definitely be going back!
We were here with two of our friends. It was a lovely night and the food was AMAZING. I don’t normally order lasagna but because it was rated one of the best lasagnas in Boston, I took the risk. I’m so glad I did! The sauce in particular was outstanding. Our waitress was JoAnna and she was so fun and spunky. She also helped us pick a bottle of wine. If you do go, make sure to make a reservation. You won’t get in without it on a busy weekend night!
Noise deafening worst ever. Hostess unpleasant. Waitress nice. Ordered a glass of wine. Never received it. When I questioned where was my wine, the waitress stated, pleasant, I did not think you wanted it. Offered it but my meal was half finished. Tortellini over cooked. Mushy. Bread fair. Thrown on table. My husband had a shrimp and broccoli dish. Said across the street much better. Do not bother
I had the most amazing Lasagna with bolognese sauce. I tried my friends Gnocci which was delicious! We also had the special fig and goat cheese salad and a side of eggplant rollatini. We rolled out of there with happy bellies 😋 and capped it off with a shot of their special limoncello! Annette our waitress was fun and attentive!
This is our favorite North End Spot. Traditional food, great wait staff, and the food was great!
The price also very reasonable for the amount of food we had.
The chicken and Veal Marsala was fantastic. The sauce was cooked down properly. It had that nice sweet syrup wine sauce taste. The shrimp scampi and Chicken Parm was very good too.
We ordered the Bruschetta to start with and we all remarked on how fresh and juicy the tomatoes tasted along with the raw garlic. It was delicious and you definitely should get it as an app! I got the pesto sauce with homemade gnocchi and the gnocchi was so soft and you could tell it was freshly made. The pesto sauce was creamy but very flavorful. My friend got the Pumpkin ravioli - a seasonal item - and it was sweet yet had a kick to it, get it if you come this fall! My other friend got the Chicken Parm and while it was good, I think there are stronger menu Items. Lastly, we ordered a single meatball, and it was truly the best meatball i've ever tasted - Get one!!! Will be coming back! Also, the portions are pretty big and definitely a good bang for your buck.
Had an authentic feel of a family-run Italian eatery. Good food with incredible portions.
We went there for our anniversary. Had a bowl of minestrone, which could have fed a family of 4. It was excellent. Had two great pasta dishes, with wonderful meatballs and a great bottle of wine. Pricing was reasonable. Portions were insane.
The wait staff was very friendly and efficient and were plainly invested in the place.
This is very much like many North End restaurants in that it is small, crowded, and very loud. BUT, the food is AMAZING! The excellent service and delicious food more than made up for being seated 40 minutes after our reservation time. This place is wonderful and was worth the wait. Just don't go on a first date, unless you're ready for yelling across the table to hear each other. For us it was lively and fun.
The wonderful food and pleasant ambiance would make me recommend this to everyone. Though from the outside this may not look like a gem, but it was absolutely wonderful. Our waitress was great (can't remember her name sorry), the food was plentiful and delicious. Good value and big portions (possibly a little too big, but that's not a complaint). Delicious.
Loved the restaurant but the noise level was extremely loud and I found myself yelling across the table to have a conversation! Also the tables were very close together which I'm sure attributed to the volume in the restaurant!
The food was delicious and I would definitely go back! Although maybe due to the noise level I did get the wrong dinner but it was delicious!
