Al Dente - Foxwoods Resort Casino - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Our server (I think her name was Nancy) was fantastic! The food was yummy. Everyone in our party of 7 was very satisfied.
My only complaint would be that our reservation was at 8pm and we didn't get seated until 8:30. We are a laid back group so it didn't let it damper our experience. I would dine here again.
Very well prepared classic Italian cuisine. As with most "formal" restaurants at Foxwoods, pricing is higher than what you might expect to pay at a "freestanding" restaurant, but everything served was very good. We dined on a Thursday night and were able to take advantage of 1/2 priced bottles of somewhat overpriced wine.
It was a bit curious that in spite of the fact that we were one of 3 or 4 tables occupied in the entire restaurant (which unquestionably accommodates at least a couple hundred diners), we sat at our table for more than 10 minutes before our waiter came to us, and that was only after my wife made eye contact with him. That being said, from then on, the service was very accommodating and professional.
The food was very good but the service was not. The restaurant was almost empty, they only had two large tables filled with people yet we waited for ten minutes until someone came to take our drink order at which point I asked if we could get some water and it took them another 10 mins to bring our drinks, still no water so we had to ask again. That should be the very first thing that makes you feel that your table is being serviced. Otherwise it is a nice restaurant and the food was very yummy.
well we have been going tjere for 25 yearsitialian food
this resturaunt will always have special meaning.
that being said Monday night perhaps, wasntthier best night. As
I have indicated in my reveiw. No problem.
The GRAPPA was FANTASTIC..........Cant wait till the next time. Bye
The staff was very nice ,, however I had the chicken francaise and there was barely any sauce very dry ,, my husband got the steak with lobster tail ,, the steak was good but the lobster literally smelled awful ( very fishy ) was not fresh and that plate was 51$ ,,
Very unhappy with the food and service. Will not frequent this restaurant again. They were unable to assist with food allergies and unwilling to cook anything that was not already prepared from the morning, although the restaurant was quite empty. At the price of the meal, I would expect that the chef could cook a piece of chicken fresh rather than just telling you it was already prepared from the morning. After waiting approximately 20 minutes for the waiter to return to take a secondary order option of salmon, I was disappointed to have the dinner arrive that was raw in the middle. The waiter delivered each course with the apology that I couldn't eat it rather than informing me prior so I could make another choice. Very poor service and very very disappointing. Will continue to frequent David Burke and Al Strada when visiting Foxwoods.
We have eaten at Al Dente almost every visit to Foxwoods over the last 15 - 20 years, it was my Aunt's favorite place. Slowly but surely like the rest of Foxwoods, the place has gone down hill. I ordered the Penne El Forno and was served an oily, cheesy mess of pasta with sausage and eggplant that had literally run through (there was very little in the dish) all for the very reasonable (cough cough) price of $23.00. It used to be that you would get bread and excellent olive oil along with parmagianno regianno cheese - now you get dried out foccaccia bread with okay olive oil and cheese if you pay additional for it. After polling the table, the overall consensus is the meals (there were 9 of us) were okay - not one stood out! There are better dining options but beware, as I said, nothing is the same here and it shows.
Our meal was delicious and lived up to everything we had hoped. The restaurant ambience was great - quiet and cozy, with some background music going. However, our server Gary was one of the worst servers I have ever encountered. He had zero personality, was grumpy, and when we asked for something, he just grunted at us. The bus boy was more attentive and had a better personality than our waiter.
Besides the bad server, our food was fantastic and we enjoyed our meals and the company.
Everything about this dining experience was superb. My husband and I had the calamari to start which was perfectly fried and had a fabulous lemon aoli. We had the rigatoni bolognese which was about the best we ever had and the fish special with lemon risotto and grilled asparagus. Julia our server was great. They had Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc on the wine menu- my favorite! Would definitely come back when we visit Foxwoods again!
We had a 6 pm reservation and tickets for an 8pm show. We were seated at 6:20 pm only after going up to ask the hostess twice when we would be seated. We would have had plenty of time however our waitress did not appear for 15 min to take our drink order. Then drinks never came. When she finally appeared with the drinks she told us our order had been lost. We wondered how our food order would be treated. Food did not arrive until 7:20 and we had to eat quick so we could hike all the way over to the theater. This place needs to get their act together. People are not going to spend 30 dollars an entrée for a dinner they have to wolf down. I had never been to this restaurant before and will NOT be returning.
The food was delicious. We dine out a frequently and appreciate the attention to detail and passion the staff has for their patrons, the ambiance and the food. The service was excellent. The water glass was always full due to repeated attention by staff. Order was timely and food was delivered very quick. Our reservations were for 5:15 pm after an afternoon theater show.
