The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend this restaurant.
The 6oz Filet mignon was fabulous. The sides were good but cold so I wasn't happy about that. I also placed in special instructions that I was celebrating a birthday and a promotion and that I wanted a Female Server. They completely ignored all of special instructions so I wasn't happy about that but over all the food was food .aAthough i wouldn't recommend the lobster mac and cheese it was awful !
Stuck outside on front patio. Zero ambiance
We are fans of Al Bernait’s however we probably won’t eat there again on a busy night. Guests we encountered were not very considerate of wearing masks when not at their table and it was very crowded. Food and service are always great.
Food was wonderful. Napoleon provided tremendous service.
Our Waiter Jesus was excellent! The food and wine were great! Even though we’re all faced with dining out during these crazy times, Al Biernat’s made it a fun evening & experience for my Daughter’s Birthday Celebration!!
Everything was excellent, food and service was outstanding. Enjoyed the escargot and it’s presentation which was a first in this way. My guest ordered a lunch portion for the Prime Rib and received a large dinner portion of which was not expected but appreciated. I will be back with the family the next time. I already recommended this restaurant to others. Thank you.
Another great evening at Al Biernat's. Our waiter, Chris, was attentive without hovering. His recommendations were excellent and led us to try something new. He also spaced out our order so we didn't feel rushed. Our food was delicious and cooked to perfection. We also appreciated the various staff members who stopped by to inquire if we needed anything and to thank us for coming. James Gee was particularly welcoming and we enjoyed chatting and getting to know him. Al Biernat's and the entire staff never disappoint! Whether a special night out or just a casual evening with friends, Al Biernat's Oak Lawn is the place to go in Dallas.
We love this place and especially the new patio brunch. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, today we saw they just hired James! For those that know him he was the manager at Trulucks for ages. So excited to see him and ready for the personal touch he brings!
The new outdoor seating area was long over due and very comfortable adding the consistent excellent food made for a great evening. See you soon
Great new expanded patio space. The only thing better than the Chilean sea bass was the attentive service we received.
Good solid restaurant. Nothing really fancy. Good consistent food.
This is one of many times we have to Al Biernat's and we love it.
Really felt very safe and comfortable on the outdoor patio. Nice heaters for cool nights too!
My favorite restaurant in Dallas period. They always go above and beyond at Al’s. Thank you for making our anniversary celebration memorable.
Birthday. Wish the waiter would have asked what dessert we wanted for birthday. We were just given coconut cream pie.
Everything was delicious! There seemed to be a disconnect in the service area though. Two items we ordered were never delivered. Our server was very apologetic and we were compensated with desserts as well as charges removed for those items which we thought was sufficient. Our 15 year old chose this restaurant to celebrate his birthday and they made him feel very special as well with a beautifully decorated dessert. Overall a good experience, just seemed like an off night.
The atmosphere was very relaxing and nice. Unfortunately we had terrible service. Our waiter was extremely inattentive. He did not give any suggestions as to what to order. Nor did he ever check on us. And didn’t event bother to bring a dessert menu. We had to wave him down after about 30 minutes to get the check.
Al Biernet’ had fantastic ambiance, great service, the food and menu were excellent. However, I did let them know that it was my husband’s birthday on the reservation and was so disappointed that they didn’t even say something to him. They treated the occasion like it was just a date night. It made me feel very sad, and disappointed as many of the other restraints we have visited for past Borthdays made it feel like something special for him, with at least nice greetings and wishing him a happy Birthday. It truly put a damper on the whole experience.
Excellent food. Great service. Cold room.
The food, service, and ambience were all just ok during brunch. Definitely not what was expected from a high end restaurant, and based on the reviews from other diners. I may consider returning for lunch or dinner to see if that makes a difference, but no guarantees.
I didn't think Al Biernat's Oaklawn could get any better. We have enjoyed our experience there each and every time. The team that has been assembled is more like family to us. Recently, however, James Gee became part of the team. James is a fantastic add! His experience and expertise is invaluable. Excellent!
By the way, the social media posts including James and different guests along with the Al Biernat's sign in the background is favorable. Since many of us consider Al's to be our dining room away from the house, it's great to see family pictures.
Al, thank you for giving us the jewel of Al Biernet's! Thank you and Brad for putting together one of the best restaurants in the country and certainly the best in Dallas.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. And the food was amazing....the quality and portions we very much worth the money spent.
We are in the patio and witnessed too many people going in and out of the restaurant without masks.
We celebrated my son's 18th birthday here, and booked the reservation even though the only option was outdoor seating. I wasn't sure if the ambience would be the same, but we were pleasantly surprised, first with the fortune of a beautiful night, and second with a festively elegant atmosphere created by a baroque-ish fountain overflowing with splashing water from all directions. Our waiter, though clearly busy in a happening scene, managed to make us feel special by his kind attentiveness and somehow never missing a beat on whatever we needed or wanted next. Our fried calamari was excellent, as were our cocktails to start the evening. The four of us split 2 wedge salads, which provided more than enough. The wine list had an Anderson's Conn Valley for a reasonable price, our steaks were cooked and flavored perfectly, and the 3 sides were equally delicious. The night ended with a lit candle in the boys' desserts to celebrate the birthday they overheard us mention that was being celebrated. I couldn't more highly recommend a place for celebrating something special.
Al Biernat's is a special occasion restaurant and I have been there four times in the last 2 years. The escargot never fails to please and our main course - scallops and prawns were excellent - just the right doneness. That being said, it was SO NOISY in there that the dining experience was greatly impacted. Next time, I will request a table on the patio or in the narrow room (enclosed porch?) The service also seemed to be lacking this time around. We sat for quite a while before drinks arrived and no one checked to see how everything was. Tables were cleared promptly. For the cost, I expect a little bit more.
buffalo steak isn't as good as a Y.O. steakhouse, the calamari isn't good as trulucks and the Moscow mule isn't good as the parliament
very special birthday dining experience, free desert too!
Top quality place
We have a fun group of dining friends that love to get together and celebrate at nice restaurants. We typically follow Maitra’D James William Gee around town, and when we heard he was now Al Biernats, we had to try it. It did not disappoint. He knows everyone, and everyone seems to know him, so it’s always a fun time. My gf and I actually had our first date at a James Gee restaurant and we are still going strong. So perhaps he is also a good luck charm. We had the Wagyu Steak and Sea Bass which were unbelievable. Mushrooms, Lobster Mac and Cheese and amazing bread assortment. Fresh drinks, we got to meet Steve, Al Biernat, and the greatest server ever (known him for 10
Years now) Glenn.
Thanks for a wonderful time James and team.
If you have yet to dine at the new look patio at Al Bearcats you don't know what you are missing. If you have not dined there you are missing out! They have always been none for a great steak and high end atmosphere with exceptional service. They have long time staff that treat you like a million dollars whether you have it or not. Now they have added one of the best patio brunches in Dallas! The pancakes are literally to die for, great chicken and waffles, tons of vegan dishes(not my choicd) but available. Great music playing and beautiful ambiance! Both you and your mouth can have a party!
First of all the service is excellent. All of the staff is so friendly and welcoming. We were there for Brunch to celebrate my daughter's birthday and they were so attentive and made it a celebration. The food is always excellent, cooked perfectly. They are always willing to make accommodations with their menu to get you exactly what you want. Love going there for special times. Jesus is great, as well as, the rest of the wait staff.
Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive to us.
The snapper special was disappointing and the drinks over priced
Al Biernat’s never fails to exceed expectations. Simply superb, as always.
The best food & service!
Had a lovely evening on the expanded outdoor patio. Al Biernat's still delivers high quality and consistency even during covid.
Al Biernat's was a perfect experience for our anniversary. They treated us like royalty and our server was absolutely excellent. The food met all our expectations and beyond. I would not hesitate to go there for any type of event. Entertainment wise..... people watching was top notch.
The food was great. We had the shrimp tempura, wedge salad, and sea bass with risotto. It was all delicious!
