Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab House - Dallas Uptown
Four girlfriends met for our holiday get-together. Service was good and server very nice but too much time between arrival and first contact by waiter. He may have been busy. It got very noisy so we had trouble hearing each other, so just be aware. My chicken piccata was great with leftovers.
We are new to the DFW area. I am a foodie and love fine dining. We have been some of the best five star/ Michelin Restaurants both Domestic and International. We surprised my sister with a birthday brunch and it was delightful. Our server Pierce was the best. He was knowledgeable about the menu and ready to accommodate our requests where possible. The only downside on the food was the waffle my sister ordered as a side was it arrived cold and when returned it was too thick and tough. Otherwise everything else was very very good. I had the Chilean Seabass....WOW.
I told my sister we MUST now return for dinner to experience the extensive menu Al Biernet offers, which looks wonderful. I will, however, ask to sit with Pierce.
Arrived 15 minutes early and was seated promptly. The service was great. Drinks from the bar were perfect. The cream corn was not "creamy as usual". The lobster (small) tail was good, drawn butter just "warm". The steak was cooked perfect. The atmosphere was energetic. It is a 5 star restaurant, but was not as good as it has been on previous visits.
My wife and I had a wonderful time, the wait staff in the bar and in the restaurant area were exceptional. The management acknowledge our anniversary and we had a lovely evening. Al Biernat's is my wife's favorite restaurant.
Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Al and his team provide a top 3 dining experience in the DFW area every time!
My daughter and I took my wife to Al Biernat’s to celebrate her birthday. We had great calamari and oysters Rockefeller for our appetizers. We shared the 32 oz. tomahawk ribeye with au gratin potatoes and creamed corn for our entrees. Our meal was awesome!
Great drinks and great service too!
Good place to enjoy some quality time with friends and family. Food was good although one of our orders was messed up but corrected promptly. We would go again.
Always and will be my favorite. Great food and Great service. Perfect location. Great drinks.
Our first year wedding anniversary was so wonderful while there! And as usual, Al knocked it out of the park with the food!!
My wife and I made reservations for our anniversary and enjoyed everything. We requested a booth on our reservation which was more intimate and made it that much more special. The service was great as expected and the food was mouth watering perfect.
Very enjoyable evening. The restaurant was busy, but not loud. We were able to carry on a conversation and be heard easily. Our meals and the attention we received were excellent!
Been here many many times and it’s always excellent although we would never order the Caesar salad again as it was bland to the point we could not eat it. Lack of dressing,
Everything was simply amazing
Beyond excellent as usual! Great service, food, drinks, and atmosphere. #1 in Dallas 🦅
Food is always excellent and service as well. I consider it the best restaurant in Dallas for overall food and service.
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend this restaurant.
We had Chowder, Wedge Salad, Special Chicken & Asparagus. ALL DELICIOUS! Service is always excellent!
The $60 steak was very average, with very little crust. Everything (except the coconut cream pie, that was excellent) else was just so ho hum. $300 for two? nah. Too many other options in the city that are way better, and are more affordable. $300 should be an amazing experience, not average food at best with dirty plates, chipped cocktail glasses, and "a margarita" as the only suggestion for a tequila drink. Dallas has moved beyond the old fashioned, over-values, steakhouse experience.
For the price, the quality of the steak and the service was ok at best. My bone in filet was way overcooked. My guess is that they fired it too early and then it sat and cooked in the warmer. This was due (likely) to them trying to turn the table over quickly. I was in a business meeting so we were taking our time between courses but service felt rushed. This was reflected in the food. I did not complain or return the steak because (a) that is not typically my way as I am against wasting food and (b) I was with a business associate and I find returning food to be tacky. In any case, for the "stature" and price of the food, I would expect better and have had better at many other high-end steak houses across the country.
Great service and great food. Two obnoxious tables (large parties) were the only distractions and that is not the fault of the staff.
as always a great place to eat, enjoy and entertain
We went here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was so crowded and loud. The service was rather slow and the steak was over cooked. The sides and appetizers were very tasty though. Not sure if I would go back.
Everything was delicious! Good service. Fun atmosphere for a birthday celebration
Al Biernat's really should be a Michelin-ranked restaurant. The ambiance, the food, and the service are spot on. If you have around $100 (and that is without alcohol) to spend per person, and want a fun, fine dining experience, try this restaurant. The steaks are grass fed, and cooked to perfection. All of the seafood is so good and seasoned to perfection. I will be back.
This was our first time at Al Biernat's. The restaurant was packed the whole time we were there which made the noise level very high. The food was impeccable. We will return but maybe not on a night they are so busy as the noise level made it hard to have a conversation where you could hear others at the table.
Great as always. Very consistent. Delicious NY strip and sides.
As expected, good experience. Wait serve got a little confused serving a large group.
We celebrated our anniversary and both ordered steak. They did not arrive to the temperature ordered. We did not mention this but had to get a replacement order of fries since they arrived only luke warm. Overall the service was excellent and the sommelier was great as well as the ambience. But when you are a steak house at this price level, cooking the meat to temperature should be a given.
We received dessert on the house and had a great anniversary.
Food was delicious and service was excellent.
I’ve had the chicken fried chicken at the North location. It was fabulous! This time, we went to the South location. The same chicken fried chicken was bland and and not flavorful. My mother enjoyed the Sea bass very much.
The brunch here was AMAZING! Don’t let the prices keep you astray, it’s worth every penny and you will leave full and with leftovers for sure... our waiter was a little neglectful when we first were seated, however he was apologetic and attentive afterwards. I’ll definitely be back and would love to try them out for dinner
Overpriced for very poor service and my expensive steak being cold when it came out. Too much hype...not enough value. Made a reservation a week before then got put into a corner of the bar area and forgotten. Not good
Food and Service high class, but what you call energetic noise level closer to obnoxious noise level. My only complaint is noise level.
Simply my favorite restaurant in the world. Any way you can cut diwn the noise level?
We enjoyed our evening dining experience thank you
Excellent menu with many options. Great wine list and service.
Had a reservation for 8:00 but didn't sit until 8:25 - had to stand in packed bar area for 25 mins. Also, my girl had Octopus for $75, and it came with 3 mini bites of Octopus - all cauliflower and potatoes - should have been an appetizer for $20...not entrée for $75 - bad value.
Spinalis is the best steak ever!
Too loud and wAter leak in back section if restaurant made for a smelly ambience. Staff tried to fix but stopped short if offering us a new table.
