Always a great time at Al’s. Best in town!
Steak is excellent as usual and service is top notch too.
Love this place! We never get tired of dining at Al Biernats. The food is always good and the service is outstanding!
We were overcharged for drinks and took a long time to get a corrected receipt.
Also, was wife's birthday which they acknowledged when we checked in but (unlike past times) where was no special desert. We even ordered one.
We sat on enclosed patio and think we may of had a waiter in training. Service was not attentive as past.
melt in your mouth steaks. Enough said. Sides were wonderful and the Pecan Pie for dessert was perfect
Was everything I hoped for from the reviews. Food is out of this world so perfectly cooked. Made for a really special night with a dear friend.
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend this restaurant.
It was our first time here and it was fantastic! The food and the service were exceptional, and we will definitely ask for Brian again; he was great and made my wife’s 50th birthday an exceptional experience.
Always special to dine at Biernat’s. We live the back room where it’s quieter. The filet is exquisite! Next time we go, we’ll ask for more time between cocktails and dinner. We were seated, served and finished in just a little over an hour. Felt a little rushed.
Loved it! Best meal in awhile
We always have good luck here at Al Biernat's. We had a work group of 12 on a Wednesday night and received a wonderful table in the back room. Actually, originally I made the reservation for 10 and at the last minute changed to 12, which Al Biernat's happily obliged and was able to make the change. The service was good, but we've had better service with a smaller group - not necessarily the servers problem. The appetizers were delicious, we got the tuna poke, the calamari and the tenderloin tartar. The meals were great, with only one steak being underdone. The server was quick to take it back and it came back out quickly and was perfect. I enjoyed the tuna (which is always scrumptious). Cocktails and wines were great as well. We love coming here with many considering it the best steakhouse that we have been to in Dallas!
I drive from Plano to Oak Lawn for lunch and happy hour. Yes, I am aware there is an Addison location now, but this has been a favorite spot of mine for many years. If you like VIP treatment, this is the place to come. Varied menu, including vegan, but I tend to order the two most pedestrian, but delicious, menu offerings....the meatloaf with mash and haricot verts with red wine reduction, or the meatloaf sandwich each @ $16 at lunch. Ask for Sean; his service is the ghosting kind...he appears out of nowhere when you need him; otherwise, you hardly notice him. Ashley and Reuben pour worthy cocktails at the bar. Plus they are affable and attentive. Charming little bar draws all ages and income levels. You won't get bored there!
Had a business dinner here this week..very friendly staff and excellent food!!
Amazing! First time eating there and everything was as perfect as I had heard!
We were highly impressed with the staff From valet to steward. Thank you for a great moment. The table was not ideal but we made it work. Also, the music was a bit inappropriate.
The food was delicious and fantastic. Beautiful steaks and sides. Completely unsure why we go to Morton’s.
I will definitely go back again.
Awesome dinner. Service and food was outstanding!
Excellent in every way
Chris our server was superb
Food was outstanding
Always good service, good food and good vibe.
We always bring out-of-towners here for dinner because we know it will not disappoint.
Expansive menu, something for everyone.
Food was excellent, but service was below par. Server seemed to be a bit disengaged which struck us as odd because the restaurant was not busy for a Saturday night. Ordered steaks (which were prepared perfectly) and lobster bisque, risotto, brussel sprouts, cream corn and French green beans (all also perfect, but were brought about 5 minutes after the entrees were served making the dinner seem awkward). One of our favorite places to eat in Dallas, so definitely will be back but hope to have better service next time.
Biggest downfall to Al’s are actually the patrons. Obviously not everyone, but it tends to be a very pretentious crowd. But if you can manage to wade through all of that, you will find some of the best service and food Dallas has to offer.
My husband and I have been at this restaurant one time and we really like it, so we invited our friends for dinner and the service was terrible. They bring my husband the wrong salad, they take forever to bring us water and the waiter hardly ever came back to check on us. We will go back again as we really like the food from this place, and hopefully the service will be better next time.
A Dallas landmark restaurant. All the food was great but the coconut pie was outstanding!
We had help choosing a wine and the waiter who is also a Sommelier was incredibly helpful. Food was wonderful as always and the waiter was so accommodating with our requested modifications to our meals. Al Biernat’s is always a five-star experience. We cannot wait for our next meal with them!
Is it just me or is Al's slipping? I love the shrimp and scallops and have eaten them for years. The presentation has definitely changed since the last time that I had it. (We only go down there two or three times a year because there are plenty of good places closer to us in Far North Dallas.) The coconut rice has changed and it just was not right. Previously the shrimp and scallops were over the rice with the sauce over everything and it all blended so well. This time the rice was sort of on the side and it just did not taste the same as I remembered it. Also I think the portion size has slipped over the years. Two shrimp and three scallops on a $42 plate is not impressive. My wife's filet was just fine. It looked lonely on the plate with perhaps a dollop of sweet potato with it. We think they have dropped a salad from the menu also. The ones offered just did not impress us. So she went with the filet and a baked potato which was a monster and done properly. I wish more people would offer a 6 ounce filet for us older people who simply want smaller portions. The 6 is more than enough for my wife. Service was up to the normal standard which is outstanding. Just seems like the house is slipping a little.
The restaurant was too small for the crowd. The area were we sat was uncomfortable and people squeezed, slide through all night. The food was great but i was unable to really enjoy.
Same gods service as any day
Wonderful waitress was glad to have a booth by the kitchen. I would have been upset to have a two top by the make shift walls. My evening was fantastic great food and great service one hour in and out like it that way. Never rushed.
Al Biernat has the best food, service, atmosphere in the Metroplex. You’re always warmly welcomed and seated on time. My booth request was honored and we enjoyed a drink at the bar which has excellent mixologists. Highly recommended!
We love Al’s and definitely go more than the special occasion. They make the best dirty martinis, I love the waitstaff and the foods.
Excellent atmosphere and food. Great choice for my daughters birthday.
Great food. Great service. Always dependable. The Sunday brunch is outstanding.
Had reservations and were promptly seated. Topnotch service and good food. Waygu was not tender. First time to have anything less than an excellent steak here. Would still recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I really like the fact that they have a vegan menu. Now it is easier for vegans to join their steak loving friends and family for a fancy meal out. I hope to see more restaurants adding this easy option.
My wife, college-age daughters and I dined here on December 29. We are new to Dallas and had to find a substitute for our usual Christmas week meal at Peter Luger in Brooklyn.
We were thrilled with Biernat's.
The steak was fabulous--prepared exactly to specifications. Appetizers and desserts were terrific.
There is a very positive level of eneregy throughout the room.
Equally special were the knowledgeable and very engaged servers [hats off to Jeff] and the warm greetings from the people running the room. They are true professionals.
I was very disappointed. The waiter couldn’t be bothered with us; left us for 30 minutes without coming by while we watched him dote over other larger tables. It was so loud we could barely hear each other across the table. The appetizer of duck-rabbit sausage was bland and excessively fatty. The sides, steak and drinks were delicious; but at this price, I expect it all to be great. I’ll stick with Bob’s next time.
Food was good, but got seated horribly. I wrote on my reservation that this was for a birthday dinner, so they brought out complimentary desert, but they sat us in the worst possible place. We were right next to the kitchen and servers kept running into us, food trays nearly hit us in the face, and we could see and hear the employee drama. Not something you would want to deal with when you're paying $60+ a person and expecting a romantic dinner for two.
Always outstanding especially for special occasions!
