Amazing food. Excellent service and the seating is perfect.
It had been awhile since I was here so I wasn't sure what to expect. The food was as good as I remembered it so no disappointment there. The décor had been updated but lost a bit of its charm and authenticity. Overall, still a great place for Indian food in a conveniently located area.
Food is super tasty. being a vegetarian, my favorite dishes are Mushroom achari and Malai Kofta. Ambience is amazing and so is the staff.
Not worth $200 for a buffet. The food was cold and not tasty.
Booked Akbar Restaurant for a graduation dinner that grew from a party of 8 to a party of 13. Table was ready as soon as we arrived and the service was great. Everyone loved the items on the dinner buffet and enjoyed trying various dishes. We did order one fish dish off the menu as that was the only item not available on the buffet. I would definitely go again when in the area.
Consistently good Indian food!
Came here on whim Sunday and had buffet, which was nice. To be honest, individually prepared food would probably be a bit better, but the buffet was very good, and a bargain indeed. Opulent surroundins and gracious staff. Will be back
This is the BEST Indian restaurant in Long Island. There actually isn’t even a competition. I have been going to Akbar since the 90s and it has never failed me and has always been consistently great. The Palak Paneer is heavenly. The service is excellent. Don’t bother going anywhere else—go here!!
We had an issue with the Lamb and Goat stew , the meat was very dry, just could not eat it. However, our waiter gracefully remove the item from our table.
We arrived on a rainy, damp Sunday evening. The restaurant had a buffet featuring some of the best of Northern Indian cuisine. The managers were gracious to change our reservation at the last minute. The food was excellent and considering that we could get as much as we wanted worth the price of $21 per person. There were many families dining on this evening and the overall atmosphere was relaxed, comfortable, and warm. There was no rush to get out. Overall, the staff was friendly and I would definitely recommend it.
I have been going to Akbar for over 15 years. The recent renovation really opens up the space. Great food and great service as always. We went during the weekend were there was a buffet that included pani puri, dosa station, and the traditional veg and non-veg options. Thanks again for the great service.
Wonderful food, attentive staff and not a lot of noise! Highly recommend
One of the best Indian restaurants in Westbury. Never disappointments. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. We were surprised by the Sunday buffet that was being served. We got a Taste of India! The wait staff was very helpful and friendly. The ambience was great. Everyone eating was enjoying themselves. The food was hot and tasty. The fruit juice was delicious.
Dated place. Have had much better indian food in other locations of long island. kind of a waste of a valentines day.
Friendly staff, delicious food and wonderful service
Its 3rd time visiting here with friends and family. Waiters are always in rush even cant take order properly. Never come to ask for any other order always have to look for someone.
The atmosphere is so good and comfortable. Not a lots of choice for food but food test is perfect. Will recommended to friends.
Great service and good company.
Everyone from waiter to Manager and Owner are friendly and attentive. Food and service are the best in town.
Amazing and authentic Indian food! Great service!!!
Visited during restaurant week. They feed you like a king. Small plates but big portions. Cozy place. Will return.
We were a party of 10. Would of appreciated the heads up that they auto service charge on larger parties. I was able to reverse the second larger tip on the tip.
Disappointed. Restaurant seemed more interested in proving buffet than restaurant week menu. Menu very limited and a poor choice that did not highlight the cuisine well. The food presented was "boring", which is not what I would normally call Indian cuisine. Service was slow, food: eh!
We were very much looking forward to an enjoyable dinner at Akbar especially since we hadn’t been there for quite some time. There was a private party going on while we were there and that may’ve been the reason why our dinner wasn’t so terrific.
We were given a lovely table and enjoyed the ambiance very much but unfortunately we couldn’t say the same about the meal.
The chicken tikka Masala was horrible- and the small scoop of tasteless rice and salad dished out on this circular metal serving piece was not appealing. The onion kulcha was ok and the tandoori chicken was just ok. The waiter never came over to ask how everything was. The best part was the mango lassi. Sorry but not impressed and won’t be going back.
Delightful experience, as always. Good way to recap the year. Never disappoints...food, service and value.
Great. Food and service were excellent
Great food, great service always! Food is always fresh and waiters are friendly and attentive.
we had a lovely, delicious dinner at Akbar. We will definitely return
My wife and I dine at Akbar Restaurant as often as possible. We have never been disappointed with the food, service or prices. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian cuisine.
A waste of time and money. This place hardly matches what you can get any Indian restaurant on LI for the price.
Super food. The crispy cauliflower appettiser was heavenly. Very nice atmosphere/decor. Staff were attentive but not intusive. Don't listen to the negative reviews. This place is great.
Excellent service. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing food.
Food was excellent, but slightly pricey. Overall, good experience.
I have never had Indian food before so my fiancé suggested we try the buffet at Akbar Restaurant so I can sample different items. It was amazing. The food is delicious and the staff wonderful. We had a great time and plan to go back often
Always a great place for dinner. Excellent for vegetarians.
We have been here many times before for dinner and a celebration. This time, the smoke alarm went off, due to Tandori oven smoking & poor veneration in the kitchen. As the lights flashed , alarm blared, plus drums banging outside awaiting the groom , made dining less comfortable. Wait staff apologized for the smoke and noise, but should have compensated us in some way! Good food though!
Delicious Indian food, good vegetarian options. Wait staff very nice. A bit pricey
Excellent Ambience, gr8 food. I am very picky when it comes to indian food and I did have any complain. The lamb Chops are excellent!!!! Must ry for everyone. The Sag was amazing.
Great staff. Excellent Buffet. Family friendly atmosphere.
