Unfortunately, this lovely spot has closed and this was our last meal there. The place became a favorite, not for proximity, but also the excellent food and wonderful staff. We will be following Chris and Christian to where ever they next land. We wish them the best and hope to see them soon!

The white wine sauce with my mussels was excellent, just excellent. Very good fries, an item more important and hard to find than you would think. They do French very well. Miso soup was solid, but not something you go there for. Pork dumplings were tasty and notable. Had the mousse for dessert, so good. You can bring your reasonably behaved children there, they will be welcome as there and you will all eat well. We went for my hubby's birthday dinner as a brunch since that's when we had a sitter. It was less formal than I would have liked for that, but for what it actually is, it does a great job.

After arriving at 7:30, it took quite a while to have someone take a drink order. At that time we were told specials and informed of a number of menu dishes they had run out of, steak tartar...
Then after a long wait to get our drinks, we ordered; also informed they only had one chicken (another regular menu dish).

Waitress came back to inform us they had run out of Beet Salad (A Special). We asked to see manager, asked why they were running out of so many items and instead of apologizing and trying to make things right, he argued with us. I understand limited amount of specials, but not limited amount of menu items.

Great chicken Dish. Mussels too salty but still Delish Creme brûlée excellent. Slow Service, tables that arrived after us were done before we got our meals.

The problem we encountered was not only was the mushroom soup cold( the bowl was warm; the soup cold) but one main course was also not hot. The service was good.
We were disappointed.

My group had a wonderful time at the bar and really enjoyed both the meal and the ambiance. My seafood risotto was phenomenal!

We really enjoyed the specialty cocktails and the bartender was very quick to recommend something based on what each of us liked/disliked. The food came quickly and the wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. We had mousse au chocolat and creme brullee and they were both heavenly! All in all we had a great time!

We've eaten here before, but more for brunch, and quite some time ago, and it was lovely.

Sad to say, dinner didn't deliver the same experience. Two of us for dinner, started with soup. I ordered the special (butternut/miso soup), and was a bit disappointed when a different soup was delivered. Seemed the waitstaff was not aware of the chef's change. Server was concerned & sweet to remove it from the bill as it was barely warm, not very good, and not what I ordered. Husband's regular miso soup seemed to be quite nice and the highlight of the meal. Main courses were brought out (steak frites and short rib over ramen). Steak was a bit over cooked, fries were a bit greasy according to my husband. Short rib over ramen sounded good, but was very heavy and had a bit of an odd taste to it. My husband asked to take the steak home (still good for sandwiches!) and indicated it was overcooked. The wait staff then proceeded to cut into the steak themselves to check the steak - as if they didn't believe us! Given the check was close to $100 for 2 people (1 starter, 2 mains, 2 drinks), the value for the experience was quite disappointing.

It was my husband's birthday so we decided to splurge and do the chef's tasting. In the 5 course tasting we saw brussels sprout chips twice, white asparagus twice and a green goddess sauce twice. I have had several chef's tastings before and have never seen a single ingredient repeated, let alone three. This, by itself, was enough to have warranted a bad review but then the "pork 2 ways" dish had pork loin and pork belly that was so overcooked and dried out that it required vigorous sawing with a steak knife to cut through. Our LOVELY waitress did have the dish replaced but no manager/chef ever came over to check in/apologize. There was not a single bite of this meal that was spectacular but some of it was good. Definitely not worth the almost $200 we spent there total!

They didn't have a few of the main entrees available, which was a big disappointment for my wife. Especially since we don't get out as much with kids now. Also, the food was good, but it wasn't great where it justified the increase prices they charge.

The service was very good, and they were very kind and checked on us. Nice place, but you can probably find a lot better options for what it cost, and likely better food.

Second time going to AKA Bistro on Valentines day so the menu is limited to a five course meal. But the food is excellent! The pacing of the five courses was spot on, and the drinks were great. The service was friendly and quick but seemed haphazard with many different servers working the table which led to a little confusion but nothing that disturbed the meal.

Always a great place for Valentines day.

wait between dinner courses was surprisingly long considering that AKA was serving a valentines day price fixed menu. 2 options for the starter & 2 options for the main.
they had also run out of the special fish listed on the menu and were substituting another lesser grade swordfish. also surprising considering that we had a 6pm reservation and they had just opened at 5 for dinner. dessert course was also disappointing.
we expected to be wowed by quality of the food and the service considering that this was not an inexpensive meal.

For $203, i got a 5 course meal for 2. The service was horrible and the food was okay at best. Not worth 100 and defiantly not worth $200. Boston has way better restaurants and better prices. It is very obvious from the lack of customers that others felt the same way. This place will likely close down unless they can reorganize the menu and prices. Good luck.

First off, we do like this place. It's consistently interesting and often very good. But we booked a table for the night BEFORE Valentine's Day because we wanted the full menu, not the prix fixe menu advertised on their website for V-Day. Guess what? When we arrived, we discovered that they were serving that menu both nights, so we were stuck. Most of the choices were acceptable to us; however, the couple next to us ate fish, but not meat, so they weren't too happy about their lack of choice. We didn't love the main course choices (the Hawaiian Opa I ordered was really fishy) but the starter, fried oysters, was outstanding. I just wish they had been clearer on their website that the V-Day menu was being served two nights in a row. We might have chosen to eat elsewhere that night.

Nice room, very good staff and service, and the food might have been somewhat ok if it was hot!
Mushroom bisque was obviously microwaved with some warm and downright cold spots, flavor was bland with no salt on the table, and ironically the portion was actually too generous. My wife's steak was a perfect medium rare, but she ordered medium, and it was chewy with only average flavor. My boneless short rib was nicely cooked, tender, and flavorful, but seemed like it was cooked a hour earlier, kept in a fridge, and put under a heat lamp until barely room temperature. Of course it had to be sent back, and to their credit they somehow they warmed it up without ruining the doneness. The cauliflower side was only about a notch above cafeteria quality. They served beautiful and tasty little baguettes, but cold and a bit too crunchy. The limited entree menu should have been much, much better executed.
This was only our second visit to AKA, and our second time being deeply disappointed. Other reviews tend to be much more positive and of course we really wanted to like it. Alas, I guess we were unlucky, but in any case we probably wont go back.

Once again it is proven that you don't have to travel to Boston to get a well-prepared and special meal. The combination of French and Japanese choices is very complimentary, and there are choices for everyone, from rich and hearty to more delicate. The moules frites was among the most perfectly prepared I've every had; my husband said the same of his bouillabaise. The gnocchi-mushroom appetizer special was to die for. The Asian-inspired scallops were similarly carefully prepared and delicious.

We had a family gathering for brunch. We had never been there so it was a bit of a shot in the dark. The brunch menu was somewhat limited but everyone enjoyed their food. It was not noisy, no little kids running around, excellent service. Would definitely go again.

The prix fix dinner menu was outstanding. AKA makes the best fish and duck dishes around. Vegetables are delicious, varied, and central to each plate. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

We had mixed feelings about our dinner. The tuna poke dish and sushi were good. However, the Caesar salad lacked flavor and I think they tried too hard to make it look fancy rather concentrate on the taste. The miso soup was just okay and the bread was a bit tough (would have been nice if it was served warm).

For all the hype about this restaurant, we were a little let down.

Food was excellent, service matched it, only thing I would suggest is given the price point more food be provided when ordering the sushi options. There really was not enough to fill either myself or husband given the approximately $200 dollar bill with Wine!

Met friends from Sudbury for a catch-up Sunday brunch. They had eggs sunny side up and the the bouillabaisse, we had the Kobe beef dumplings (Dim Sum) and the mushroom soup. Everyone had coffees of their fav versions. What we liked was we could sit and linger and talk and were not rushed. I have done the same with friends in my watercolor class on Mondays after a three hour class across the street. It is the gift of good food, user friendly service, and face time with friends that is the real gift of this bistro venue! I have observed three generation family groups fill a larger corner table during the holidays and seen that families with little kids are treated well and the menu options please all members well.

Service was excellent - the food - mezza mezza. I ordered the steak frites. Both the meat and potatoes were barely warm - a shame because the taste was quite good. The fish dishes were excellent. We found the dessert to be tasteless. Given the price, a somewhat disappointing experience.

Whenever I visit this area I always make a reservation at AKA Bistro - this is by far one of the better restauaurants in the Lexington/Concord area. Their choices are always interesting and their fries and mac and cheese are stand outs!

Booked AKA Bistro online for a business casual lunch for 4. Very few places in a 25 mile radius that are open for lunch. Reviews were 3-4 stars in Yelp. We had an excellent experience. Starting from the location, to surroundings, to the decor, ambiance, friendly staff, very knowledgeable servers and above all the really innovative and delicious food, it was a great find!
Highly recommended for lunch, business lunch, families, groups or if you are flying solo!
Not sure about dinner as I went for lunch, but I am sure it will be real good. Prices were commensurate with the food and experience - in fact we felt it was totally worth it! Keep up the good work AKA!

The food was interesting enough, but either the tables were too close together or the acoustics need some work. If we had known, we would have requested a table in the corner - or even sat at the bar. Instead, we were placed between a group of four and another pair of diners and it was hard to hold a conversation without speaking loudly. Service was a bit slow. My husband ordered the smallest of the sashimi plates and it seemed rather empty for the price - we've had better at other sushi places. I had the Spanish mackerel special and it was quite good, with interesting root and vegetable accompaniments. Some very interesting cocktails!

We've been going to AKA for some time and have generally enjoyed it. Initially it was too noisy but they fixed that. Recently we've been really pleased with the quality of the meals and the service. Are going more frequently and looking forward to some exceptional meals. Good job!
