We try to go here every time we make it to Homer. It's definitely one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. I would highly recommend taking the time and monies to eat here you will not be disappointed. I also recommend reservations as this place is very popular with the locals so tables and lines are had to come by.

We have always loved the food. We did ask to be reseated, the piano was a little too loud for our conversation but the staff reseated is with no problem. Thank you Marie Carlton

We had a fantastic meal, both of us had steak (cooked to perfection as always). my husband has a hard time anyplace else getting his steak cooked “well done” other restaurants don’t seem to produce a juicy well done tender steak. AJ’s never disappoints- we mentioned that to our server and complimented on the meal, he said the way they cook their steaks is a bit different, they don’t rush the process by covering the steak, they let it cook in the open like all the others, it takes longer but the result is a juicer more tender steak. Great food, great service and live music to top it all off! We enjoy eating here.

We go to AJ's once every month or two. The wait staff is very attentive & we never have to ask for refills of our drinks. Wait time for food is dependant on the season. Tourist season may have a longer wait. It is worth the wait! I have never had a bad meal here!!

The food was good (the zucchini was awesome, as was the steak), and the service was beyond incredible, without being obnoxious. We had everything we needed, even before we could ask for it. I have never thought the ambience was attractive, but others seem to find it so. I really don't care for the unlevel floors as they disrupt my balance and scare me.

My husband and I ate a steak for the first time in AJ’s yesterday. We went with the Prime cuts! The steaks were up there with the best ones we’ve ever tasted! My husband has eating steaks in fancy restaurants all over the USA and he was impressed with AJ’s. I know steaks less well than my husband, but I loved AJ’s steak too!

love going to this steakhouse but i never order a steak since they dont have baked potatoes, they serve mashed or fries and that doesnt go with a steak for me, otherwise the food is very good and great staff

Kind of expensive but the food and service is excellent. We live in the Homer area and AJ's is one of the places we like to go to for special occasions and where we like to take visitors to show off Homer's great food options.

Great service, superb steak and seafood, excellent cocktails. Overall an outstanding restaurant, and would recommend this place to anyone looking for prime steaks and fresh /locally caught seafood in a casual old school Alaskan atmosphere. We are definitely going back the next time we are in Homer!

One of Homer's BEST places to dine with great food (steaks are their specialty) in a relaxed Alaska style environment. The live background piano music is very relaxing and comforting. When visiting Homer this is one place that must be on your dining bucket list.

Always great food. Favorites include the blue cheese potato chips appetizer. Their steaks are the best between Homer and Anchorage. Live music is always enjoyable. Service is great. King crab is to die for!

This was a first time visit for us to celebrate a birthday and have a weekend getaway. The meal was fantastic and service (Lance) was professional and attentive to all our needs. AJ's has great ambiance, not so much romantic but fun and relaxing which we prefer. Prime rib was the special and it was excellent, my date had the sirloin with scallops and it was cooked as ordered and delicious. Martinis were dirty and perfect in iced glasses. Their are many dining options to eat while in Homer, even off season, and we ate at AJ's two of the three nights we were there. We tried apps, drinks, and dessert.....all were excellent with perfect main course beef entree's, asparagus and potato's rounded off the full plates. Look forward to a return visit to one of Alaska's best steaks houses.

I really enjoyed the rockfish dinner. It was full of flavor and I really liked the sides (kale and beets). My only comment is that the steak that my spouse received was full of fat and not what I was expecting from a steak house.

Traditional steakhouse fare and atmosphere. Pricey for what you get. Service was slow. Decent wine list but many only by the bottle which was disappointing. Steak was cooked to specifications while mashed potatoes were the best part of the meal. Won't be going back, especially with other more interesting options in Homer. Music was a nice touch for an evening meal though.

My daughter and I went here to celebrate her birthday. It was quiet and quaint and pretty casual. We had the ribeye and it was excellent and well seasoned. The wedge salad had a homemade blue cheese dressing that was also tasty. This is not a super fancy place, but if you want a good steak, I would highly recommend it!

The restaurant was full but for our reserved 6 places. None of us drink. We all ordered pretty much the something. Everyone loved the food. Such great flavor in each thing on your plate. Pretty simple and straight forward food. Bread, meat and potatoes, and a small veg. Excellent service and food I highly recommend.

Excellent excellent excellent!!
We started off with the truffle fries. Amazing the best we've had anywhere.
We each ordered different cuts of beef & both were cooked to perfection & very tasty.
We finished off our meal with the best chocolate moose we've had anywhere. It was a very busy evening & our waitress was very attentive & excellent service. I'm glad we chose this restaurant. I would highly recommend going there for a delicious meal. It's every bit as good if not better than RUTH Chris steakhouse.

Halibut was just a tad dry but was excellent anyway. Live music was very good (hobo Jim). Recommended by a local lady and well worth the experience. We all thought our food was some of the best we've ever had . Scallops-fish & chips-pan seared halibut!!!
