Aioli Bodega Espanola Ratings and Reviews
We were very disappointed in the service. For a group of 5, one meal wasn't delivered to the table until the rest of us were almost done eating. Not only was the duck entree very late but it was dry and not appetizing. My husband sent it back after a few bites but he was still charged for the meal. The live music was nice but the room was so loud we couldn't hear across the table. Very disappointed overall. Lots of other choices in Sacramento, so will not be back.
First time visit. Found Aioli via Open Table. What a great treat. Wait staff was quite knowledgeable and helpful. Sangria was delicious. The night we were there, we enjoyed some lovely live guitar music. A quaint setting made for a great meal before the show.
We were here before seeing a play at the Community Center...9 people. We made reservations on Open Table and were pleased with the service and food.
It is a very dark restaurant and three people in our group are Hard of Hearing. Due to the dimness and high noise level of this restaurant we will probably not eat here at night again as they could not participate in the conversation.
First time at Aioli. Loved it! and will be back. We went with friends before a show at the Community Center Theater. My husband and I shared the Arugala Y Betabel salad, which is fantastic! Then my husband had linguini and clams, and I had the ravioli. Both delicious! Aioli has a terrific wine list and dessert menu, although we did not have dessert. Will try to include that next time. Aioli has wonderful atmosphere, quiet enough to talk, and excellent service. It was a top notch dining experience.
Once again, a wonderful experience. This time we we're visiting with friends from out of town. They loved it. We ordered several dishes to share, including the Paella Valenciana which we ordered at the beginning of the meal, and they were all terrific. The Paella came about 40 minutes into our meal, which had been a series of tapas that we shared. Dinner was rounded out with a poached pear and a flan for dessert. Both we're delicious. Our guests ordered a couple of cocktails, which they felt were too sweet and did not finish, but my husband ordered wine which he enjoyed, and I ordered the Sangria, which was perfect. Delightful meal. Would highly recommend.
The food is unlike anything else in Sacramento. From the tapas to entrees, the food is delicious and unique. The servers know both the food and wine, while providing excellent service. I have been going here for several years and am always treated with great respect and courtesy. There are three choices to sit, dining room, bar, and patio. All are different experiences. The dining room is the traditional dining experience. The bar provides the opportunity to interact with the bartender and other guests. Always an entertaining experience. The patio offers a quiet oasis from the busy restaurant and vibrant street scene.
Very good service and terrific food. I had lamb and it was outstanding. Another person had a shrimp dish that was great and a third had a lemon chicken dish that was very good, especially if you are dieting. The fig hors d'oeuvres were awesome! My friend is still dreaming about them! I can hardly wait to go back and try the Osso Buco.
In general, my experience was good. Here were the only speed bumps (maybe me being picky).
1) Paella did not have the crispy layer of rice that I love and saffron was lacking and could not be tasted by myself or my wife. Reminded me more of a seafood risotto than paella.
2) Shrimp were of a low quality. IQF shrimp that could've been bought at COSTCO.
That's it. End of my qualms.
Flavors of the food were great and service was good. Prices were reasonable, but a higher quality, head-on shrimp would have been preferred. The day boat scallops were remarkably delicious and cooked perfectly.
Thank you for a good dinner. I will be back.
Very good food - just felt like our server tried to "oversell" by suggesting multiple plates of the same item so all could share. Even after saying we'd been there numerous times, the staff suggested more plates than we needed. Patio seating was lovely and music was nice touch.
We had to move from the table next to the air conditioner due to noise - but all was well in the end. Wonderful lamb. Terrific salmon tartare. Out of our favorite Barbera.
The food was good, but I didn't care for the ambiance. I expected more considering it has a Spanish influence. There were cardboard boxes stacked in plain view and the owner's appearance was unprofessional. Everyone was very friendly, but I had higher expectations.
The original Reda Bellarbi resto. Still fantastic with great choices for everyone. We had two vegetarians and the salads, bourek, mushrooms, tortilla espanola all delicious. The salmon for the carnivore delicate and tender. A great Rioja to wash it all down. Nice guitar musician in the patio....magical!
I have been to Aioli Bodega several times and it never disappoints. A seasonal menu highlighting the best quality ingredients prepared to perfection. Each visit, I have introduced friends or family to the tapas menu and all have left raving about the delicious food. Several favorites include the heirloom tomato tapas and the bogatini pasta - all have been very tasty. The menu is vegetarian friendly, with a variety of healthy options. We tried the vegetarian paella (with picture included). Excellent.
Excellent food, and good service, at a reasonable price. The room is comfortable and inviting. Overall, a very good meal. My only nit was that perhaps the bread had been left sitting too long and that no one automatically refilled it. We would certainly return.
