Aioli Bodega Espanola
Nathan made our whole evening. We sat down and noticed the large menu, asked Nathan to select the best for us and he took over and made it an amazing night out. The food he decided on for us was on point, flowed well together, and executed by the kitchen with perfection. thanks again for the wonderful night out!
Fantastic meal great service great atmosphere
Always a magical time at Aioli! Still my favorite spot in Sacramento!
Great food and service. Good way to try many different food combinations with the Tapas.
Very quaint family run place; a little chaotic at the front door (there are three door options) but nicely set up for Valentine's. We arrived early and the service was excellent. We ordered four different tapas plates and all of them were creatively made and yummy. The rock cod was the best!
The paella was not flavorful and it was almost 40 dollars! Food was not the gratest. We ended up spending 130 dollars for Mediocre food. The Borracho fessert was overpower by cheap wine. Very disappointed really. Not going back. Was velebrati g my 20 year wedding anyversary 🙁
Great service and food. Waiter did a great job of describing the menu and answering our questions. The food was to die for.
Celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary and this was a great choice.
This place is great- it has such a large menu that there is something for everyone. We love sharing the small plates .
It was great...the food was very tasty! Better than I expected. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our server Nathen was very knowledgeable and kind. We will be going back very soon.
I ordered a Fabada soup for starter, and several tapas. After a while the fabada came together with the tapas, so by the time I finished the soup the warm tapas were cold. The soup was okay, except it was not a fabada. They used white beans instead of the big faba beans, and it didn't taste the same. I ordered Boquerones en Vinagre and they gave me four (4) dry boquerones on top of little pieces of pita. What a sad view! I ordered a Pulpo Gallego and they served me two small legs of pulpo that were cold and not very tasty. The Legumbres a la Parrilla were not anything to write home about, and of course they were cold too. Very disappointing!
When we travel on business to Sacramento we eat every night at Aioli.
Very good experience. Love it.
Food and all that. Our waiter did a fantastic job. I love the music in the background.
Food was great! Service amazing!
The food was amazing and our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable. The 2 stars in service are because our reservations were for 8 but we weren't seated til close to 8:25 and each time the owner (I think) said "just 10 minutes" which turned into longer. I can understand tables lingering but this was longer than normal.
Also, live music decimated the ability to carry on a conversation. Why restaurants still have someone on amplified audio in a small restaurant is beyond me.
Yes, I would. It is a popular place. The food was tasty, music in the back ground.
We had a nice window seat and we were able to talk. It was a noisy, but that is part of the attraction, people enjoying themselves.
Wonderful food. Authentic Spanish cuisine . Lively environment. Cool place.
One of the better restaurants In Sacramento.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Aioli Bodega Espanola. Do not be discouraged by the average 4-star review that I gave it. This is because I have dined in some of the world's best restaurants, so it is all relative. The fact is that this is probably one of the best restaurants in Sacramento right now and I was pleasantly surprised on my recent visit there.
Ambiance: much better than expected/shown in photos. Very nice, warm, tablecloth type of place. The owner is part of the ambiance :-) and he's great!!
Service: it shows that the owner is involved. The service is professional and efficient, friendly, informative. It is a model of how service should be done --approaches restaurants of considerable higher prices. Excellent and I gave it 5 stars.
Food: the food was generally good to great with some items being exceptional. The Bacalao San Sebastian was incredible. It is a seasonal item that should become a mainstay. The ox-tail with potato and cheese was another wonderful surprise. Mussels (in tomato) were OK. Pork skewers needed something more (including salt) --worth iterating on this dish. Do NOT skip the dessert menu. Excellent! Cocktails were on the weaker side. Wine and beer menu was adequate for a restaurant at this price range.
Value for money: I thought value for money was excellent, including some of the other establishments in Sacramento. Sacramento should be a lot less expensive than San Francisco and from what I see, it is not quite the case any more. This restaurant is reasonable in comparison.
It was a great experience. We brought people who have never been before and they enjoyed all of the tapas we ordered. Great wait staff and wine recommendation appreciated.
I have enjoyed Aiolis for the past 10 years. Every time it feels like a new experience and it never gets old. Service and food is always great and welcoming.
Owner was slightly grumpy ....... they brought the paella and we still enjoying the Tapas . The flan was to die for
This is a great, authentic Spanish tapas restaurant with a great menu and an even greater wait staff. I've been here for both lunch and dinner with a small group and a large group and I'm impressed every time.
Festive family get together!
First time to this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised with the excellent quality and preparation of the food. Excellent service and nice presentation of the food! The Paella was delicious and not as salty as we had in Spain. Highly recommend this restaurant!
My wife and I took a friend for her birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience that evening. Omer was our server and he did a great job answering our many questions and helping us choose from their generous menu choices. Tapas were terrific. The scallops were off the chart great! Sea Bass entree was shared and it was outstanding. Don't hesitate just go there and enjoy some outstanding cuisine!
Asked my wife where she'd like to go for her birthday. She picked Aioli Bodega. We got a 6:45 reservation and invited our closest friends to drive over from Davis and join us. We got there at 6:45 and they'd given our reservation away to another couple. Apparently some couple was late to their 6pm reservation and according to the host, looked at the reservation book, picked my name from the list, and claimed to be me. The host who apparently gave away the table was apologetic. The manager shooed me away (literally waived me away with his hand!) and told me to go wait in the bar. Thanks chief, I think we'll go somewhere else. So i left with a wife that was extremely disappointed that she didn't get her birthday pick. So much for making reservations. My recommendation: Skip Aioli's on a Saturday night.
Date night with the spouse. Everything we had was very tasty, everything we saw looked good.
We will be back!
It is always a pleasure to have dinner at Aioli. The food is unique, vibrant, and delicious. Thank you! :)
My husband and I ordered tapas. Each dish was beautiful and the flavors unique and absolutely delicious. The selected tapas were served overtime so we weren’t overwhelmed with food. The scallops were perfectly prepared and the pork tapa was so tender my husband loved the flavors. Our waiter helped us pick out a rich flavorful bottle of 2005 Tempranillo (Spanish). We were seated at a table surrounded by windows, which was cozy and romantic and allowed observation of bustling midtown activity. The meal ended with a deep chocolate melt in your mouth mousse accompanied with flavorful fresh berries. We have moved this wonderful establishment to the top of our dining favorites. An easy Lyft ride from East Sacramento
Great food, service was a little slow. The newer bartender didn’t know how to make a proper martini.
Very good food. Very lively atmosphere. Too loud for casual dinner conversation.
Seating was very quick. Right as we got there we waited for a minute the were seated. Waiter was very nice and patient and would come back and check on us. Food was outstanding. greatly priced for what was served.
Dinner before a music event.
Service was very rushed and selections were hit or miss...not the Aioli we thought we knew...except for the host, who has always been rude and gruff, not just this time! We would overlook that in the past due to the food, but now the food’s not such a draw.
For the money we paid, three hundred dollars for a table of four, I left unsatisfied.
We chose to eat here as part of Dine Downtown because we were going to places we hadn’t been before. We will be back. The food was terrific, nuanced flavors and lovely presentation. Our service was spot on, attentive, but not intrusive. Thanks for a great evening.
We focused on many small plates (tapas) and mussels.
All were very good and Nathan our server was a great guide
to an enjoyable evening.
This was my first time there and I left speechless. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and asked our preferred accommodations. Our dinner was brought out to us in a timely manner and everything was delicious! I would highly recommend the restaurant to all my friends.
We were two friends meeting for lunch. We each ordered the lunch special and both thought they were good. Specials include a very small serving of soup (half cup at most), a main course, and a sliver of dessert. Presentation was well done. The single waiter that day was pleasant and cheerful and responsive though he was having to hustle to keep up with things on his own. I like this restaurant and hope to return.
