AIDA Bistro & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
I have been here many times. Great food. Great service. Every time in walk away in feel like I had dinner in a Marriott Courtyard Lobby. The designer needs to step it up and match the food level or stop being cheap. The food and service is so great. But my wife won’t come with me because the ambiance is so BLAH. Please work with me Aida.
Our party of 7 went to catch up and enjoy a nice evening together. My husband and I have been here twice before and were even more impressed this last visit. The staff is excellent - knowledgeable about the food and wine selections, friendly, and attentive (but not overbearing). The food was great - I had the scallops, which were delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal - spicy shrimp pasta, pork, lobster and shrimp pasta. Starters of soup and salad were delicious as well. Wonderful ambiance. Solid experience all around! Will be back :)
The food and wine is to die for, but be prepared to spend a pretty penny–it's pricey! Great spot for a special occasion or date. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. As wine lovers, my husband and I enjoyed the wine on tap. Overall, wonderful dining experience!
It was ok. The menu items listed seem much more appealing on paper than they turned out to be in real life. The food wasn't bad, it just didn't POP. The fried foods didn't have exceptional crispiness, and any accompanying sauces/dips/glazes were also underwhelming. Again, nothing was bad, but nothing jumped out at me in terms of texture and flavour. The wine pours were less than generous. I didn't of course actually measure the pour, but it was definitely on the light side. Our waitress was pleasant and adequately attentive being that this was a business meal for us, it can be difficult to gauge when the group is ready to order or if we are too busy talking. The layout and decor were only slightly better than bland. A rectangular dining area, painted in various tones of tan, with 4-tops and art-work for sale on the walls. meh. I think AIDA would be 'adequate' for a once a month dinner if the food were 1/2 the price.
One of my favorite restaurants in Columbia, MD. I love to sit at a high top in bar area, which is energetic and gets busy very early even before 5PM. The Wine Bar Happy Hour (3-7PM) includes a selection of drink and appetizer specials, enough for a meal. Simply the best crispy fried Brussels Sprouts. Also, tried the crab dip for the first time, which includes baby soinach, old bay, and crab and it was rich and delicious! So glad I had the opportunity to come back. Also, download the app and receive a free glass of wine upon download and over time when you punch your card!
The food was amazing— this is how lamb is supposed to be cooked, and the pork chop was exquisite. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, too. We haven’t been here in a while, but will definitely be back sooner next time based on the wonderful experience.
The entire experience just felt skimpy. Overall the food quality was good, as was the wine, but 10oz of wine as two glasses for $25 left me half way through the meal with no wine and unwilling to drop another $25 for two more 5oz glasses. The risotto my wife had was very nice but the salmon was very small for the money and I couldn’t even find the supposed asparagus salad that came with it. $90 in, still hungry, and not willing to take a flier on what would likely be an unsatisfyingly small dessert left me feeling kind of taken to the cleaners. We probably won’t be going back.
The meal was excellent and the service was outstanding. The spaghetti was great, the desserts were wonderful, and the wine selection was wide and varied. It was not very busy and it had a nice outdoor dining area - and the fact that is set off the road makes it pleasant to be outside.
I met a friend for dinner - this restaurant was about the halfway point. The location is a bit obscure - this isn't anything nearby. We ordered the zucchini flowers (yummy but only 2), basil cavatelli and halibut dish (flaky, teensy dry but very good with the beurre blanc sauce). We also split the half bread pudding dessert.
As always, a pleasure to dine at Aida. Brought a new business colleague who left saying "this is already my favorite restaurant and I've only been here once!" Boris was exquisite as our server and Sylvia, the sous chef, came out to say hello and even made up a special Birthday cannoli for my guest. Greatest place around!
Squash Blossom apppetizer special needed salt, less cream cheese in the crab mixture, and more sauce. Calamari app was interesting (and spicy) with the fried jalapenos. Ciopini was good, scallops were excellent. Mini cannoli and bread pudding were a good ending to the meal. Fig Moscow Mule was delicious, wine and beer selections are great!
We had a special family occasion and it was restaurant week. My daughter compared the possible restaurants from a web site and chose AIDA Bistro for its menu and intriguing wine specialties. Our three course meal was fabulous. Service was outstanding. Our waiter was very helpful explaining the entrees and pairing them with suitable drinks.
Two couples, early dinner on a Friday night. Restaurant not very crowded, about half full. Great service, good food, but it was too warm. Close to 80 if not over; we were all sweating. We even asked if the temperature could be adjusted and were told no. Would not go back when it is very hot outside given this experience.
