I had a very good dinner at Aide Bistro on Tuesday night. My server, Meridith, was delightful and very helpful. Thank you. The calamari wasn't anything wonderful, without too much taste or anything too interesting about it. My salmon entree was very good, with a nice salt and pepper crust. Very enjoyable. I had a 10 oz glass / carafe of the restaurant's nicer red tap wine. It was better than I expected a tap wine to be as it was decently bold and fruity, but I would definitely prefer a better glass of wine from a bottle, than wine from a keg. Fun to try though. The restaurant was most empty except for a group of about 10-15 people with severla young children, that were extremely loud and not considerate of anyone else dining that night. Maybe a separate room for larger groups would be nice? Overall, it was a very good meal and a nice experience.
First time at Aida fir a post-movie date night about 2030hrs on a Saturday. It was just getting quiet after a busy night. Service was very good, as was the food and they have a great selection of wine. We will definitely go back.
Great service and good food
My husband & I enjoyed our espresso martini and had an amazing dinner & was then surprised my the chef welcoming us into the kitchen to meet everyone as well as to try out a new dessert which was incredible. We had a wonderful night as always! Great food & wonderful people!!
Great for my birthday.
Aida was a charming surprise, and I would recommend it with some reservations. The dish that I was looking forward to after viewing the menu online was disappointing; the risotto was very soupy (with very little actual rice) and the puree of squash and cheese had a funky flavor. But the bartender removed it as soon as he saw I wasn't eating it and I reordered with no questions asked. The marinara was good, but the brussel sprouts with an apple-fig glaze were incredible! I could have made a meal of them alone. Wish I lived in the area so that I could visit again to try more dishes, as I always like finding places with interesting takes on vegetables.
Besides a hiccup with some burnt chicken with the chicken carbonara (which was redone upon request) the food was great. The seafood linguine is always a great choice!
Food not tasty for the price. Sweet potato fries and spinach way too salty. Dessert portions too small for price of $8.00 per. Sorry for my first visit at Aida's.
Food was good, but all the wines we tried on tap, were flat and tasteless. So that was a bummer.
Chef Matthew is amazing and the service is wonderful!!!! It's now one of our go to spots.
This was our first visit. Appetizers were okay, fried tomatoes were a bit soggy, not a lot of flavor. Hummus was okay. Primavera entree was good. Risotto was okay, not enough seasoning, didn't seem to have as much rice in it as risotto typically does. My wine (cab and a malbec) was very good. As for the red flight, husband only liked 2 of the 3 wines. Dessert (spicy chocolate bar) was very good as well as the coffee. Overall I'd try it again but definitely would not get those particular appetizers. Service was very good.
Great choice, especially in Columbia. Food was mostly delicious and extremely well prepared. Out of the five dishes ordered, 4 were excellent and one was good. Dessert was good as well, but didn't live up to the almost perfect mains and appetizers.
Service was professional and friendly, and the ambiance was comfortable, albeit a bit in a corporate park type of setting. Price points were fair.
All in all this is an excellent choice.
Great experience! We dined inside with our kids and had a nice quiet dinner. Appetizers and meals came out hot. Everything was delicious, pasta, seafood, veggies.
I recently had dinner at Aida Bistro with three others. The food was consistently excellent for everyone, and the service was perfect. Aida Bistro has been very noisy on previous visits, but this time the dining room was quieter. Outdoor seating is also very pleasant if the weather is cooperative, and the bar area is very nice for happy hour. Their “wines on tap” are very good, not just a gimmick. like this restaurant.
Wonderful experience. The staff were all excellent and the food was very good. We will be returning and would recommend Aida Bistro to anyone looking for the best Italian food in the area.
Our second time dining at Aida Bistro since Chef Matt returned and again it was excellent again.
We went with our friends and had a very delicious meal. We dined on Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers; Linguine with Lobster, Shrimp & Crab, Summer Lamb Ragu & Prosciutto Crusted Bronzino for entrees and drank a very good Beaujolais from Brouilly, which was recommended by our server, Boris.
We are looking forward to returning for more excellent food, wine and service.
Came here to celebrate a birthday. Our waiter was very nice. And the food came out quickly and was fantastic.
We always enjoy our meals at Aida. It was terrific before Matt Milani came aboard, and now, it's even moreso. Food, service, value-a gem in Howard County.
Good experience. Food pretty good. Limited menu, few substitution or customization options.
Delicious steak salad. The steak was cooked to perfection and crispy onions and delicate cheese augmented the flavors. Would order again!
This is a great place for dinner. Wonderful food. Great for a special dinner (try the Seafood Pasta with Tarragon Cream Sauce - it's spectacular. But equally there is increasing emphasis on having some simpler weeknight (meaning every day vs. special occasion pricing, but top notch food) kinds of things on the menu. The new chef is doing a great job. As usual, lots of great wine and beer available by the glass - the "by the glass" is wine more carefully curated than most place. This is both a neighborhood gem and a fit for foodies.
Welcome back, Matt Milani. Ever since the Rumor Mill was flooded out of business, we've been hoping and waiting for Chef Matt to come back to the restaurant world and our meal at Aida Bistro did not disappoint.
We started with Fried Green Tomatoes and a Beet, Cucumber Salad. Followed by Prosciutto Wrapped Bronzino and Airline Chicken Breast, and ended with Peach Cobbler and Extra Virgin Olive Oil cake. This was all accompanied by a really good bottle of Casanova. Rose, which was recommended by our server, Boris.
We are so happy that Chef Matt has returned and we are looking forward to many fabulous meals at Aida Bistro.
The service was wonderful, our waitress was informative and the other staff was very attentive. The food was good but one of our party had to send her main dish back, it was risotto but was undercooked. I like that they had a seasonal menu and good local beer selection. Would go back for sure.
This is "American" Italian food, so it's pretty heavy, event though everything was cooked fresh. I had a lovely glass of Pinot Noir, but felt as though the choices were limited, for a "Wine Bar". I can recommend it for a place to stop and meet a friend, but not for any sort of fine dining.
Pleasant staff. Service was quick and the food was good.
What a lovely evening! Our food was superb, the service spot on, and the setting so warm and friendly. We will be back!!! Thank you, Mary and Chef Matt for stopping by to say hello!
We were seated at a tiny table by the kitchen door in front of an open but shuttered access to all the noise of the kitchen filtered into our ears. I couldn’t hear my son sitting 30 inches away from me. The restaurant was not busy at all for a Thursday evening. The wine bar was out of Malbec, my son’s choice, to pair with his steak dinner. His steak was grisly, and included two bone shards attached to the non-bone in side. My shrimp fra-diavlo pasta was a bland tomato sauce with heat. The shrimp was over cooked or re-heated and mushy and the extra large spaghetti noodle accentuated the lack of flavor in the dish.
Our greatest disappointment was a restaurant week special desert ( according to our waitress), the Panna Cotta. It was more like a gritty McDonald's yogurt parfait. My son had raved about this Chef and still says he has amazing credentials... maybe it was just a bad night.
Summer Monday’s is one of the best deals in the area. You can get a big plate of pasta and glass of wine for $22. The pasta is handmade and it includes seafood pastas. Will definitely return. Staff were very friendly.
Drinks were good, food was ok, portions were extremely small. Salmon was a small sliver of salmon on a small bed of greens. If you want to be full after eating a meal here, you will have to order a couple starters and/or sides, which makes this a very pricey local option. Love the local business but you need to be willing to spend a lot or be ok with small meal sizes.
We heard they had a new chef so we gave it a try. Nothing really new or special. Food is okay. I hated mine and sent it back. It was okay
As always an outstanding experience. We’ve been going to Aida for nearly a decade. Food is incredible and the staff is super nice. The owner, Joe, always stops by to say hello and thanks for coming in.
This is not my first time at Aida because the food is so good. Service, seating, everything was great. Everyone is very attentive and someone, who I think was the manager, came to our table after we ate to inquire about the food and service, ask what we had, and if we liked it. I was so grateful they didn’t interrupt me mid meal to ask. We had waiters who checked on us but the manager stopping by was a nice touch. Also, it’s very conveniently located with ample parking. Anyone would enjoy this cozy place with great food and service. I’ll be back! I didn’t try the gluten free or vegan meals but I saw plenty offered.
We had been to this restaurant before for both friend's special events and dinners. This time we went there because of their new executive chef, Matthew Milani. He hasn't been there long after a long absent. So the menu is still the same. I look forward to the future with his guidance in the menu and kitchen. My dinner with the shrimp pasta. It was without tails and they were cook perfectly. The shrimp were plentiful and the homemade pasta was lovely. It was a treat having just come back from Italy. I will be coming back and I look forward to seeing how Chef Milani has embraced AIDA and puts the restaurant back as a must go in Columbia. I think he might create new things with Italian fusion and a wine tasting menu.
Excellent service, nice ambiance, good food, a bit pricy.
Had a great night out with girlfriends. Service was great. The food was tasty— I think my girlfriends liked their pastas better than I liked my meal, but it was quite good. The appetizers were delicious and the desserts delicious.
I think the only real downside was the ambiance. We stayed until closing and the lights never dimmer or anything. Not that we needed romance, but it just felt off for such a nice place to eat. On the plus side, they played lots of Springsteen, so that was a win 👍🏻
Our second time there, the best part was our waiter BORIS who turned out to be a Sommelier. Very personalized attention and great recommendations for pairings of food and wine.
I haven't been to AIDA in years. I waited too long. Food's terrific. Service is awesome! I really felt like I was being treated like I was special at AIDA. I will DEFINITELY be going back!
A quiet Monday evening for our first visit to Aida. We had heard and read about it but never been there ourselves. Summer risotto was excellent. Impressive wine selection, as you would expect. We intend to go back and explore the menu offerings further.
Another wonderful Birthday celebration at Aida! Thanks to Meredith and Boris for adding extra special touches throughout the evening. We all appreciate the attention to detail. Chef Matt's food was amazing!
