Ai Sushi Sake Grill Ratings and Reviews
The food was good, but the service left something to be desired. It took about 10 minutes after we were sat to receive menus and only after we waved someone down to ask for them. 4 of the 5 members of our party ordered drinks and a server brought over a beer and "cocktail" and just tried to hand it to someone without knowing what it was or who ordered it.
That said when I spilled my cocktail, they were very quick to help clean up and replaced it.
The eggrolls were great and each person thoroughly enjoyed their respective sushi rolls. Quiet place for a Saturday night on Cedar Springs.
There were plenty of empty seats on a Saturday night, and the service was attentive and good in every way. The sushi was good, everything was fresh. Happy hour prices were good, and we were surprised to see them in effect on a Saturday. I didn't really think the roles were particularly amazing and would probably stick to plainer sushi next time. Overall, no complaints, and a good birthday meal.
This place looks nice, but had terrible service. We had a group of six and it took forever for everyone to get their order. We did not get ginger and wasabi, which I always get without having to ask for at other sushi places. When we did order it, we got one little serving and had to ask for more several times before they brought it. We specifically asked for separate checks, yet some of the rolls where placed on same plates, even though people who ordered it where at different ends of the table. Lastly our checks were incorrect and had to get them changed. I was disappointed with this place and will not be coming back.
We tried this restaurant before venturing down to see a show at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Very quick in and out. Great food. Quick access to downtown afterward. One caveat was that this was around 6 PM and the restaurant was rather empty at that time - which makes speed and service much better.
We made reservations online for by Birthday dinner. We arrived and were confused on where to ask for a table. We stood there by the door for about 5 minutes while 4 staff members walked right past us. They never acknowledged us and we had to finally try to get their attention. We were sat next to an extremely loud and obnoxious table. The floors were dirty and sticky. Once all guests showed up, it seemed to take little time to get our drink orders in. Once it was time to order food, we needed refills and the waitress never offered or asked. The food took FOREVER to get to the table. The rolls did not look like they had advertised them on their website and the food did not come out together. A friend had her tuna tower long before we got our rolls. We had to keep asking for drink refills. We all agreed to never go here again. Oh! And we were never offered dessert.
We love the sushi at Ai, but the service is always very slow. The waitress takes forever to bring our drinks and take our orders. The sushi we can always see sitting for 5 minutes after it has been made. They have some of the best rolls, but expect to be there for a bit.
Came here with my partner because we had a Groupon. Neither of us has been here before but we left without any complaints. We had the volcano roll which I very much enjoyed. We Also had the spicy tuna roll which wasn't bad, but had room for improvement. Overall we would return here if wanting sushi and were already in that neighborhood.
The sushi was top notch, however the service is very slow. Our first waitress was not very kind, but the hostess (maybe a manger) ended up serving us. She was much friendlier, but we still had to ask for service. The sushi was well prepared and very fresh. I would go back for that reason.
We waited forever to place an order, waited forever for it to arrive, hardly saw our server for the majority of the night.. and then we didn't even get out complete order. We ordered 4 rolls and 2 orders of sushi, and never received the sushi.
Would not return.
Beautiful decor, food left alot to be desired.
Quality of ingredients would be 3/5
Presentations would be 3/5
Service would be 4/5
I asked for their flagship rolls, something unique others don't do. I was directed to the rose roll.wasnt impressive at all. Tasted fine though
