Happy hour every day.
Went for fried chicken Sunday dinner. They had no fried chicken.
Bummer. Very limited menu. Not very good options. What happened here?
The bacon and egg meal was very poor. Bacon overcooked and small piece of bread hard. Others in our group enjoyed their meals.
Wonderful staff, great food, good quality, good price.
Had friends in town from San Diego, went to brunch before the rodeo. Although I do highly recommend the fried chicken and pancakes, my friends had the eggs Benedict which both orders were cold when they brought them to the table. Presentation on all four meals were good, but the eggs should have been hot when served.
The food is always good and the service, as well. To me, the only 'knock' on this place is the poor acoustics, and clanging noise from the open kitchen.
I love Agustin Kitchen for a Great Brunch. If the weather cooperates it is most fun to request the outside eating area. The court yard is very vibrant and great for people watching. Can't go wrong with this restaurant.
We are in Tucson for gem shows for 18 days so we have to go out to eat every nights. In all 18 dinners we would say this is the least valuable restaurant we visited regardless of price. Food was not good and service was mediocre. I would not recommend this place since there are lots of good selection here in town.
Great Valentine’s Day 4 course menu with wine pairing
This was for Valentine's Day. We made reservations, but were never told that the only dining option was an overpriced prix fixe menu. The soup, salad, meat and dessert were $75 + tax / tip, with matching wine pours for the meal at $25 + tax / tip. A 20% tip was mandatory, although the service was excellent. We've eaten there before and we'd recommend it, but not on Valentine's Day. Similar food on other days would have probably been more in the $50 range (plus tax, drink & tip).
We went for Valentine's day and there was a 4-course menu with wine pairing. The food was good but the portions were huge. Also, the wine pairings were just ok, the server would tell us about the wine-like, 'this is an oaky chardonnay to go with your soup.' Also, they brought us full wine pours instead of tasting pour. That's why it was such a good value, but I had to box most of my entree and dessert home. I will definitely go back for the regular menu.
Always a good lunch.
Food was absolutely incredible. I ordered the steak and my date ordered the salmon. We both loved our dishes and the chefs board was a delicious starter! Service was good - the only reason I didn’t give this a 5 star was we were expecting more from the service with such an outstanding meal and high price point. Great overall experience and would definitely go again!
Food was very good, service was sloooow, and we were ignored by waiter. Difficult to have conversations because of the noise.
Our special occasion was overshadowed by an inhospitable, server enforcing inconsistent policies. From start to finish it was a truly disappointing experience. We chose Augustin for ambience and food. The unfortunate service highlighted the overpriced, limited menu. It was difficult to discern what were server errors and what were kitchen errors but our experience suffered. The server had no remedy to the issues we brought to her attention. I spoke to the manager in hopes that another party that takes as much care as we did to coordinate and plan a Birthday luncheon that included formal invitations, table decor and custom dessert, (that was charged a cake fee and refused to serve, taken home untouched), will not send another group of guests home with no positive memories of our time together. Not so much as a happy birthday was sung. We gave the server opportunity to correct mistakes, we gave the manager opportunity to step in. I hope we are contacted or a truly beautiful place to celebrate will become nothing but a negative recommendation in a sea of options.
The waitress was outstanding and attentive without being annoying. She was very helpful in making suggestions and even had the kitchen make the frites without garlic for me and they were excellent twice cooked. I had the chicken pesto sandwich with gluten free bread and it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The only problem I had was that they did not have Patron tequila and the one suggested tasted somewhat medicinal. The waitress did offer to change it out to her benefit but we were halfway through the drinks and declined. Overall I would definitely go back and would recommend the restaurant to friends.
The food was excellent. Our waiter was superb. Great vibe.
I keep going back because the food is amazing and the service is unbelievable!
Fish special, halibut was over cooked twice. The small plate was very good, a sliced grilled sirloin. Oyster appetizers were very inconsistent in appearance and taste , and at 5$ a pop, quite expensive. Could not recommend-
Terribly slow service and there were hardly any other patrons. Our server was not very friendly either
Food was tasty but overpriced. Service was very lax, save for the attentive bussers. Don’t plan to return any time soon.
Recommended by a friend, this restaurant did not disappoint. Original takes on classic dishes with the added bonus of Southwest flavors. The dessert sampler is to die for and our waiter was terrific.
Food is great, service is good, but is so noisy it is difficult to talk. I prefer outside but was too cold even with heaters.
The atmosphere was lovely and the mussels were done well. However, our server was barely interested in us and the calamari was perhaps the worst we have ever had - it was completely soaked in sweet and sour sauce. We had high expectations of this place and the only aspect that really met them was the atmosphere. We do not plan on returning.
Always a lovely place to take friends for great food and good conversation.
We have gone here often but this is the first time for our most recent out of town guests and they were impressed and enjoyed the experience!!
Best mussels I have had outside of Paris and the service was amazing!
Based on the reviews, I was expecting a fairly unique dining experience in Tucson. Unfortunately, the food was average at best, and in my view would fall into the "once is enough" category. The service, however, was excellent.
It was great
Extremely busy, very load, setting tight. Wait was long for dinner plates. Food good and well platted. On the the expensive side for drinks, size and presentation.
Visited with friends. Seated right away and hostess was flexible as to where we sat. Server delivered waters quickly and took drink order. Parking was fine, but lots going on in the area with events and construction. Food was excellent. Burgers, salads, calamari, drinks, on and on. Wine selection was very good. Cocktails are well made and not light on the alcohol. Beautiful afternoon outside on the patio.
We will return!
I keep thinking that I will really like Augustin Kitchen but after four tries over the past few years it continues to be just so so.
Always a pleasure to have dinner at Agustin’s Kitchen when in Tucson. Entrees are fresh and prepared with a Southwestern taste that is interesting without calling attention to itself. Wines are well matched to the menu. We will definitely dine there again.
Dinner was far better than expected! The food was creative and nicely presented. We only ordered one main course, and the kitchen anticipated that we would want the main split between two dishes. The wait staff was attentive and timely.
NY Eve dining didn't disappoint. Mushroom appetizer was as good as it gets. Main courses of salmon and lobster were very tasty and filling. Bread costs but was delicious.
Our server Matt was wonderful.
A delightful dining experience.
We love this restaurant. Even when very busy, the food is delicious and the service is good.
New Year’s Eve meal. Live music was lovely and wait staff were excellent. We had a party of 9. 1/2 of the meals were outstanding and half so-so. Desserts and appetizers were excellent. Overall a great, festive time had by all.
Solid - ambiance is wonderful as it adjoins an open market with a covered coffee shop, bakery, salon/spa, and other restaurants. The restaurant itself has wonderful high ceilings, clean design/decor. We went for lunch. Food- French fries were amazing!!! The local pork sausage that you can add on was also outstanding. Our other dishes were otherwise average- heavy in the grease department. Service- we had 3 different interactions... 1 apathetic, 1 professional but otherwise minimal personality, and 1 professional with personality. We May consider trying at a different time to see the dinner menu...
Food and wine very good. However, appetizers and entrees were slow in coming out. Also, ambiance for an upscale place could be improved. Better tables with tablecloths, better chairs and lighting would make a big difference.
Food was delicious. The service was a little off, wait staff definitely distracted - but it was a busy night.
I wish is weren't so loud. We prefer to sit outside because the noise level is more tolerable, but it was just too chilly.
