Outdoor deck in the trees is a beautiful setting for dinner. Come early enough to enjoy the early evening sun before it sets over the ridge. Fresh organic food from their own garden and seafood is delicious. Own smoked chicken came with glorious burnished mahogony skin, tender meat and delicate smoked flavor, served with outstanding corn pudding.
Servers were professional but main course took almost an hour to arrive; kitchen must have been distracted by big wedding onsite. Surprisingly few wines by the glass available for wine county.
Dog friendly and welcoming. Drinks and small plates on the deck before sunset would be awesome.
I picked this restaurant based on reviews and the mention of a nice outdoor dining experience. The occasion: Mother's Day Brunch. We had a reservation outside on the deck overlooking the pool and cute little hotel room/houses, the space and scenery was very nice! I really want to give a higher overall rating, because the food was awesome and the service was great... however on this morning there was something up in the kitchen that had everyone waiting. They were giving free food and drinks to just about everyone because of the delay. That being said it was still a success for us since we weren't in a hurry. The cocktails were great, mimosa on point... their "Perfect Manhattan" was pretty close to perfect for me. I had a breakfast skillet or something like that & my GF had muscles... All the food was was delicious! Hopefully they get the kitchen turn around time sorted... we'll be back again to give them another shot as soon as we can!
We had another excellent dining experience when my husband took me and his mother here for Mother's Day Brunch. The lemon ricotta pancakes were divine--as was the crab eggs Benedict. The service was fantastic as usual, and Michael, the owner, was on hand to add his personal touch. And to top it all off, we were treated to a live jazz combo! I highly recommend this wonderful dining resource in Guerneville!
This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were so impressed! My mom needed to use the lift and an employee was kind enough to explain how and make sure we made it to the second floor ok. The same employee was kind enough to check into us eating outside since it was a beautiful day. I wish I remembered his name but he was seating guests on Mother's Day. Very professional yet friendly. Our server was excellent. She was very attentive to our needs and was present but not hovering. Sitting outside added so much to our experience and we will definitely go back. I've already suggested it to a few friends! Maybe we'll stay in a cottage next time!
Agriculture is the latest iteration of a venerable roadhouse on the Russian River that has been here for decades. The current management continues to provide a tasty locally sourced menu in a "down home" atmosphere. The large dining room has wood flooring, high exposed beams, rock fireplace. The tables are spaced far enough apart to provide privacy and noise control. A dining deck looks onto redwoods. The wait staff is a bit unpolished and could be more knowledgeable. However, it is compensated by friendliness and attentiveness. An asparagus soup was flavorful if a bit thin. A zesty ground pork rice ball concoction was a hit. A garden salad was Ok with fresh ingredients, but not special. Our culinary critical friend ordered halibut and cleaned his plate to a shine. My flank steak was full of flavor, cooked a perfect medium-rare, and was pretty tender considering the cut. A seafood linguini was loaded with flavor. A creme brule was fine, not great. The chocolate torte was more successful. There was one big glitch and an even bigger resolution: Somehow the kitchen got our order out of synch and we waited over 45 minutes for our entres. We had to ask our waitress a couple of times what was up. The manager came by and was very apologetic. We were finally served, and the meal indeed was very good. When the bill arrived the manager had comped us the two most expensive entres - without fanfare. A class act. We will be back.
Agriculture Public House at Dawn Ranch was WONDERFUL. We had 9pm reservations and the place was still lively even on the late side. We were staying at Dawn Ranch for a friend's birthday so it was the perfect way to end the evening. We shared appetizers which were amazing. We had the mussels, ravioli, olives, and calamari. For entrees, we ordered the pork chop, the cod, and the fettuccine--all of which were perfect. Drinks were also great and the service match the rest of the experience. Definitely a gem of a place.
I almost never write reviews, but was so impressed with Agriculture at Dawn Ranch that I am compelled to do so. I am descended from a long line of foodies and excellent cooks - my aunt and mother had Gourmet magazine subscriptions their entire lives and used them extensively to good effect. My aunt moved to Mexico for a year to learn how to be a better cook. I am an accomplished cook in my own right, and I have spent many enjoyable dinners at wonderful restaurants in Berkeley and Healdsburg. I love having dinner somewhere that offers something I am not capable of achieving on my own.
Agriculture at Dawn Ranch is truly stellar. I have been there twice now and each time it was wonderful on all counts - service, ambiance, and the food is simply impeccable. The owner produces some of the wonderful wines served there, and is personally involved in all aspects of the experience. The food is not pretentious or dramatic - just simple, beautiful and most importantly absolutely delicious across the board from appetizers, salads, main courses and desserts. Bravo and thank you Michael and team!
Special occasion food in a gorgeous setting. We enjoyed dishes we don't prepare at home: hanger steak with celeriac puree (unbelievable ) and boullabaise. Everyone was polite and efficient; they may have been harried by the Restaurant Week crowds but all food arrived at perfect temperature just when we wanted it. Corkage fee is reasonable ($20) compared to some area places. You'll be charmed by the rustic interior and cozy corner tables for 2 or 3. Make plans for your own celebration here.
I visit Guernville on a regular basis, and had heard about "the best restaurant" there, but I never had seen it. When it was a choice for the 2017 Sonoma Dining week, I decided to track it down. I am SO GLAD I did. While it is located on River Road, just west of Safeway, there is only a tiny sign indicating that there is a restaurant hiding there. BE CAREFUL: the map shows the location on the north side of River Road, but it is on the SOUTH side, just west of Fife Creek. When I walked in, I was greeted graciously, even though I dine alone. The atmosphere is very laid back, but the service couldn't have been any better. I ordered the cod and it was excellent. Overall, it was a perfect evening. I will certainly return.
We loved this place. So cozy with multiple fires burning and exposed wood lodge feel, but very clean and tasteful. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The staff was so friendly. The manager (possibly the owner?) sent out a free appetizer for my husband's birthday. The cocktails were perfect. An extremely satisfying experience.
Had a great dinner for 4 adults. We were seated on time and were promptly offered cocktails. We never felt rushed and our entrée order was taken when we were ready.
The food was wonderful and we all left feeling we got our money's worth.
We would absolutely go back next time we are in town.
We came here for New Year's Eve so the menu was prix fixe and the waitress told us the computers went down the day before so she took our orders "old school". We got a small glass of champagne and delicious bread- homemade focaccia.
The amuse bousch was lobster bisque and I would have loved to have a whole bowl of that on a cold night! We had the crab cake appetizer and a beet salad and pickled vegetable salad, all of which were tasty and fresh. I had the seafood paella, which was too spicy for my pallet and my husband had the filet mignon which was perfectly done. The dessert was a creme brûlée and a Mexican chocolate pot de creme. Service in general was not bad for a busy night except that after we received our entree our waitress disappeared for a good twenty minutes then brought the desserts and we never saw her again; the busser gave us our check. We probably would have had coffee but were never offered it.
We dined here the first night of our stay in Guerneville. We had the fried chicken and pulled pork ravioli as well as beers and specially-made cocktails. Our bartender, Rosemary, was very personable and made the best cocktails! Another hotel staff, Amanda, was also very accommodating and friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Guerneville or local to the area. We will definitely be visiting again!
We arrived early for our reservation. No problem, we had to wait for a table to be cleared, the staff very gracious while we waited. Our server was excellent, very patient while we decided on drinks. We ordered food, it came promptly. Mussels were rated as very good, crab Benedict seemed to have been the first thing cooked, had some cool spots. Burger was rated good but dry and carnitas and egg rated as good- needed seasoning. We loved the ambience and were hanging with friends that we hadn't seen for a long time. We enjoyed ourselves.
Garret was our server and made our special occasion awesome. The desert in most places is the best part but here it was the whole dinning experience. We had a wonderful time and ended the evening with a picture by the fireplace. Thanks everyone for a memorable evening.
Once the server discovered that they'd lost our order he assured us that the kitchen was getting right on it. Well, it still took a while. When we did finally get our breakfast, we'd sat for an hour. Our order came out without the toast that we had coming. We sat another, at least, 10 minutes for that. I'm not sure how you can screw up eggs, bacon and hash browns but they did. I'm pretty sure the hash browns had been frozen in a square shape then slapped on the griddle. They were a gloppy gross mess of shredded potatos. Bleck!!!! We ordered tomato juice and got Bloody Mary mix. Nasty!
