Good food, clean Pleasant ambience. Some language difficulties; don't seem to be aware that appetizers proceed the main course ; received the wrong dish which was quickly corrected period Never-the-less, less would go back.

Astonishingly good sushi (by the standards of a New Yorker) for a place chosen because of its proximity to the airport.

Everything was a bit too salty. The beef quality (sukiyaki) was average, on the chewy side.

Meeting a friend with a four-hour layover at SFO for dinner can be a challenge, since non-passengers cannot make it past security to enjoy eating at any number of good restaurants there at the airport. I chose Agenzen for it's close proximity - it was an 8 minute cab ride from SFO for her, and a two-block walk from Millbrae BART for me. Excellent, top-grade Japanese cuisine in a beautifully appointed room the belies its nondescript neighborhood location. The service was excellent as well - gracious and attentive. I would highly recommended Agenzen for a business lunch or dinner if needed for convenience near the airport. And again, excellent, excellent food even a Japanese person would be impressed with!

We were handed our menus and told the kitchen was closing and to make sure we ordered everything right then and now. Food was mediocre with the exception of the chawanmushi.
Service was beyond subpar . Was hoping to like it. Will not return.

First of all not very attentive service. We have to keep on trying to get someone for some service or getting our bill.
We've ordered the beef sukiyaki and it was really salty. The beef ribs has only a few ribs on it and there is no garnish at all.
I would just go there for lunch as they have quite good bento lunches. I wouldn't go there for dinner again.

Outstanding service! Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were generous. Restaurant was cozy, although I'm not a big fan of overhead lights above the table. Would definitely recommend for the quality of food and service above all.

Food was average in my opinion but I do have very high expectations and standards when it comes to Japanese food since I lived/worked in Japan for a few years and have visited Japan many times before and after I worked there. The staff's service was very attentive and it was a great place for me to catch up with several of my high school friends whom I haven't seen for years.

Best local Japanese restaurant near the airport hotels. Has an authentic feel to it. Fish was very fresh and service was very good. I would definitely go back next time I'm staying at SFO.

Seafood-centered menu great for fish lovers, not so much land lovers or vegetarians. Disappointed that the online menu that featured more varied dishes was different than the one at the restaurant, but it was still quite enjoyable. Sushi was good and reasonably priced but not the very best in the area. Dedicated parking lot and nice decor with 'real' utensils (not 'disposable' everything) was appreciated. Staff very friendly and capable; seemed genuinely interested in making our experience pleasant, which is a nice change from the snooty peninsula air you get at many places these days, regardless of quality and price. Very convenient (walkable) to CALTrain & BART.

The best thing about this restaurant was the service & parking. The chicken karrage was tender, however not much taste. The tempura was crispy, however was expensive. The monk fish liver was tasty & plentiful however, very expensive.

Another Japanese restaurant on the scene with very good food. All the regular items well prepared and plated nicely. If in the area, I recommend dining here, you won't be disappointed.

Authentic. Friendly. And most importantly- Best sushi I've had in years and I travel quite extensively for business with weekly sushi. Also, quite easy to get to from any SFO hotel.
HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

We thoroughly enjoyed omakase last weekend at Agenzen. There were four of us and we all ordered omakase. It was my second visit when I learned that in order to ensure omakase can be ordered, you must indicate your desire to order omakase when placing your reservation. They called back and told me they had noted our preference and we definitely had it. The fish was fresh. The chef told us which sauces, if any, to use for the fish to bring out the flavor. The server did help interpret for us so that we could understand what to do. She recommended sake, which was also delicious. At times it was difficult to get the server's attention. They recently re-opened with the new chef so I know it's growing pains. I highly recommend and I'll be back again!

The first time we went the food was amazing. Fresh fish, delicious rice, and great portions. The service wasn't the best but it was good enough.

The second time we went (a week after the first time!) we tried their specially reserved omakase. The entire several course meal was fantastic but again the service wasn't that great.

This last time we went, we went the service was horrible. We didn't get salads, or our ordered appetizers. One of the appetizers came with our entree the other one never came and we later found out they were out of it. The portions of entrees were half of what they were the first time we went. At least the fish was still just as good. They never took off the appetizer that they didn't serve and had to ask a 2x for it to be removed with the check. I was ready to make this place a weekly event for my wife and I but after this last time it will be a while till we come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our night out. We had a group of about 9. They offered us a table in the side area of the restaurant. I believe our original table was given away even though we arrived on time for our reservation. It wasn't a problem as they had space for us and we ended up liking the private area better as we were a birthday group.

The prices are great, the food is really good (loved the miso soup), and the staff was amazing! We will be back for many more parties and casual nights. Thank you again!

Really enjoyed our dining experience. The sushi is outstanding, the cooked items were very authentic. The service was impeccable. They provided excellent service to our large family. I am looking forward to returning for a date night with my wife to sample the Omakase. Highly recommended.
