Aged Steakhouse - Forest Hills Ratings and Reviews
Terrible experience. Christmas day we had a reservation for 4pm. Showed up at 4pm and they seated us but said the kitchen did not open until 4:30. Also the heat was not on and the restaurant was freezing- we and all the other patrons were sitting there in our coats. When the food came it was fine, not great, however both of my parents got sick afterwards (they both had the clam chowder so maybe that was it). Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
My boyfriend and I wanted to have a nice, romantic dinner where we could talk. Aged was the perfect spot for this. The food was amazing, the music set a perfect mood and the waiter was superb! It was greatly appreciated. The next day we took our family there for brunch! Our new favorite restaurant! We love it!
Didn’t have a great strip steak. It was very chewy and rough. I was told about the porterhouse but didn’t try it because it was 99$ for two. Striphouse in Midtown is 80$ and their quality of food is much better. Trying the lamb chops now and hopefully it’s better than the steak.
One waiter for 5 tables. We placed an order which came out wrong. They charged for a dessert and a drink we never asked for.. a side came with one of the meals they charged us for that as well. They did take off these charges hut this should have been correct from the beginning. If i didn't check they would have made out with an extra $40 on the bill. So they charged me the first bill then voided and charged me again for the second bill which was the corrected bill instead of just reimbursing me the extra money they charged. The kitchen was very slow and the deserts were not what they should have been. Especially at $14 each. First and last time at this place.
My boyfriend and I have been going to Aged since we first started dating 5 years ago. My boyfriend and I went to Aged quite literally last week and had the most superb service. Our waiter was a young man who consistently checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly.
Last night, when my boyfriend and I decided to take his mom to Aged for the first time, it was overall a mediocre experience that just ended with a nice dose of abrupt racism. My boyfriends mom was late, so at least the waitress working was able to accommodate that (although that might be because it was a Monday night).
After we were seated and ordered, one of us requested an extra spoon and fresh pepper - we were ignored repeatedly until finally one of the busboys came and then he forgot. By the time we flagged down the one waitress working, the soup was already cold.
The $1 oysters had a very obvious fishy smell, and one was full of sand.
My strawberry cheesecake was mistaken for regular cheesecake...which was fine, accidents happen. But when my correct order came out, it looked like the person who cut it cut it with a spatula and smashed it onto the plate. Even the busboy who brought it out looked embarrassed.
There was no longer any available sorbet - and my boyfriends mother really wanted the Brûlée - I understand that it is very annoying to be repeatedly asked but I don't understand why she wouldn't be able to substitute her two choices from the prix fixe menu, especially if one was unavailable and she was willing to pay extra to cover the cost? isn't the customer priority??
My boyfriend and I were going to chalk it up as a bad night, but as we got up to leave, the tall skinny white man and someone else had the audacity to start bowing to me while saying "Xie xie". I'm an American, and I may look Chinese, but what if I wasn't? Why assume that? Why bow? What is wrong with your staff, this is absolutely inappropriate. We will never be coming back to Aged.
I purchased a Groupon for 100 dollars- a 3 course dinner for 2. I made a reservation and mentioned I had the Groupon...Big mistake. We were treated like we were begging for a free meal. Food was Just about ok. We were told dessert was just choice of vanilla or chocolate ice cream, no choice from Menu. Total disappointment and waste of 100 bucks.
We love the brunch here, but every time we go, the menu is slightly smaller--something else has been crossed off, or the meal comes with different things than it previously did, while they've also raised the price on brunch slightly. Still, I guess you can't complain too much for $20 entree and bottomless champagne.
My overall experience was just ok. the food was good but the service was atrocious. i was actually surprised because it used to be quite good. the tip was included in the overall bill so that is my guess as to why the waitstaff does not feel like it has to be earned. Will not be returning.
We went here for Mother's Day. Our reservation was not honored. The staff was very nice and polite; but, the restaurant was lacking
The music was way too loud
Our table was dirty. It had to be cleaned again after we sat down.
My burger was cooked too long. It was not good.
I sent my drink back. The bartender did not know how to make a mojito.
The soups were good.
This prices for this place don't match the food served. We won't be back.
