HAD A 6:00 RESERVATION. SHOWTIME 8:00 SEATED ON TIME. THAT WAS THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE. SOUP WAS NOT HOT AND IT WAS RETURNED TO BE HEATED. WE RECEIVED OUR MEALS AND THEN THE SOUP CAME OUT.WE REFUSED THE SOUP. PRIME RIB CAME OUT WARM BUT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED PRIME FAT WITH A LITTLE MEAT ATTACHED. BAKED POTATO WAS NOT HOT. SERVER SHOWED NO INTEREST IN US. SPOKE TO MANAGER AND HE BASICALLY APOLOGIZED BUT DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO DO IT. LAST SURPRISE WAS THE BILL. THEY SNUCK A TIP IN THERE WHICH AT FIRST WE DID NOT SEE. THEY ALMOST GOT A DOUBLE TIP. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME WE HAD A PROBLEM AT AGAVE. WILL NOT GO BACK AGAIN.
The menu and the restaurant has changed- it was
Lit like a Denny’s. The food used to be elegant, now it’s more like a Mexican restaurant, and not a fancy one, just run of the mill. My order was not correct and it was pretty expensive. The wine list was quite pedestrian. My mom said her ribs were good. And the filet was good, but had we not asked to have the spices held back, it might have been not so good.
Not impressed. We used to love it when was a higher end option.
Great restaurant, very enjoyable place for any occasion , reasonable prices.
Great service. Generous servings with the half salad, half sandwich combo. Strawberry short cake was 3 bites and gone. Otherwise, a quality place.
We went for The Prime rib special and to celebrate a friends birthday. We had a lovely dinner. Food was delicious, attractive, and cooked to order correctly. Generous portion of prime rib. We arrived just minutes before the end of happy hour so the hostess gave us happy hour menus for our drinks, very thoughtful as we hadn't even thought about it....But it's always nice to save a few dollars! We always enjoy our meal at The Agave.
Always a nice experience!
The food was good....HOWEVER the problem was that we went expecting the familiar Menu which we researched online, but were presented at the restaurant with a completely NEW menu with all of our favorites missing. No Sea Bass, No Prime Rib, No Tuna.
We did have appetizers which were very good, but were extremely small portions. The Porterhouse steaks were very tasty but had an extremely large amount of Fat and Gristle for the cost of the Steak.
We finished with dessert and Cappuccino which were good. The cheesecake was tasty but a little bit sticky.
Overall the service was attentive and while the food was prepared and served well, it's debatable as to whether the value was what would be expected.
The four of us that went for a gathering before two of our friends left were all disappointed with the change of menu.
The chicken mole was very disappointing. Skin on chicken breast with a crusted mole on it. No mole sauce to speak of.
Had we been prepared for the change we may have changed our plans. 2 of us looked forward to the Seafood Stew and another to the Prime Rib. So only 1 was satisfied with their choice. Although good NOT terrific as it was with former menu.
Food was excellent! Menu is creative and the chef updates it regularly. Always something new and different to try.
They seem to have gone "trendy" and not necessarily in a good way. All seafood has been paired with pork - leaving people who object to meat but are okay with fish in a bind. Everything seems to be served with kale or "trendy fungus" or some other odd-ball side. Lots of vinegar and spicy stuff - no regular sauces for either the appetizers or entrees. The sliced bread from the supermarket was better then the brown-and-serve rolls that they used to serve.
Birthday celebration was made very special by restaurant.
Always good service and a nice atmosphere. Food is very good and they have nice array of choices on the menu. We had the ribs (always delicious!) the lamb chop special (great) and salmon. Salmon was overcooked for me but I forgot to request rare. It was still delicious.
The food was excellent as always the atmosphere and service top notch.
Went there for wife’s birthday. Food was great and the presentation was good. Surprised that a piece of chocolate cake was brought to the table for the birthday, nice surprise. Will be going back.
Great prime rib! We will go again and recommend to friends.
We enjoyed the meal and a table by the window. Our server was attentive and friendly but not
intrusive. The birthday dessert for the individual we were celebrating at our table was a special touch. Thanks for an excellent experience!
Agave serves consistently good food at a very reasonable price. It’s not in the casino if that is a concern. The prime rib and BBQ rib specials are not to be missed. The vegetarian in our group loves the cauliflower steak. We eat out frequently and she thinks it is one of the most creative and flavorful vegetarian dishes she has anywhere. Thanks to the chef for doing such a great job.
Another very nice meal at Agave. Food and presentation were excellent . It is also very nice to have a good restaurant in Sahuarita, where the best available are fast food establishments.
I believe they are regaining some quality that they had lost for a time. My steak had bold flavors and the trimmings were good.
Our server was very attentive.
They could do a couple of things better. They could spark up their wine list a little. The choices, while very affordable, are not inspiring. Get some nice dinner rolls. Pieces of sandwich bread don't cut it.
But don't let me discourage anyone from visiting. The food was good and the prices reasonable. Try it and see what you think.
Our waitress was excellent. Very attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent as usual. We got the 2 for one prime rib.
We dined at Agave Restaurant before attending the Morris Day and the Time concert in the Diamond Center. Because there was an event that evening, we were offered the Concert Menu, a somewhat abbreviated version of the regular dinner menu. While there were a few things missing from the full menu, there were plenty of good things to choose from. My husband and I started with an order of deviled eggs, which were beautifully presented and quite tasty! We were tempted to order another appetizer, but instead opted for the prime rib dinner (X2). The serving of meat was generous and delicious and perfectly to the temperature ordered. It was plated with a large portion of mashed potatoes, root vegetables, and horseradish sour cream. Yum! Ordering a second appetizer would have been overkill. My husband had two craft beers, and I had two glasses of Pinot Noir. Our bill was in the $80 range, which I thought was very reasonable for this fine meal. The service was spot-on, not rushed, but efficient as many in the restaurant were headed to the concert afterward. Great meal, great concert, great evening!
Food was excellent tasting and a great price for quality ingredients and beautiful plate presentation
Setting was modern; tables seated 4 comfortably. Service was prompt; server was pleasant. Food presentation was delightful. One glitch: food did not arrive until after a long delay. This was addressed by the restauant--meals were comped. Left us with a better overall impression.
Fire alarm went off. We were assured it was not in our area and didn’t need to evacuate but the alarm siren continued for 20 minuets and was not silenced during our dinner. It was maddening and ruined our dinner. In no way did management compensate the patrons. I was so tense I got a headache. Very unpleasant. Food was good. Service was adequate.
Excellent prime rib. Strawberry margarita special treat.
Perfect in every sense.
Prime rib was perfectly prepared. Our server Brittany was most accommodating. Veggies done just right.
Wonderful food, amazing service. 5 star dining at a very reasonable price. We love this place.
Wish the food was more fitting to the area and Arizona environment.
My wife and I enjoyed the prime rib dinner for two. We were surprised that the menu did not match the one on your web site, but no problem. Prime rib was excellent as was the service.
We will be back and recommend it to our friends!
You can't beat the prime rib special. The portion is more than just "Average"
We had a nice meal with friends. Food and service were excellent. We always enjoy our meals at Agave.
We had a great time with friends celebrating Valentine’s a day after. Better then fighting the crowds and would do that again. The servers were very cordial and food was good.
My husband and I went for Valentine's day. We had reservations ans got seated right away. The food was perfect! We also visit Agave on our anniversary every year.
LOVE this place.
Open Table was very effective. As busy as the restaurant we were seated in 5 minuets. Food was special presentation.
The restaurant was packed as it was Valentines Day.. but, I had made reservations and we were seated right away. The food and service were wonderful. I had scallops which were very good, mu husband had steak and lobster and was very pleased with both. Our waitress has several large groups as well as smaller tables, but she was very attentive to everyone needs. It was a great experience and we will be going there again in the near future.
My wife and I celebrated Valentines Day at Agave this year. We had an elegant swordfish dinner and excellent service. I would highly recommend Agave for special occasions.
We had the Valentine's Menu to choose from. The steak and lobster were outstanding an so was the dessert.
Excellent meal and service. We enjoy Agave very much and it is very close to our home.
Thanks again for a wonderful evening Agave!
My husband and I enjoy having lunch at the Agave. They generally have lunch specials which include dessert for a good price. The tortilla soup is very good, my husband's favorite.
