Agave Restaurant at Desert Diamond Casino Ratings and Reviews
Higher end food and service than the average with reasonable prices. We have had the rib eye and filet meals and found both if them to be exxellent. The presentation of the food is synonymous with higher end dining. Side dishes are prepared with the same care and finish of the entree, resulting in a truly delicious plate.
One would expect that in a casino atmosphere you would be able to locate the restaurant easily. This however is not the case, as we ( and other first timers ) had to ask directions, finding accessed from the courtyard area.
During the online booking process I was asked if an occasion was being celebrated that evening. As it was my wife's 65 birthday I indicated so, resulting in a decorative and delicious surprise for her at the end of the meal.
Great food, Great service....Bravo Agave!
This restaurant is located at the Desert Diamond Casino. It has a lovely setting separate from the casino but a few steps through the outdoor patio takes you into the casino. Menu includes surf and turf, variety of dishes, weekly specials.
Service is VERY good and meals are quite tasty and a good value.
Always fun to visit the casino while there as well.
Edoardo our waiter was wonderful! But it was impossible to get a reservation for 20 people. We tried to do it online even called the restaurant but could not get the reservation until right before we left to go to the restaurant. We would not have chosen a Agavq had we not already planned to go with a group of people.
Had reservations and were seated promptly. Our server was very pleasant, efficient and noted that I asked for the check because it was my husband's birthday. Our prime rib was served as ordered (medium rare), but it could have been a bit more tender. My husband received a superb small birthday cake, which we both enjoyed.
The restaurant was less than 25% full and still service was very slow. I ordered the beef bourguignon - the meat was good but all of the veggies were way too salty - inedible - even though I like salt. My meal was comp'ed but then I left hungry. My dining companions enjoyed their meals.
My husband and I enjoy dining at the Agave. We go there often. Food is great and well priced. I also am responsible for arranging luncheon outings for three ladies groups during season, and I always plan on the Agave as being one of our dining delights. The waitresses and hostess are very friendly and good at their jobs. I would highly recommend the Agave to all.
The four of us have eaten at Agave many times, but had been months since we were there. I understand they have a new chief. The Sunday night prime rib was the reason we went this time. The bread was the worst I have had at a restaurant! Store sliced white bread with a tasteless lard spread. Terrible! The breads they use to have was so good. Why a nice restaurant cant include a small dinner salad!!! Each couple ordered a wedge salad to share. It was $9 and the smallest salad I have ever seen. There was no way they could split it on 2 plates as nothing would be on either. It was good, as little of it as there was. Even the dirty steam was left on the lettuce. The meat was good, but the au jau was so salty and artificial tasting. The garlic mashed potatoes had 0 garlic or seasonings. Very bland but was presented nicely. The vegies were OK. The waitress was spread so thin, it took at least 20 min to get our drinks. We had to ask 3 times to get drink refils. This was all very sad as it use to be a nice dinner place.
They changed the menu to offer less, not near as good as the old menu. They had a nice bread basket that they did away with in place of a white bread with unsalted butter. They took a step in the wrong direction. The food that we did order was however very good as was the service.
We saw the $35 for 2 prime rib dinners so we decided to go, we had not been to the Agave restaurant for a couple of years, when the prime rib for 2 was $25 and some years before that it was even less including a glass of wine each. We invited 2 other couples so we were a party of 6. The first table they wanted to seat us at was under a very cold AC vent so were given a table for 8 in the middle of the restaurant. Good waiter, 3 margaritas, 2 glasses of wine and a burbon 7. Everyone ordered the prime rib but 1 and she ordered pthe salmon. Service good, dinners came quick, everything looked cooked as ordered. My MR was just right, wife's medium well was right, not dried out. Salmon was great, the Agave makes really good mashed potatoes. My wife and I split a cream burlee which was superb! One person complained about the PR but I think it was great. We would go again when we want to have a nice dinner,
