Agave Ratings and Reviews
Really not a Mexican Theme restaurant. Beans were whole brown beans, not refried. Rice was white, not Mexican rice and very little Mexican items with cheese. Food taste was OK, nothing special. More of a general menu, look on line before you go. Price were fair.
Agave was OUTSTANDING for its decor, service, food quality and friendly helpful waiters and staff. Our daughter had recommended Agave to us several times in recent years, and she was absolutely correct ... we were delighted by our dinner and evening at Agave. Thank you ... we’ll be back soon and often 👍🏻😃
Not your average Mexican/American restaurant though there are a few items on the menu to please those only familiar with tacos. The menu was creative with some different options with a Mexican flair. The guacamole prepared table-side was quite good but skip the bacon. The margaritas were good too. Nice atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. Good for a casual evening with family and friends.
A very nice place run by very nice people. Food is good to great. A nice menu selection. A bit pricey, particularly on drinks . Strongly suggest reservation as it is an issue on how they manage their seating. They don't seem to be as knowledgeable as they need t be. Some of it could just be their desire to make sure they can serve everyone timely. If you like up scale Mexican you won't be disappointed.
The food was OK. The guacamole was just fair even though it was made to order. The carne asada was good. My friends had osso bucca, shrimp and lobster quesadillas and a taco salad. My friend said the quesadillas was just OK. The osso bucca and taco salad were good. We still want to find a better place for Mexican food.
Our table did not seem to be assigned to anyone even though I made a reservation in advance. We waited a very long time for someone to take our drinks order, then they were not delivered for about 10 minutes, and then another long wait before our dinner order was taken.
Some of our chips were nice and crispy but some were rubbery and stale.
Entrees were tasty.
The free desert was not good.
I might go back but I won't rush into it.
Being a Vegetarian I usually find it easy to eat Mexican. But not many choices here. I asked for a Vegetarian Quesadilla and was told sorry can't do that. No spinach,Mushrooms or Zucchini.
So I ordered the Cauliflower tacos. Which were delicious. I wanted a side of refried beans. But they do not have those either. Never have I been to a Mexican restaurant without refried beans.
I like that the menu is varied beyond the typical Mexican restaurant. I had the shrimp and grits, which were delicious, although a bit salty. Not really Mexican, but the chorizo in the dish made it more so I guess. Lots of shrimp and tasty cheesy grits. My friend had the shrimp and lobster quesadilla and it was excellent. We had the sangria, but next time I will try a margarita - while tasty, it didn't seem to have much alcohol in it.
Great service- quick, friendly and helpful. Nice menu- not huge but plenty to choose from. Everything we ate was delicious! Have 2 sets of friends, that each went on different nights, who all raved about their meals too. Bonus- lots of fun margaritas to try. Easy parking.
Everything was wonderful except we were cold and could actually feel a breeze. It wasn't that hot outside so we had to ask one of the servers if the AC could be turned down a little. We saw other people choosing other tables too because of trying to be out of the draft. It's hard to enjoy a meal when you are all tensed up.
The food was delicious. We loved having the guacamole prepared right at our table, and it was exceptionally good. Each of enjoyed our meals greatly.
Very good guacamole to start our dinner. Margaritas were a bit watery - too much ice. Rib appetizer was delicious. Calamari app was a bit scant. Our dinner companions had the tortilla soup and loved it. They also had the lobster and shrimp quesadillas and raved about the dish. WE all had the tacos - our chicken and spicy cauliflower tacos were dry and not very tasty. Our companions were very happy with their sirloin tacos. We all agreed Agave is a resto we would return to.
Management and front of the house staff was superb. So was our server Ashley. I hosted a large group of friends for Happy Hour followed by Dinner. We did not all arrive at the same time and the staff was very accommodating! We had a nice table for just us near the east side of the restaurant. The room in which we dined was pretty warm and our server told us that the fans on the ceiling could only be turned on using a ladder. Horribly impractical once we were in our seats. Except for the room temp it was a great night for my friends and me.
