AG at The Sterling Ratings and Reviews
Kelly was amazing from our appearance till we left she was all over us. Her knowledge and recommendations were much appreciated we will be back. The food was hot creative and tasty the wine was fabulous and properly priced. We highly recommend it to everyone
My boyfriend and I chose this restaurant for our Valentine’s Day dinner and we were really impressed!! Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable and the food was nicely presented and all round excellent!! The Beef Tenderloin was to die for!! Best I’ve ever had anywhere. Our experience was truly spectacular!
Absolute world class. The hostess who greeted us was incredibly spacey and having a hard time seating us although the restaurant was not busy at all. He then tried to deliver our wine to the wrong table and we had overheard some other spacey moments he was having with other customers. This didn't damper the experience at all though. We had bread and a sampler of duck confit couscous delivered to our table while waited for our meals. We had a package with the hotel that came with a 3 course meal. I ordered the clam appetizer, and my partner ordered the wild boar fusilli. Both were DELICIOUS. The clams came with a side of kale salad and oh my god I would kill to find out what the dressing was. It was sweet, delicious and absolutely flavor perfection. My partners fusilli was also to die for, it had a really smokey flavor and the boar meat was tender. For main dishes, I ordered the venison and my partnered ordered the beef tenderloin. Presentation is IMPECCABLE. The plates looked absolutely beautiful. The venison came with 5 slices of meat and a venison pot pie with two bites of a roasted brussel sprouts salad. Oh my god, I could have eaten a bathtub full of those brussel sprouts. It was DELICIOUS. The venison was amazing, I just wish it came with more meat, I felt like I was being teased. I was worried I wasn't going to be full, but by the time desert came around I was fine. My boyfriends beef tenderloin was MELT IN YOUR MOUTH GOODNESS. He had it medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. Even the spinach in the meal tasted like heaven. Both dishes had to die for sauces. For desert, I had the pumpkin pie cheesecake and he had the creme brule. Both were delicious, we were really surprised to find that we were really full out of dinner, despite portions being a little on the small side. I will definitely come back. The ambiance is so romantic and I felt like I was falling inlove with my partner all over again. Thank you AG for the amazing experience!
This was our 4th trip back to AG! We couldn't have a better place to go each year for our anniversary! Kelly and all the staff are so accommodating to us! We take about 5 hours to have our supper there as we have cocktails, appetizers, entrees, dessert and after dinner drinks!
My wife and I were given a lovely table and treated very well during our 10th anniversary dinner. We would absolutely recommend this place to our family and friends. The menu is a creative chef-driven local menu with a solid artistic component. Our dishes were exactly as promised, and delectable. Pricey, but a good value for money in my opinion.
Loved Sarah Boulton she was just the right sound for our favourite restaurant. Loved our meals as usual, but the hit of the night for me was the Bavarian Cream with caramelized apples. Delicious! Also really enjoyed the amuse bouche. Could definitely eat a whole bowl of that if you decide to put it on the menu. Maple crema was an excellent touch.
Amazing Dinner !! - Had dinner on Wednesday night for my birthday. Turned out Wednesdays bottles of wine are 50% off - my husband, a sommelier, thought he died and went to heaven! We had a lovely private booth which I requested in my reservation. The food was amazing - farm to table and very interesting pairings. The curried squash soup, the harrisa scented wild boar fusilli, venison, lamb shank were incredible. So much more reasonable then Toronto or winery restaurants in the area. We will recommend to all our friends.
Service was excellent and friendly. Food was also very good. The field to table menu was fabulous and the pork wellington was probably one of the best pork dishes I've ever had. Cocktails were not my favorite; I would stick to wine, beer, or cider. Ambiance is trendy steakhouse.
I found it a bit odd at first that the restaurant was located downstairs (no windows) but, after being seated by one of the delightful staff and taking in the stylish decor, that was quickly forgotten. Our waitress gave us a quick explanation of the restaurant's farm-to-table ethos and the local delights featured on the menu.
The cocktails we ordered (Manhattan, Caesar) were the best we'd had in ages. The appetizers (AG Farm Tender Leaves Salad, Garlic and Parsley Creamed Escargot) were exceptional; the ingredients used were fresh and vibrant. Both entrées (Fennel Pollen Roasted Arctic Char, Mulled Cider Glazed Loin of Venison) were delicious. The sweet potato gnocchi was fantastically light and pillowy! The pot pie, however, left something to be desired. The pastry was dry and on the salty side, and not flaky as I had expected. The dessert menu was very appealing though we did not order any.
The live music that began partway through our meal was lovely. It was not so loud that we couldn't continue conversing, though we both were too occupied by our delicious dishes!
The staff were all friendly, good-humoured, and seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. Great atmosphere. Fantastic food. We would highly recommend AG Cuisine to anyone visiting Niagara and looking for an exceptional dining experience. I hope to dine here if we visit the Falls again!
Very good food and very good ambiance. The price is quite expensive for food, but the quality of the food is excellent. Great for special occasions and such. The bar menu should be improved a bit and the cocktails need to be made with less ice, as it seemed a little watered down. Or maybe use bigger ice cubes, would be better. Overall, very good, and the criticisms are very nit-picky. Would definitely recommend.
It was our second time here. Their tasting menu has been pared down to three courses. I believe it used to be 4 or even 5. Too bad because from what we remember that pairing menu was amazing.
We ordered off the a l carte menu. Ordered the charcuterie board to start. No cheeses or crackers, just meats and jams/jellies. It was ok.
The mains were the scallops and the sirloin. Only 3 scallops and some broccoli sprinkled with some couscous. The spiced sauce for the scallops didn't really help much. They were, however, well cooked.
The sirloin was perfectly cooked and tender. The potato rosti underneath was quite soggy but flavourful since it sat on top of the au jus and under the sirloin.
The chocolate and espresso creme brûlée was different and quite nice.
The menu is always changing so you can't rely on what's posted here on OpenTable.
We'll be back to see what's new.
A great place for a quiet dinner, delicious food and wine, and outstanding service. Our waitress was attentive, a well-spoken and a clear communicator with fantastic knowledge of the products, a calming presence, great suggestions, and made the experience memorable.
Service was impeccable. Our servers were professional, courteous and gave us wonderful recommendations.
We dined on a Thursday and took part on the “date night” special. We selected the half hen and upgraded to the tenderloin.
Both appetizers were exquisite, food was hot and full of flavour. We had the Bavarian cream for dessert and it was just the right finishing touch to our comforting meal.
Kelly and Erika (our apologies if I have misspelled your names) were so wonderful.
We were there in the off-season in November, and while a bit chilly and windy outside, it set a lovely atmosphere in the warm and cozy restaurant.
Our server was so nice and knowledgeable about the area. We were the first to arrive when the doors opened for lunch so we got a great view of the falls. The food was okay. I'm guessing in relationship to temperature, They're "medium"is a little more on the well done side so the meat was a little over cooked for my liking. The vegetables were very bland. Was on a schedule so didn't send it back. The spinach dip was so creamy and tasty. Overall a nice place to stop for lunch.
