Afternoon Tea Parlour
Very good value for money. Child friendly too. Lovely food, and if you can't manage it all they are happy to prove a box to take the rest home.
The welcome to the hotel was lovely, and we were shown to our table very quickly.
Everything very well explained and our order was taken quickly. The afternoon tea was wonderful.
Overall food and service was excellent and I would definitely go back.
Very enjoyable and a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon
Staff polite and attentive. Drinks and food arrived promptly. Delicious scones, good selection of sandwiches. Cakes not all to our taste, sickly, but that is individual taste.
We spent a very pleasant afternoon for my husband’s birthday the only letdown was it was advertised as a sea view but it wasn’t.

The afternoon tea was excellent and the service too - just
Slightly let down by the room itself as there is nothing outstanding decor wise - just an ordinary room.
It was lovely! Food was perfect, cakes were delicious! Staff were very friendly and helpful :)
When we arrived, we gave our names and no one had any idea of where to sit us even though they knew we was there for afternoon tea. The food was ok (cakes & scones only). The ambience in the afternoon tea room and the champagne was dreadful (no music, just listening to cheap couples/groups asking for the cheapest drink they serve). Although London prices in Hythe...I can understand slightly but when you are in the moment - Who cares!! Love for the moment!! The only wonderful thing was Ken, he was great (no job too small). Won’t be returning but thank you Ken.
The tea was excellent with service to match. Would thoroughly recommend the experience.
Enjoyed our afternoon tea. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who explained everything. The service was just right. Food was nicely presented. Portions were generous so we took some of the cakes home. It good value.
The hotel handled the greeting very well in the current world conditions. The tea itself was very well presented and excellent quality. Nice selection of sandwiches with various fillings, lovely selection of cakes and perfect scones with enough jam and cream and more available if required. One of our party is vegan and their menu was also excellent. Further tea and coffee was also available if requested. We finished our tea off with a cheeky glass of fizz! Lovely hotel and garden to the front for a little wander too.
Amazing.
Excellent staff, great food. Would recommend and will visit again soon.
Relaxing afternoon enjoying valuable time together and a delicious afternoon tea!
The afternoon tea was okay, but nothing special. Have had better elsewhere. It took half an hour from sitting down to get anything to eat and seemed a little unprepared. Both tables present asked for extra jam for scones, but took a while to get it. This might have been something that could have been expected with afternoon teas? Was also over priced for what was served. Nearly £20 per person is a bit steep. Should be more like £13 -15.
A complete disappointment from start to finish.
A complete opposite to what it says on the web site.
Set in what could be described as a conference room.
no bone China no Victorian tea room and no view of the English channel.
The food is no were near the standard you would expect for £19.99 per head.
certainly wont be back.
Amazing afternoon tea. We were the only people there, as we had booked at 12pm, which suited us fine as it was nice and quiet. Our friendly waiter Ken looked after us as much as we needed but also left us alone to enjoy our time there. The hotel is lovely, modern but has character too. We walked around the grounds afterwards, which were also nice.
Delicious food and impeccable service. 100% worth it and would go again.
Sandwiches was hard and quite tasteless. The cakes wasn’t that nice. Wasn’t fresh. The scones was amazing they was nice and warm only thing enjoyed.
Food was lovely although we did ask if a cucumber sandwich substitute could be made for my vegetarian daughter. I was told it could not as they were too busy, but another table were given a full plate of vegetarian sandwiches....Manager seemed a little put out by some fairly simple requests. Tea room was quite busy. May be more patient during quieter times?
A good quality afternoon tea ,all freshly made sandwiches, warm scones and delicious dessert cakes.
Good choice of sandwich fillings and various teas or coffee.
Lovely setting and brilliant service.
If you can’t manage to eat it all you can take the rest home in a bag.
Very good value for money and menu changed monthly so would definitely go again.
Beautiful and well maintained building. It was very quiet and we were on our own as they had a cancellation. Overall a good experience
The setting and ambience were good.
However, I was a little disappointed with the food. Nothing outstanding considering the price and beautiful setting of a 4 star hotel which led to expectations of something special for the tea.
Sandwiches were OK. My scone was dry and hard. We had to request spoons for the cream and jam (of which there were only small helpings for 4 large scones).
Having had afternoon tea at 2 other venues in the last 12 months, I would say this was the least memorable of the 3.
Sandwich fillings were tasty though very very minimally filled - barely any actual fillings which was very disappointing.
Free hot drink refills which was nice.
Ken the server was lovely and friendly.
Absolutely beautiful afternoon tea. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Highly recommend
Lovely way to spend an afternoon with friends.set in gardens under a marque socially distanced which means lots of space to chat undisturbed .lovely tea esp scones .lovely service by cheerful waitress .well done team hythe imperial.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, and half-price courtesy of the Government Eating-out scheme.
Excellent afternoon tea served in the gardens in a friendly and efficient manner. Very enjoyable on a beautiful afternoon.
Beautiful setting out on the grass under a lovely gazebo and fantastic food and service a great place and lovely Afternoon tea for my mums birthday which she loved.
Highly recommend this for Afternoon tea!
Really enjoyed our afternoon tea here. Staff were very friendly, sandwiches and cakes were delicious. All in all a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.
Fabulous setting , the waitress and waiter were attentive but not intrusive. We were offered to take left over food with us in a box they would provide which we declined but it was kind of them to offer. Well spaced out tables so we felt safe in these Covid -10 times. We will return in the future.
Excellent Afternoon tea and really good value. Service was excellent
We all had a great time with two vegetarian options . Lovely seating area outside and served by the lovely Ken.
Lovely setting if you get weather and it is served in garden as we did
Service a bit slow and not very attentive
Re food sandwiches and scones excellent but cakes were bought in and not worth eating as only tasted of sugar, no flavour
Note Open table price £14.95 is incorrect it is £19.95 per head
Amazing afternoon tea. It was for my birthday and it was completely brilliant. All the staff were so nice and friendly even though the face masks.
I will definitely recommend the hotel and afternoon tea. I will be back soon.
Food was delicious, service was amazing! Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely eat here again.
Probably could have stretched to more than 1 scone per person for£20.
I booked my Mum and I in for afternoon tea whilst staying at The Hythe Imperial. We was met by Chau who showed us to our table, she showed us the menu and took our choices. The food was excellent, the sandwiches were fresh and the scones and cakes were delicious. Service was excellent from Chau. Highly recommend afternoon tea at this establishment.
Great service and lovely food
Extremely pleasant surroundings, very attentive staff, the food wonderful. Special dietary requests all met and made with no fuss. All 4 of us had a wonderful afternoon.
Was acceptable but nothing to write home about. Sandwiches were a bit bland and would rather be asked what bread ( as didn’t want sliced white!!) Cakes ok but nothing special and no Victoria sponge or similar
