My Nana took me here as a birthday present and it was absolutely fantastic. The scones were fresh and warm and the finger sandwiches and desserts were wonderful. The tea was delicious, and the staff was positive and full of knowledge on everything from what countries the tea had come from to history about the brown palace. The atmosphere was astounding and they had live piano music playing the entire time. It was a lot of fun, and I would definitely recommend it. :)
My friend has lived in Denver 23 years and had never had tea so we decided it would be a great place to enjoy girl time together. We were not disappointed. The staff was wonderful, so was the pianist. We had good recommendations for the teas we chose. We’ll be back.
Fantastic afternoon tea and phenomenal service. The atmosphere was refined and elegant, but relaxed. Overall, the Brown Palace is an absolutely stunning stop if you’re in Denver.
My mom and I stopped in for afternoon tea during a recent visit to Denver and we were not disappointed. Attentive staff, tasty bites and excellent tea. Try the Hibiscus and Jasmine tea.
I have been doing Afternoon Tea since I was a little girl growing up in Chicago. The Brown Palace holds a special place in my heart and it's a great way to pass on the tradition with my daughter. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, the service is outstanding, live music
My wife and I went to the Brown Palace this past Sunday afternoon "just because" for a special event. This was our 2nd time. Both times we have found the tea and the pastries exceptional. This is a place where it's OK to linger long at the table, enjoying the ambiance. We would highly recommend High Tea at the Brown Palace to anyone who's seeking an out-of-the-ordinary experience!
We enjoyed a girls tea. A bit pricey, but an experience to enjoy! Beautiful atmosphere!
Lovely afternoon tea with live piano music, beautiful surroundings and attentive staff. There is no bad seat - but may be less busy if seated away from the station where wait staff replenish tea/food. We arrived early to our reservation and were seated immediately. Pricey, but worth it for a formal tea experience.
Service was great as well as the food. The price is very high for what you get.
Afternoon Tea is always a wonderful girl time. My daughter-in-law, my granddaughter and I have enjoyed this experience several times in the past.
Nice for a special occasion, but definately not worth the money. Friendly and efficient staff
It was a fun girls gathering to catch up with friends downtown in a historic building, while enjoying tea!
Such a beautiful hotel delicious treats and stellar service!
The perfect special occasion experience! My friend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time!
There was a 30 minute wait to be seated despite having a reservation and it appeared at least two of three tables were open. Service was a little slow although once the food arrived wait people were attentive.
It was such a fun experience at the Brown Place. Beautiful surroundings, table setting, and food. Would recommend getting the kir royale cocktail to start. The egg salad and scones were especially delightful.
The Brown Palace afternoon tea is a marvelous tradition with great service in a perfectly beautiful setting. The scones are warm and wonderful, especially with the whipped cream/butter? The sandwiches, however, lacked flavor and had been made much to far ahead. The turkey sandwich bread was fine, but the egg and the cucumber sandwich breads were seriously soggy. I am sure the desserts were lovely, but I was too full to eat even one.
Good experience but wish they had a decaf option for black tea other than earl grey. Also, was a bit pricy for tea. Level of service was very good and the atmosphere was noisy but pleasent.
Afternoon tea at the Brown Palace has become an annual event for me and my team. It is a special afternoon out of the office. The ambiance is fantastic. An absolutely lovely setting. Nice assortment of sandwiches and sweets. Always good service. Very relaxing.
Tea time at the Brown Palace is always enjoyable. It makes celebrating a friend’s 80th birthday an extra special event.
I took my mother here for Valentine's Day when she visited from out of town. The ambiance and history are like no other! Lovely selection of tea, pastries, and delicate sandwiches.
Fun adventure with family. Definitely an amazing experience
For more years than I like to admit, at least 4 generations of my family have enjoyed afternoon tea at The Brown Palace❣️The servers are articulate, professional, friendly and accommodating. The grand piano player was magnificent❣️ Our relaxing, lingering tea time was enjoyed immensely❣️Thank you❣️ Please do not ever change anything about this very special experi nce👍🤗❤️‼️
The space was amazing the food was good the tea was great! The waitress was upset when we asked for a few more sandwiches but when I had been here before I was told that they are unlimited. So for $40 not really sure if it was worth three finger sandwiches and some scones. But the time spent with friends was nice.
Poor service. Didn't ask about dietary restrictions, offer options or check on us. Overpriced for lower quality food; dry, stale scones, milk had particles in it and was warm, overall flavor pairings were not 5 star but mediocre. Advertised as having high standards but was subpar in terms of food quality and service. Would have been justified if lower price but the overall experience was somewhat tacky with a pretense of elegance.
Tea was a disappointment. We were seated right next to the piano and it was impossible to talk. It was actually a relief every time the pianist took a break between songs. All three of us were relieved when the experience was over and we left. No one should be seated RIGHT NEXT to the piano.
The food was ok, but nothing special. The scones were good. The cucumber and egg salad sandwiches were soggy. The sweets were extremely sweet and akin to what you might get out of a candy box.
I left a message for the food and beverage manager to give feedback and have not even received the courtesy of a call back.
I am from New Mexico where we have excellent Teas at St. James Tearoom an St. Francis Hotel.
Pretty pricey for what you get, service was good, band was good, loved they had a cigar lounge so close
By, we had a good time probably a one time deal.
The service and food was very good, the atmosphere was so nice. A great place for girls get together. I would also go there for happy hour.
Put on the reservation that it was for a 30th birthday but no one acknowledged it even though several other tables got a song from the piano and a treat. Otherwise very good.
We had an unfortunate experience. We were served moldy food. After bringing it to their attention we were told they had issues with rotating food. They didn’t offer ANY form of compensation. It was unfortunate, because I am an afternoon tea aficionado, and this was my first visit. I have two more reservations for the Brown Palace booked, so I’m hopeful for a better experience next time. I won’t write off any place for one bad experience.
Wonderful experience! The Brown Palace always serves a delicious, elegant afternoon tea.
We three sisters had a delightful occasion at the Brown Palace Afternoon Tea. We shared memories, love and laughter. Thank you for a lovely experience.
My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine's Day with High Tea at the Brown Palace, it's something we had both been looking forward to. We had saved money specifically for this since we knew it was a little pricey and drove up from Fort Collins. The whole experience was unfortunately very underwhelming to the point where I almost wanted to leave mid way through. We were seated at a table and waited almost 10 minutes before our waitress came, she was brisk and asked what tea we wanted - no explanation on the beautiful hotel or the menu, etc. Just overall lack of attentiveness it was quite obvious she didn't want to be there yesterday. We had to ask to have our waters, teas and sandwiches refilled, she was going to explain the foods and forgot to come back over to do so and finally she got our final bill wrong. She charged us for a completely different tea experience than we had ordered. The saving grace of our experience was the wonderful pianist, he interacted with us and played requests. I would not recommend High Tea to anyone else.
We were from out of town, and heard about the amazing afternoon tea. Let me tell you it was AMAZING. The Brown Palace was absolutely breathtaking , the tea area was quite but had a nice pianist play very appropriate tea music . The tea and tray of goodies was elegant and fun to try everything. The desserts was our favorite part. If, your going with two or more people make sure you take up the offer to get another tray of goodies, you can always take them home!
Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace Hotel was delighful--a relaxing special treat while we were at a conference. The scones, sandwiches and sweets were delicious, as was the tea, and the service could not have been bettered. A pianist added even more charm to the event. If you find yourself in Denver, a wonderful city to visit, make sure you book the Tea. You won't be disappointed.
My wife and I had a wonderful tea service for an early Valentines. Sandwiches were perfect and the tea exquisite. Best high tea in Denver.
I think it's a very special place, but it does seem that as the cost for tea has gone up, the accompanying treats have gotten smaller. The wait staff was just average for a place that is supposed to be high end.
The bathroom was really terrible. It was so hot and uncomfortable. There was trash/paper towels all over the place, and the soap containers were empty and close to empty.
Sadly, my last two experiences at the Brown Palace have been mostly embarrassing for them. On the surface, you feel like you've stepped back in time and it's like being on the Titanic. But in experience, it has these blatant elements of neglect and an unattended fast food chain.
Under different management, the Brown Palace could be incredible. But there are just too many wonderful food option in Denver to really ever recommend the Brown Palace to anyone except a walk through and maybe tea.
My granddaughter’s and sister-in-law’s birthdays are the same day just before Valentine’s Day so our tradition for 9 years has been to celebrate with 7-8 people for afternoon high tea. What a treat! The service is beautiful, the food is good, but, most of all, the lovely decor and elegance of The Brown Palace are the best! Near holidays, especially Christmas, reserve several months in advance.
