Our waiter was very personable and friendly and gave us good recommendations on both food and drink. Upon learning that it was our anniversary, the owner came and personally presented us with a free, extra dessert. Great place!

Outstanding as usual. This is a hidden gem in an older strip mall south of Springfield and close to 95. Food is over the top tasty. Wait staff is attentive without intruding and offers helpful info on the dishes to help selection. This was our first visit mid-week and it is much quieter than on a Friday or Saturday. Lamb shanks are over the top good but they have plenty of veg and other options.

Lovely as always. I used to live a few blocks from bistro aracosia that i live further away. Afghan bistro is my closest of their restaurants. Excellent food and service as always. One of my favorite places.

Have been to Afghan Bistro Springfield location a number of times and come back because of the service and the food. There is something for everyone whether you’re a vegan, vegetarian or carnivore. They are very accommodating, explain the different dishes and answer any questions you have. This a hidden gem that many people don’t know about, but I think the word is getting out. Highly recommend making a reservation because I’ve seen people be turned away. Hope you will try if you haven’t already and I know you will definitely enjoy.

I had heard the Bistro was good -- and found it to be truly exceptional. I brought my brother and two nieces for dinner, visiting from out West. They were amazed at every dish arriving at the table. We decided to share everything so we could try as many delicacies as possible. Would highly recommend! I'll be back.

As usual, the food was excellent. The three of us shared the Pumpkin Dumpling Appetizer (Vegetarian Option). It was delicious. I was in a meat-eating mood, so I had the Bistro Signature Mix Grill Mazza as my entrée. All the meats were cooked the perfection and were very tasty. My wife had one of the stews. Unfortunately, I can't remember which one. I had a taste; my impression: the chicken was cooked to perfection, the rice was delicious, and the side was very tasty. Our friend had the Spicy Risotto with Eggplant and Butternut Squash. She raved about it. I had told the restaurant that our friend was celebrating her birthday. At the end of the meal, they brought out a piece of cake that was delicious. (I think it was the cardamom milk cake). The restaurant wasn't crowded (we were there for lunch), so it was very quiet. We've had dinner at Afghan Bistro. The room is a bit noisier then. Our server was excellent. He was attentive and very helpful. The restaurant isn't fancy, so if you're looking for a high-end experience, this isn't it. But if you're looking for excellent Afghan food in a friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go. This is one of the (if not THE) best Afghan restaurants in the DMV.

I have never been so impressed by a restaurant as I have been here. I've seen great reviews and they're solid. The dinner started with homemade bread and four sauces for dipping - this could have been my entire meal as the sauces were each different and delicious. My wife and I both had lamb dishes. I had a lamb shank that melted in my mouth. My wife had the Lamb Tenderloin with roasted eggplant - very good as well. The restaurant is very small and comfortable. The wait staff are very helpful if there are any questions. We plan to become regulars for lunch as well.

As always, the food and service were excellent. The only downside is that it is so small, therefore, crowded and loud. But the wonderful food compensates for that.

Glad I found this place thanks to a friend. I’ve been several times now and the food is always delicious and there are a many options to satisfy everyone your party. Portions are very good and I’ve even taken enough home for another small meal. Service and attentiveness is just what you want, but not too much. Highly recommend anyone looking for authentic Afghan food full of flavor and delicious. Recommend making reservations either by calling or online.

Absolutely spectacular food (they recently rolled out a fully vegan menu in addition to the regular non-veg menu, which was spectacular!), great service and attention, and overall wonderful dinner. The restaurant is unfortunately small, so tables are close by and it's pretty tight, making the ambiance a little less private. But that doesn't take anything away from the delicious food and grade-A service. Highly recommend!
