Our dinner was outstanding as was our waitress, Katie
Not as many food choices as hoped. We had put “Anniversary” on our reservation but got no recognition.
The food was good. The cod was great as was the asparagus. Very low key but that was ok.
Excellent good and great service. The best view available anywhere in the area.
Spectacular view, friendly and attentive service. The food was quite good. Price was reasonable but on the high end.
Very upscale yet not pricey. The view is outstanding from shopping area to golf course to the bay.
Bronzini Was delicate and buttery with rich creamy sauce and sweetcorn crunch. Barrata cheese paired well with arugula pesto but not the balsamic 🍐 pears. Ahi cooked just right, awesome and large portion. Server a lovely person and well trained. The view was superb, matching the cuisine. Must return to sample the desserts.
We chose Aerie for our anniversary dinner because we wanted a view of the bay. We were not disappointed as the view was spectacular. The food was delicious with very special sauces on everything from the mussels for an appetizer to the sea bass entree. Our server, Patrick, did an excellent job and Max was helpful with our wine selection.
We came here for our 5th anniversary for fillets and bourbon and it did not disappoint, the view of the sunset over the bay is one of the best I have ever seen.
The presentation of the salmon entrée was outstanding. The accompaniment of prosciutto wrapped asparagus in a Hollandaise was excellent. The roasted pork entrée that my wife was served had a "kick" and was very tasty. Patrick served our table. He was knowledgeable of the menu items, had good timing, and was just chatty enough to make us feel welcome. We have already lined up friends for a dinner there next week!
Always enjoy the brunch and the amazing view. But there is always something strange with the wait staff that does not match the rest of the experience. This time the dirty table cloth from the previous guest was rolled up on one of the chair and the waitress kept trying to clear plates before we were done. Nothing that distracts from how much we enjoyed our visit, just out of sync with the rest of the expirience. Looking forward to our next visit!
The staff from the manager Mr. Truck to our waitress and the bus staff were outstanding and went our of their way to make us feel welcome. We had a grand meal and a grand time.
It was good. No flexibility in moving to a better table even though the restaurant was not busy. Servers having sections was the excuse. Expected a bit more flexibility. Food was good, liked the plate presentation. Service was above average but could have increased the average check if he was reading our table the right way. Timing of meals worked out well. Cocktails were very good. Restaurant needs to update their glassware, it was more Banquet style than restaurant look and feel. Update the uniforms as well please. Should be more progressive than using a Banquet server style best and black pants. But overall, it was good. The salmon and steak were cooked perfectly.
We were spending several nights in the Grand Traverse Hotel on business, and decided to eat in the hotel restaurant, Aerie, the first night. We had planned eating in Traverse City the next two nights. Our meal was so outstanding we spent each night of our stay dining in house. The food was delicious, unique and original, beautifully presented, and an absolute find so close to our rooms. The waitstaff was attentive and the service perfect. We will be back!
Word class views. Server Rose was knowledgeable about menu and helpful with selections. Artichoke appetizer was terrific and the tuna entree was outstanding. Good selection of scotch and nice wines by the glass. Beautiful evening.
Sunday brunch for Mother's Day, excellent variety and quality of breakfast and lunch foods with a dessert bar. I really enjoy their maple flavored sausage, and the eggs benedict, substituting smoked salmon for Canadian bacon, were the best I ever had. Sixteen floors high in the Grand Traverse Resort offers an outstanding view over the bay.
Excellent menu and venue. Staff was gracious and accommodating.
Beautiful view..lovely place for a special dinner
Everything was good food could have been a little warmer...
We had dinner at 7:00 PM on a Wednesday night. Great view until fog rolled in but you can't control the weather! Staff very helpful and not pushy at all and since it was our first time Patrick was more than helpful explaining the menu and options.
Bronzini was sort of fishy. Very pricey. Could have used more menu choices.
Great food. Service was quite slow but luckily we were in relax mode. Nearly 75 minutes to receive our main entries.
We went to Aerie to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. I requested a view not knowing that there is not a table in the restaurant that has a bad view of the bay. It was breathtaking to see the sun set during dinner. The food was amazing. It was all very fresh with many local ingredients. We went back for Sunday brunch and the selection was impressive and delicious. It was an amazing way to start and finish the weekend for sure.
Always a joy to dine here, with fantastic views of the Bay, good service, and interesting regional food selections.
We did the Sunday brunch because it was recommended by a coworker- 10 stars! It was beautiful and delicious. Sitting on the 16th floor with the view of the bay was breathtaking. I don’t think there was a bad seat in the house! Our server, Pat, was super friendly and asked about our weekend and gave us ideas of more things to do. I wasn’t sure about the $22.95 price tag but it was well worth it! This is a must if you’re in Traverse City!
Our dinner was a special occasion - birthday and anniversary. Staff was professional and very friendly. The view (and sunset) was spectacular! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Definitely recommend for the Sunday brunch. Omelette station was excellent and many other choices! Patrick, our server was awesome. An overall excellent experience!
We enjoyed a delightful dinner, at every level, at Aerie!! Would highly recommend this amazing spot for its outstanding service, quality and presentation of our dinner and the scenic atmosphere. The restaurant is a true gem!
Everything was awesome, Devin, our server, was was very good. Couldnt ask for a better anniversary dinner.
Really love this place. Came last year for our anniversary and we are going to make it a yearly event.
We were extremely excited about Easter brunch on Sunday, but were disappointed with selection and service. My wife and I are both managers in the hospitality industry and maybe our expectations are higher then most, but the service seemed chaotic and not consistent. No one seemed assigned to tables, and I think we counted four different types of server uniforms, including a couple servers without name badges. It all went down hill from the moment we entered the room, the hostess seemed bored and unenthusiastic and no attempt was made to make light conversation. This was our first time in your restaurant and weren't quite sure how it all worked so a little small talk would have went a long way on the way to our table. The food selection was decent, but nothing stood out, especially dessert. I have to say the omelet station was very good and the gentleman working was very polite. Another opportunity missed was that we were never offered additional alcoholic drinks after our first free one. We were willing to have a few more, but were never approached. I expect to pay higher prices for this type of event, but felt we didn't see the value on the very basic things expected from a venue such as this. I apologize in advance because I know what its like to get these types of reviews, but felt I should be honest, thanks for your time.
We had Rose as our server and she was absolutely the greatest!!!
We love this brunch!!!! Our favorite place. The food is outstanding
The server, Jenny, was very friendly and fun; as was the manager/sommelier. The wines recommended were fantastic. The food was presented well and delicious. Half of our group lived in the area and the others were from out of town. All were impressed and would come back during daylight hours to really see the beautiful view.
The special occasion was our 30th anniversary celebration. We enjoyed that this celebration went together with your restaurant-week menu. Compliments to your chef(s) very refined preparation of the halibut and tune! The duck salad was superb! The wine served with each round of the menu was excellent! Extremely friendly server and we are definitely coming back with friends and relatives in the nearby future!
We were in Traverse City at the end of Restaurant Week. During this city-wide event, restaurants offer, instead of (or alongside) their regular menus, a $35, three-course meal. One of these meals the night we were at the Aerie was a bone-in New York Strip. I've had them before, and they have been pretty great. This one, however, was about approximately 40% inedible gristle. Although it was cooked perfectly to order and was delicious, I was unable to enjoy all of it: most of it stayed on the plate. It could easily be argued that a first-rate bone-in NYS would be somewhat hard to come by at a $35 price point and, therefore, I should not have been shocked; however, the manager made a point of telling us that cut would have been a $57 item if entre-priced alone. I'm not so sure about that in this case, but okey dokey. Another somewhat odd aspect was that we went to the Aerie bar first and bought a couple bottles of wine. When our table was ready and the wine was brought over, our waiter was visibly rankled that we had done this and as a result --- we assumed --- he wouldn't be receiving the tip on what was about $150 of wine. For the rest of the meal his attention was perfunctory, at best. We left 25% on our $70 dinner tab, so hopefully that brought him at least a little joy (assuming the several other tables on which he waited cooperated as well). All of this said, every other aspect of Aerie was 100%; it was just exceptional! Except for these minor issues, everything was perfect and we would go back there without hesitation, hence my overall 5 stars. It's a beautiful place.
Went for restaurant week. Good meal and service. Everyone was friendly.
This restaurant exceeded all expectations for us. The food was incredible, perfectly cooked and even got to try a new side dish made from steel cut oats that might have been one of the best tasting things I've ever had. Our server was Jenny, she did a fantastic job. The view was incredible and was a very well nice set up place, constantly filling our waters and making sure our wine was filled as well. I would highly recommend.
It was restaurant week in Traverse City so the menu was set for the 3 courses and the waiter should have known it well. Our reservation was for 9:00 PM and it was our anniversary which we noted on this app. The waiter, Mike, seemed very condescending. We both ordered a flight of white wine which consisted of 3 wines paired with our 3 courses. He immediately brought back the first round and said he would come back to take out order after he took care of splitting a check. We waited a very long time for him to come back and were finished with our first glass of wine before he even took our order. My wife made clear to Mike that she is lactose intolerant and asked him about the menu and what he would recommend. He directed her a good appetizer and entree. They were only offering two desserts. One was a mousse trio and the other an apple tart. Obviously she could not have the mousse but asked if the apple tart was made with dairy. If it just had ice cream, could it be served on the side. Mine said they baker makes the dessert and they have no idea what was in it but he would check. When the dessert came out, it was pretty obvious the apple tart was encapsulated in ice cream. My wife took a small bit to check if it might possibly be almond milk ice cream. It was not. There was nothing on the dish she could eat. When Mike finally came back, we asked him if the dessert was made with ice cream. He stated very defensively that he told us he did not know what was in it because it was made by their baker. It was even made on a “different floor” of the high rise as if that made a difference. He then asked if he could bring out something different for my wife but she was already so disgusted that she said, no. When he came back with the check, he brought back some sorbet and said that he was sure did not have dairy. He should done this to begin with. He acted as if we were a inconvenience. At these prices, we expect much better service.
Excellent portions and food for Restaurant week-best we had and that is the Boat House and Amical.
Usually slow service between courses.
