Once again, Aerie didn’t disappoint. Delicious food, courteous staff and an unmatched ambiance and view.
I like this restaurant but this night, they ran out of Fillet steak and substituted a NY for the same price and it was okay, just fatty. Not my choice and I never order that. Their menu was interesting and had a combination of more exotic meat like duck and lamb. Not many I think would opt for that so the fillet ordered many times over than the others so they ran out, by 8:00. Bad planning I think. But other than that it was a great night and I do like the restaurant overall. Great view from everywhere!
Great food, recommendations and menu. Awesome drink list as well.
Great food and service
Having been to Jamaica for several years, the food was not typical of regular Jamaican food. Portion also very small.
We choose Aerie b/c of the Jamaican themed special menu. It was very authentic and reminded us of our last vacation to Jamaica. I ordered one of the specialty drinks, didn't like it. My server, Chad, was quick to replace it with a different one that was much better! Portion sizes were perfect. Each course was served perfectly cooked and flavored. We didn't feel rushed and had a wonderful 2 hours of uninterrupted conversation and delicious food. I look forward to returning next year on my annual trip.
The food and the atmosphere were absolutely great yes I would highly recommend it to other friends
Great view of the countryside. Slightly limited menu.
Overall the food was very good and the service was excellent. The Caprese salad was a bit of a disappointment though. The cheese just didn't seem to work for some reason. Still, I would go back and would recommend Aerie to others.
Wonderful brunch would recommend to anyone around the area
Overall, very good. Given a large birthday party, the waitstaff was stretched thin. That said, a very good experience. I would return.
The whole experience was lovely. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and we picked your restaurant for our celebration. It was wonderful
While the food was good, and the views were as spectacular as ever, I couldn't help but notice that the quantity of selections (and stations) were markedly reduced from our last visit. This will surely be a factor in deciding to visit the next time we are in the area.
First time at Sunday Brunch up in the Aerie and we were very happy with everything, from our server, Angelique to the food and view. The food was very good and the view is awesome despite the cloudy rainy conditions.
Enjoyed our brunch. Disappointed a few items were not on the buffet that has been on it previously (smoked salmon and bread putting). Overall we had a very nice lunch.
We had a reservation for 7:15, when we arrived it wasn’t busy but they all seemed rushed and bothered. Our server was short, spoke extremely fast, didn’t even make conversation to say hello. Never checked on us to refill our cocktails. The prawns looked beat up and small. The spread it was on looked like cream cheese but was way too much. Massive pile of it with 4 tiny prawns on top. Costco sells better quality. The presentation was thoughtless. The lamb was way over cooked and maybe only 4 Ounces at best. The filet tip app presented over potato purée, appearance like gravy and mash potatoes. Not appetizing in its appearance at all. The entire experience was surprising. We have had drinks there before and the manager was amazing. We didn’t complain, we make the best of anything. We enjoyed the company and paid our bill. I believe the manager, who served us in the cocktail lounge and then still saw us in dining made a point of comping our apps bc he could tell our server was stressed, we weren’t given much attention, and we had been there forever! By the time we finally got our bill and left it was 9:30 :(
WORSE dining experience EVER at the Aerie Restaurant and Lounge at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City Michigan. Had cocktails in lounge before dinner, no complaints there service was good and attentive. Beautiful view of bay & golf course from dining room. Made reservations 2 weeks in advance, requested window table. After passing several open window tables we were seated at very last table in dining room next to an open banquet area that had a party going on, very loud talking & laughter all evening, our waitress commented how loud it was. Our mistake for not asking for a different table. Waitress arrived at our table quickly, we each ordered $35 lamb dinners and she said would bring bread basket right out. Then it went from bad to much worse. Besides not able to carry on a decent conversation over the loud party.. our meals did not come and did not come. After waiting well over an hour and still no bread basket, no dinner or attention/explanation from waitress we decided it was about time to leave. Waited little longer then got up told another waiter to let our waitress know we left. Manager saw us leaving, apologized said dinner would be right out with no charge to us, please stay. We went back to our table and dinner was served. We were seated before 6:45 and got dinner after 8:30. Appreciate the kindness of manager, beautiful setting.. I would recommend the restaurant for that but could not recommend Aerie without telling our horrible experience. Food was ok. OpenTable was great.
Too expensive for less-than-outstanding dinner experience.
The day was beautiful so the view was amazing! The omelet station was fresh and delicious. We did not try the pasta station but it looked good, as were the pastries. The sirloin at the carving station was a little tough. I think if the chef was instructed to carve it thinner, it would have been more tender but the slices were a little thick and hard to chew. Also, a condiment like horse radish sauce would have been nice to go with it. The vegetables and the potatoes were good. The fruit bowl was not too appealing and the fruit didn't look or taste the best, more like left overs. However, the strawberries and blueberries separately were good. While the desserts were very tasty, the ones attending the tables need to check on the presentation and the spoons, especially with the peanut butter trifle (delicious!) as the spoon was so thickly caked with it, you couldn't really get much of it out of the bowl and made it look unappealing. We would go back and I would recommend. Hopefully you will take the above comments as constructive. Thank you!
Food was delicious and the views were breathtaking. But 2 hours and 45 minutes for three courses is really not right. Our server needed to pay closer attention to the timing for our table. Furthermore, while we appreciated his honesty in explaining that he had punched in the wrong entree, his solution of having the kitchen make the dish on-the-fly left the rest of us with cold entrees. And we were charged in full for said entree.
Arie restaurant was a wonderful experience.
From the friendliness of the staff and their professional efficiency to the quality and taste of the food was a very pleasant experience.
Very nice restaurant and view. Not near enough food choice for the price . But what good was there was very good
Family dinner with wife and daughter. The fresh fish specials are a must!
The staff was very friendly, and attentive to our dining experience. The food was excellent and the wine list extensive. I do wish that you could more of the wines as a glass rather than buying the entire bottle. Otherwise we had a great time and a great table with a nice view of the bay. We really enjoyed our time there
Great views, waiter was very good and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the Aerie and always try to eat at least one meal there when staying at the Grand Traverse Resort.
Another excellent dining experience at one of our very favorite destination restaurants. Michael, our server, showed his usual expertise and made us feel welcome and very well attended. We look forward to our next visit!
Definitely a top scale restaurant and everything was as expected. Great service and food. Thank you!
Excellent Salmon dish custom made by the chef to leave out gluten. It was awesome!
I brought my six-year-old daughter here for a date night with mom because she loves beautiful views. I was a little hesitant because I had dined here with my husband several years prior and had a poor experience. However, I was delighted by the entire date! The server, Patrick, was absolutely wonderful, and even played along...making my daughter feel like she was “big” as she dined in a fancy restaurant. The food was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and intentional. The views were, of course, spectacular. Priceless memory.
Everything was EXCELLENT!!!!
Food was excellent and the daytime views spectacular!
The food was excellent. The best salmon I’ve ever had. Thanks for making our anniversary so special, Paige!
I went for their Sunday brunch buffet. The atmosphere and the staff were top notch. My only complaint is about the value. For a top notch high rise hotel brunch buffet I felt they cheaped out a little. There was no sliced roast beef. They had "a little" sliced flank steak which was rarely stocked and when it was it was overcooked and not terribly appetizing. There was no waffles, pancakes, hash browns or scrambled eggs. They did have an excellent "station" where they'd make your eggs to order but that meant standing in line just to get scrambled eggs. There was no waffle iron at that station. The cost was 22 bucks and change which was reasonable but not a steal. It did include a drink such as coffee or a mimosa.
At the very least they ought to add a waffle station and mounds of flank steak rather than just bringing out a half dozen two bite slices at a time and then I'll give it a 5 for value.
Gorgeous views and fantastic menu. Everything was wonderful.
Food was great as it always is. Our server, Patrick, and all of the staff were fantastic.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
This is a great place. Unbelievable view of East Bay.
Great menu, great service.
Worth the $
Service was outstanding! So was the food and views.
Great view. Fantastic food and service.
Told the waitress that some of the entree's were cold and she said she would tell someone. We enjoy coming to the resort so was somewhat disappointed that food on serving line was cold.
