Adoteca is the last creation of Chef Antonio Mure’ and front of the House Paolo Cesaro. After Ado in Venice, and Casa Ado, in Marina del Rey the duo decided to bring their delicious food and excellence in hospitality to Brentwood. The combined passion and expertise of Paolo and Antonio have again created a romantic, warm and home-like welcoming environment accompanied by an outstanding service, ideal for a date or a business lunch. The food, once more, express all of Chef Antonio’s passion for cooking, a passion first nurtures over many hot Sicilian summers spent watching his mother and four aunts prepare immense weekend family meals with the freshet fish and ingredients available. His appreciation and understanding of the importance of cooking and eating well was further developed as he was growing up in Parma, the Slow-Food capital of Europe. What else to say, bring your appetite!!

The food and service were excellent, but the restaurant is extremely overpriced for a casual neighborhood eatery. Also there is no printed wine list, but owner makes suggestions about what you should order. Each glass of wine ended up costing $20.00. He also suggests daily specials which are not listed with a price anywhere, and will set you back $39.00. Definately not worth it.

The staff was rude and not very attentive. That night it was very warm and they did not want to put air on and we had to be asked to be moved. They were very dismissive after that and did not bring salad. Did not ask if we needed any thing during the meal. Might not go back. Food was great and could have been lovely.

It just keeps getting better. The food is outstanding with great flavor. There's a very interesting menu and always exciting specials. It's well suited to both the heartiest and pickiest eaters. The veal chop blew me away. The pastas were superb. Our waiter was interested, energetic and charming. We were there for a little family birthday celebration and had a perfect evening.

This was our first visit; it took a while to know what was there since we could not read the signage from a drive by. Given the number of good Italian restaurants in the area, we didn't make much of an error to figure it out. We definitely enjoyed the food and ambiance. The food is quite delicious and the tables are more spaciously arranged than most local places. Our only disappointment was the extremely slow service. We had two courses (no dessert or coffee) and it took 2.5 hours. We were with good friends and had a lot to chat about, but the length of time between courses was extreme. There were several large tables of businessmen (all men) and that might have thrown them off their game on a Tuesday night. All in all, we will go back and try again. The food is good - but there are lots of good Italian restaurants on San Vicente.

We took some friends to Adoteca who had been there shortly after it opened and weren't that keen on going back. After our meal Friday, that has completely changed. Chef Antonio made us a starter of Spaghetti agli Ricci di Mare that tasted like it was straight out of a Sicilian seaside trattoria and things only got better with a beautiful tuna tartar and exquisite veal chops. This place is a gem and deserves to be on the short list for not just special occasions but rather for times when real fans of Italian cooking want something truly authentic. Bravo!

An excellent meal. The food was delicate yet flavorful. I had the branzino carpaccio that was meltingly tender and my wife had the Prosciutto with buratta which was a great combination. We shared the daily special pasta, a ravioli stuffed with ricotta in butter sauce and black truffles (a very generous portion). As main courses I had the Tagliata di Manzo, a sliced NY steak with arugula and shaved Parmesan, and my wife had a veal chop with assorted vegetables. Even though she had it cooked medium (I like mine rare), it was very tender and succulent. The rest of the menu looked very imaginative (not your usual Italian restaurant dishes) and I look forward to going back. The wine list was extensive and fairly priced. Only Italian wines (no problem for me), and many options to choose from at several price points. We started with a glass each of Prosecco from Treviso which went very well with my branzino carpaccio and shared a 1999 Fontalloro with the rest of the meal. Service was outstanding. Very attentive yet unobtrusive, and not rushed. The Fontalloro was decanted, as it should have been, without asking. It is not a large place and on a Tuesday night it was not crowded at all, which I'm sure helped with the service. Highly recommended.

The foie gras is not inexpensive but it's a relatively generous portion and delicious preparation. I also enjoyed the special filet with blue prawns. We have never had a dish that we did not like. Their only shortcoming is a quite truncated wine list coupled with a high $35 corkage (waived if you order a bottle off of the list). With such a short list ( and you have to ask the waiter for the wines by the glass!) they should reduce the corkage to $20-25.

I have no problem paying for great food. Unfortunately, AdoTeca is has tasty cuisine overall but prices are not great. Wine list is extraordinarily limited and corkage is too high. Unremarkable and tasteless, but palatable butternut squash soup. Followed with poorly conceived beef carpaccio, very good grilled octopus and nice fois gras. Pastas were fine. Entrees were veal chop, filet mignon infused with Barolo, duck, and rack of lamp -- all very good but nothing was very creative or outstanding Meal improved as it progressed and wait staff was knowledgeable and made good recommendations.

Came here for Valentines Day dinner, after having been impressed on our one previous visit. This time wasn't nearly as good. Lack of focus seemed to be the problem. The food was tasty enough, but all items came out less than piping hot; they had a printed list for the red wines, but not the whites (?!), and for neither would they disclose the per-glass prices; and the service was pleasant, but not nearly attentive enough. Yes, I realize, it's almost unfair to judge a place by their performance on a hectic/crowded holiday night like this -- but (especially for these considerable prices) they should be held to a higher standard. We might end up going back at some point ... but I imagine it'll be a while.

The fresh black truffle starter did not disappoint--fresh black truffles amply shaved tableside on perfectly cooked and sauced tortellini. The quail ragù on beet pasta and the clam vongole on squid ink pasta were perfect. The wine list contained Italian wines exclusively and was a bit overpriced. However we settled on a lovely Amarone which complemented the dishes splendidly.

The service was outstanding! Paolo was kind enough to recommend wines that would pair well with our meal and did not disappoint. The grilled calamari and foie gras appetizers were out of this world. The entrees, homemade pasta dishes, absolutely transported us into food heaven. The panna cotta was the perfect ending to a delightful meal. As we left the restaurant my husband and I both remarked that we had just had the best Italian meal that we have ever had.

Was greeted warmly at the door by owner/ host Paolo. Dine LA menu very clean type and easy to understand. Good selections & wait staff very attentive and on top of job. Started with 1/2 bottle 2011 Querciabella Chianti Classico. Reasonable restaurant price. Primi - Branzino Carpaccio was sublime with tiny dash of sea urchin roe & fresh green scallons. Perfect. Secondi- Lamb chops in mushroom sauce. On the whole decent. Maybe a bit overly agressively salted but that not withstanding solid dish. Mashed potatoes & vegetables were well done and nice counterpoint to lamb. 3 double chops which were plenty. Dessert- Creme Carmel, was absolutely delicious and intensely creamy and not over sweet. Espresso well done. Over all very good meal and wonderful staff. Pros- Branzino Carpaccio, Staff, Wine list. Cons- Piped in music which seemed bit loud & at odds with total atmosphere. Certainly one of the best Italian in city.

We've been introducing friends to Adteca and have never been disappointed with their reactions. Chef Antonio Mure's food keeps getting better as he adds unusual Piemontese specialties as well as some incredibly creative dishes like seared as scallops with Burrata and sea urchin. Makes no sense to the ear but plays like a symphony. The new living room-bar area is delightful and we love how they have sacrificed a couple tables to make the whole place feel welcoming and give each group or couple enough space to feel at home.

Wine list is in transition as a new wine bar is coming in. You can ask the maitre d' for a discount or BYOB. Order a bottle and he'll waive the corkage. They have removed tables to make the place quieter and mor romantic.

AdoTeca is a quaint nook snuggled into the San Vicente strip in Brentwood. Upon entering you are whisked away to the home of an Italian foodie. The wood decor is soothing with candle lights to set the mood. We were greeted by the owner who made a point of thanking each guest as they left the restaurant. Our salads were fresh and vibrant though the bread was a bit hard. The wine we ordered was good but be careful since there aren't any in the <$50 range. The pasta was savory and complex with just the right size of portions to fill you up. The custard we had for dessert wasn't anything too special, however. Clearly, we really liked this restaurant for the authentic Italian feel. I can't remember the last time we used words like "transported" when walking away after dinner. There were some negatives though. First, the service was a mixed bag. While the owner was personal and we saw the chef come out a few times to talk to guests there was a long wait for us in between orders. When the waiter first stopped by we couldn't hear the specials because he was quiet/far away and then he ran off before taking our drink order! We weren't quite sure who was serving us or if we had to flag someone down to get our food order as well. Also, they charged $10 for the water which was surprising. Overall the experience was fabulous and we'd recommend the location for any Italian foodie or for a special occasion.

We took friends to Adoteca Friday night to celebrate a birthday and the evening couldn't have been better. From the warm greeting at the door to the hugs and best wishes at the end of the night everything the staff did made our friends feel like part of the family. (and looking around the recently remodeled dining room, one could probably say the same for everyone there that night). Chef Antonio Mure continues to turn out some of the most authentic Piemontese specialties including the best ravioli "plin" this side of Asti. My veal chop wastopped with burrata in an interesting twist on "Valdostana" and was so good I was truly disappointed to finish it. The John Dory and pistachio encrusted lamb chops were also big hits. Can't wait to go back

Food this good deserves a bigger audience than it had the night we visited. (Still...cook it and they will come) The beet tagliolini with quail? Pretty much off the chart. Ditto for risotto with boar ragu. On the lighter side, a lovely, clean branzino carpaccio. But you can only eat so much at one meal, so we look forward to going back and trying the things we missed on this first pass. Alla proxima AdoTeca! (Probably, next thursday. With friends. So we can go to town on this lovely menu.)

The first visit was stellar. The second visit, not so much. The wine three of our party ordered that was offered by the glass on the menu wasn't available. I asked to speak to the manager and the waiter said that he and another server were in charge. I was surprised that he didn't know that one of the six wines offered by the glass wasn't available. And he didn't offer a different wine of the same variety by the glass. Not very classy. I again had the papardelle with wild boar ragu which wasn't nearly as good as the first time. The noodles were undercooked and the ragu too salty. The squid ink pasta and soup were well received. The beef carpaccio was grainy and not very tasty. Won't be returning.

You'd think the last thing Brentwood's San Vicente needed was another Italian restaurant but Adoteca makes a welcome addition. The authentic Piemontese fare from chef Antonio Mure is always spot on, as it was Monday when we started with his special "plin" ravioli that are not on the menu but are a must. Fontina filled hand pinched pillows in a butter sauce with black truffles.
