My husband and I had a wonderful dinner this evening. The Sea Bass Almondine was delicious, so flaky and moist, loved the preparation. My husband had the Ciopinno, and loved it. Watch the sunset, enjoyed a glass of the Cote de Rhone. Such a blessed evening.

The Admiral Risty has been our "go to" restaurant for year .. we go there for all family birthday celebrations and every Christmas eve as well. The food has NEVER been anything less than perfect and the ambience is wonderful, especially at sunset and the wait staff is second to none.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day dinner with another couple,
Our reservations were for 7:00 pm and we were seated on time. The ambiance was romantic. They handed us a red carnation each and there were red balloons everywhere!
The food was delicious, I love Seabass and I always order it whenever it’s on the menu! Mine was amandine crusted with a lemon caper sauce! It was yum Yummy! My husband had the flank steak and it was perfectly cooked!
We love this place! The food, the atmosphere and service is outstanding!

-Cocktail server inexperienced. Didn't know what a domestic beer was.
-Dinner server didn't listen carefully enough. Several small mistakes... nothing big. Gave adequate service
-Clam chowder was bland and needed salt and pepper, steamed artichoke undercooked, sourdough bread used to be much better when you received the large portion you cut yourself. .. average now
-Oysters on half-shell were very good, salad was fresh
-Untouched, remodeled feel is still fun... cheesy in a very good way

This was our second time visiting Admiral Risty's and it was fabulous! Everything was delicious! I LOVE the flank steak with shrimp. My husband had Cajun style swordfish that was yummy. The atmosphere is romantic and the views are beautiful. Our server was very nice. Overall a great restaurant and we will be back!!

Risty is our favorite restaurant. This time the Caesar dressing was different and not as good. The sea bass was a gruper and also not as good. The string bean had no flavor. Not our normal meal at Risty.

A favorite Occasion spot. We try to time our reservations for sunset with views of the Pacific & the Channel Islands. Waiters have been there for ages & are gems (thanks for being game about the sparkler candle Kevin). Food is tasty & generous; hubby loves the Oysters Rockefeller.

I love the Risty, live 5 min away and get a better table when I don’t reserve with open table. Tonight was the worst table. Waitress was awesome. Other staff not so much. Timing of food service was off. This restaurant isn’t cheap, so good service from all should be a given. Staff should be friendly.

Not sure I would recommend Admiral Risty. The food was good and plentiful. The service was okay but nothing special. The location is very nice.

If you like an old fashioned, crame them in, decent seafood place that is noisy and bustling where there are ten celebrations going at all times, this is the place for you.

We love Admiral Risty! The first time I had flank steak salad, I thought, warm steak on a salad? Really? Now I'm a true believer. The flank steak is a unique dish created by Risty Wood that you won't find anywhere else! I highly recommend it!

We had the sea bass special with flank steak. It was very flavorful and cooked just right! Our server, Jimmy (32 year veteran) was helpful and practically read our minds. Great atmosphere and one of those old school steak & seafood gems!

Family has been going here for over 40 years. Never disappointed, food is very good, large portions, always fresh, known for their blue cheese dressing they make. It's a little expensive but the food is worth it. The servers are very attentive and go out of their way to offer excellent service. Would definitely recommend you give them a try it's worth the view.

The Risty has endured. Consistently high quality food, professional wait staff, owners who care you’ve chosen to spend your dollars with them and then there’s always the ocean view.
They say what’s old becomes new and it’s rare to be able to find places like the Risty, where you know the food will be comforting and satisfying and you will be welcomed by the entire staff.
The salads are beautiful and fresh, the seafood excellent and never frozen, and for meat lovers, the marinated tri tip, superb.
Do yourself a favor and visit, they still serve cheese for nibbling, in the bar!

Admiral Risty was one of our most special dining locations when we lived in South Bay and ultimately other parts of SoCal ... moved away 24 years ago but it hasn't changed. Still excellent food and service and one of the greatest views around!

This place is so overpriced it is ridiculous. When you combine that with a nasty waitress that snaps back at you when asking for a fork or extra salad dressing, it just makes you want to get out of their as soon as possible. The tables are so closely spaced I was bumping into the guy on the table behind me. Also, the waiters had to reach across the table to serve since they could get to my section of the table. I practically had to yell at the waitress since it was so loud. Not relaxing or enjoyable. Not worth $40 for a steak. Complete waste of money.

Admiral Risty's is always a good place for a special dinner. We've been there for birthdays, our wedding anniversary and New Year's Eve. You can always count on excellent service and fine food. It's locally owned, not some nameless chain. It's been there more than a half-century. There's reason for that.

Admiral Risty is our favorite restaurant in the area (PV + Redondo). It is an institution and has a local charm. The service and food is always excellent. It can be a place for a nice dinner/date but they also accommodate families well. It is not a contemporary or stuffy atmosphere but that is why we love it. Window tables have a great ocean view. Sea Bass Almondine is the best we’ve had.

We enjoyed our new year's eve dinner at the Admiral Risty. However I didn't think the Cioppino that I had was up to par but it was a popular evening and the place was packed. Also the seating in the passage between the main and south dining rooms can be distracting with all the staff hustling back and forth. My wife's scallops were excellent and the potato and vegetable sides were great. They have nice bread but I prefer their rolls which weren't available this night. Our server was cheerful and stopped in at just the right frequency.

I think next year we'll have our New Years celebration a day early though.
