The service was excellent. All the wait staff were friendly and professional. We went for dinner before the theater and they made sure that we were served promptly without rushing us. We sat at a booth that felt very private and quiet. The food was very good but I was expecting more choices of traditional Portuguese dishes. All in all a great place for dinner.

We went here for our anniversary...great hospitality...greeted at the door, took our coats. Lovely little alcove to ourselves. Great food, good wine, quiet but attentive waiter. Decent prices. Would definitely go back.

We enjoyed Adega. It was our first visit. We both had the fish special. Service was attentive and helpful with the wine list, which was mostly Portuguese.

Authentic Portuguese seafood dishes, cooked to perfection. Having traveled extensively on the mainland, in our opinion,
Adega's food, matched what we ate in Portugal. Our server, Christian from Lisbon himself, was efficient and friendly and recommended a wonderful Vino Verde for us. Our signature dishes, the seafood stew came with a wonderful tomato based broth, two kinds of fish salmon and a white fish, clams, squid and mussels, very tasty with the lovely local bread. Our other dish was grilled octopus, capers, bed of greens, potato and salsa was also cooked to perfection. Finished off with a wonderful port from the Douro region....will be back again next time we are in that area of Toronto.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. When we first walked in, it was not at all busy, so I was afraid we had made a mistake by going there. We were promptly greeted by Mario and shown to our table. Mario was attentive and explained menu and answered any questions. I chose the daily special which was Arctic Char. It was excellent! Nicely grilled and served with scalloped potatoes, and fresh veg which were served piping hot and cooked to perfection. The fish stew was also excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Only down side for us was my husband asked the waiter for 2 checks, but he gave us one with the costs split. It was a really big deal, but our friends had wine and we didn't. It really wasn't a big deal, but More attention needs to be given to these kinds of request in future!

This is my favourite restaurant in Toronto. Adega's always has the best fish dishes (flown in a few times a week from Portugal, think). All the food is prepared and presented perfectly.
The staff are friendly, professional and attentive. A great place.

Appetizer: Petisco Platter, $35: 5/5, so delicious and really interesting mix of authentic food.

My Main: Cataplana Fresh Fish Stew, $32: also 5/5, delicious broth, and a lot of good seafood.

Her Main: Saffron Seafood Risotto, $28: 0/5... honestly some of the worst risotto either of us have ever had. No flavour, at all. It seemed like the chef just forgot to add any spices, including salt or pepper... We should have sent it back (20/20 hindsight).

Dessert: Dark Lindt Chocolate Mousse Cake, $8.95: 5/5, so rich with flavour, and amazing texture. I wish we got 2.

Wine: 5/5, great wine list, we really enjoyed our bottle.

Service: 5/5, great staff, very attentive and fantastic personality.

Everything was so fantastic, except the risotto, which was extremely disappointing and kind of soured the whole experience since my entree was just so much better than my girlfriends. I don't think we would go back, since we ordered the things on the menu that we really wanted.

Our server was fantastic. We were seated in an alcove table which was a bit too datey for our friends get-together but it was fine. My pasta was just a bit too spicy for my liking but as for authenticity and freshness - it was spot-on. The vegetarian soup was just amazing as was the bread and olives offering.
Delicious wine and lovely atmosphere.
I recommend to anyone and everyone. Just check on the spiciness of the pasta as I was quite surprised by the heat but again the tastes were fabulous!

From the moment I walked in, until I left, the service was spectacular! I felt well taken care of. Every movement was coordinated by the staff and I was never wanting for anything. Of note, the muse Bouche and the Mediterranean olives and fresh bread were an amazing opener. But on a warm day, the sorbet offering was very flavourful!

I had the green salad appetizer and gruper main dish, and both exceeded expectations.

In short, a class act!

It always amazes me how attentive and great the staff is. It was raining a lot and I had my parents with me, I called in advance to ask if they wouldn't mind running outside with an umbrella to pick them up from the car and I received an response "it will be our pleasure".
I always love the food and their fantastic service.
I am looking forward to my next visit.

I found this place on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try since we are planning our first visit to Portugal in 2018. The staff was mostly Portuguese (or perhaps Brazilian) and seemed to converse amongst themselves in Portuguese. It is on a quiet little street with several restaurants and is just east of Yonge Street. I started with the Bisque and then had the Octopus dinner. I enjoyed both, and the octopus had a similarity in texture to a lobster tail, but maybe a bit tougher. My other half had the daily soup special and the fish special dinner, which was Espada. He enjoyed everything as well. They also presented us with a complimentary tasting of something on a spoon-it was good, but I forget what it was? I had a large Steamwhistle draught beer, and he had a 9 oz glass of Portuguese white wine, which was a bit overpriced at $15.25, in my opinion. Our server and his young assistant were very attentive and made sure we had a great meal. When I told the waiter that we were going to Lisbon, he told me about a friend of his who has a tour/transfer service there and gave me a brochure. I may look into that as time gets nearer for a trip there. In conclusion, this place is definitely a 5. I may or may not return there on a future visit to Toronto since Toronto has so many good restaurants, but if you like Portuguese food and attentive service, this is a place to experience!

We had a family lunch there and we had a toddler with us too. The food was awesome, as usual and the service was excellent. The serving staff was very friendly, patiently answered all our questions and were courteous. They went out of their way to make it a comfortable and enjoyable meal, in between a few howls from my granddaughter.

Thank you. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

Great restaurant!! Would go again definitely.

I was there first time for my gf's birthday occasion. I was surprisingly pleased for my overall experience. Also I was having a dinner on Monday, not necessarily a busy day, so keep that in mind when reading below.

Reservation and Greeting - staff followed to the letter my ask for a table on romantic occasion. Once there, staff is very polite and you feel like you are welcomed in Europe.

Food & drinks - great choice of food and wine list. If you appreciate European wines, you will find a great selection here. I personally love Italian wines, and they have Lambrusco (sparkling wine) which is difficult to find in Toronto in my opinion. Grilled squid is exquisite.

Service - everything was as I expected from a mid/high-end range of restaurants. The only reason i have put 4 starts instead of 5, is a little negligence from staff about pouring the wine in our empty glasses (which is very important for me) and catching our waiter for the bill.

Ambiance - amazing, they select the clientele properly. Ideal place for a business dinner or romantic date. Quiet and elegant. Dim lights and appeasing music.

Value - i feel its a little bit overpriced. If you take a 3 course meal + bottle of wine, then expect around 100 dollars per person.

Our party of 4 had the summerlicious dinner menu.

The lobster bisque was a little watery, but the sardines were excellent.
All entrees were good. The squid has lots of flavour as did the dorado dish, however the fish was a little on the small side.
The trio of tarts were all very good, and the creme caramel was excellent

Wines are expensive

Service was good with olives and a bread basket (which was topped up without asking)
