Excellent food and knowledgeable professional service, would definitely go back.
Fabulous meal as always.
Busy restaurant for a Monday evening. Menu is primarily seafood. Main entrees were generously proportioned. According to a couple of my dining companions there is a dining room in the basement wine cellar where you can have a private dinner.
Very good food, service and ambiance. The best grilled octopus I've had in Toronto!
Always a lovely meal
Great service and very friendly staff. The food was amazing.
We had steak and the daily fish special. I loved my fish.
Took my wife out for a birthday dinner. We both enjoyed the good food and wonderful service.
Food and service was excellent
The decor a little outdated like I was stuck in the 90s
Definitely would recommend this restaurant especially if you like fish it’s what the Portuguese are known for
Can’t wait to go back
Service was good, food was tasty. Only complaint is my pasta had sliced scallops so the restaurant could save money. I paid $24 for a small bowl of pasta that should have full size scallops and more bacon.
Great place for dating. Food is amazing.
The food itself was well cooked. My squid was amazing and all the desserts were great. The restaurant is louder than I prefer but you could still hear your group so it was okay. The decor was warm and inviting. We had to move tables unfortunately as they had some lights that wouldn’t stop flickering above us. There were bones in the fish we got and they did not do anything to make up for that so I wasn’t impressed there. It was nice however that all the staff were Portuguese and knew the wine list very well. Service was friendly but lacked steady pacing throughout the meal. All it all it was nice enough but not top of my list to return to.
We had the winterlicious menu. Everything was delicious! Even our kids (18months and 4 years old) loved it, and cleaned their plates.
This is a great place with a charming ambiance, fantastic service and a very distinct menu. The bisque and capon were absolutely delicious. I will recommend it and will definitely come again myself.
We tried this restaurant during Winterlicious. The food was very tasty but the portions skimpy. Overall the experience was pricey for what we received.
We were very impressed with the food and service. We certainly will go back and taste other items on the menu.
This was my first time at Adega, but will definitely be back. The service was great, the food delicious and the restaurant was not overly loud, so you could still enjoy a conversation.
There were quiet booths and we sat in one of them. The waitering staff were very attentive and friendly. Lobster and crab bisque were rich in flavor. Our pasta and mushroom risotto tasted pretty authentic. Mixed sorbet and creme caramel were very delicious as well.
My friend & I always enjoying dining at Adega. We enjoy the excellent service & food. Waiters are informative and friendly.
This is a wonderful experience I had. The food was great that did not let me down. I would like to suggest my friends to come.
Excellent in every way. The food was delicious and just the right portions. The server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance was delightful and we were able to visit with our friends with out being rushed. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I will come again.
Good food for a Winterlicious menu.
No compromise for quality.
We had an exceptional experience. We were fortunate to have been given a very private little dining nook, that only improved on the experience. The seafood dinner was delightful, and the servers were highly professional, appropriately attentive without being intrusive, and had excellent knowledge of the menu options. This was a top notch experience, worthy of the price paid.
Great evening! Loved the Grilled Squid appetizer and the Linguine with Tiger Shrimp! Creme Brulee was also fabulous. My husband loved his Sea Bream special but thought his chef's soup lacked some flavour; he wished he had had the Grilled Squid when he tasted mine. This was our 3rd-4thtime dining at Adega and we will definitely be back again. Our server, who was Portuguese, was outstanding! Very attentive to every detail! A very enjoyable evening! Highly recommend!
Cataplana was good, but not served very hot
Portion was more adequate for 1 versus sharing
Tasty but not as good as what we had while vacationing in Portugal
Overall the taster platter was very tasty and great selection
Great restaurant. Wonderful Portuguese wine list and knowledgeable wait staff.
Whenever in Toronto, Adega is a place we love to go. Sardines appetizer and Octopus special main course is my way to go. The seafood soup special is also always out of this world. Warm, charming staff and a great ambiance.
Grilled squid and octopus was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Service was fantastic as well.
Disappointed with the fish soup
Adega is the only restaurant in Toronto I would describe as "consistently amazing." I have been eating at Adega for years and it is my go-to special occasion dinner spot. I have treated friends and family (from around the globe) to dinner there and everyone comments on the hospitality, great food and great vibe.
They have honed the menu and still offer many (many!) specials. I appreciate a well edited wine list which offers reasonable prices for wines by the glass to bottles.
The Portuguese hospitality, seafood and wines are not to be missed whether you are visiting Toronto or are a native.
This restaurant is hidden gem. Great food very attentive service. If you like grilled calamari this is the place. Waiter was very knowledgeable about wine and cuisine. Manger/owner stopped by every table to ensure everyone was happy. We will be back
Amazing find while looking for a restaurant that wasn’t full of only red meat. The seafood was tasty and well presented. Service by Fernando was impeccable. Great wine too. Worth checking out.
Warm, cozy and friendly with great Portuguese food!
Adega never lets me down. We had one seafood lover, one meat lover and one vegetarian and we all left very satisfied!
Wonderful food and exquisite service in a warmly romantic décor. A gem on Elm Street
Adega continues to impress me after many many years of exceptional culinary experiences there. I highly recommend this restaurant for an exceptional dining experience!
Excellent dinner and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
A first rate dining experience. Nestled in a cozy spot downtown. Food was superb. Service excellent. Great for romantic evenings.
I had their Cataplana at Adega and it tasted even better than the ones I had in Portugal and the rosotto was creamy and flavuorful. Generous portions and friendly staff too.
Service was impeccable, very attentive and cheerful. We love the familiarity even though it was our first time. Love the warm interior and well spaced between tables. We were at Sorel recently and despite the rave, we did not like the noise level there and the cramped tables. We absolutely loved the food at Adega and was very pleasantly surprised it was better than Chiado. The shrimp bisque was very delicious per hubby. I had the grilled sardines and it was perfection. Mom had the salted cod quenelles and it was perfect. We shared everything. For main, hubby had the specials Lamb chops ($42) and I had the absolutely delicious Saffron Seafood Risotto. Mom couldn't handle an entre herself and ate ours. She ate more than we expected for a 92 year old and she kept on digging into my risotto and raved about the Lamb 2 dozen times. She told my siblings about that world's best Lamb chop. Mom is a world traveler and has eaten in the best (River cruise, QE2, etc..). Wine was delish as well. Thanks to mom helping herself to our entres, we had room for dessert and coffee (yum). Hubby had the creme brulee and raved about it. I had the Medeira poached pears and loved it. It was cold and very refreshing. Mom also loved it all. I banned dairy and the restaurant was very accommodating towards my dishes. Please come to this lovely little gem. Sad I didn't bring my camera.
