Adega Modern Mediterranean

Fabulous food, personable service (thanks, William 🙂) and a great cocktail, bourbon and Scotch menu, too. Don't miss the Serrano ham app; it's the best I've had outside of Spain. The Italian Bolognese was also wonderful, featuring outstanding sweet Italian sausage and a surprisingly light sauce. I had the duck confit special, served off the bone, slightly shredded over toasted brioche. This came with Brussel sprouts on the side which I normally detest. However, our server assured me that the purple ones they served with an orange gastrique would change my mind, and he was 100% right! Downtown is a hassle but this place is worth it. Can't wait to go back.
Our server was great. Super friendly and gave us the space / right amount of time to order. The food quality was amazing and Adega still ranks as my wife and my favorite restaurants in Cleveland. Thanks again.
My wife and I dined here before a show at Playhouse Square, and the entire experience was excellent, especially the service. The hostess was charming, and our waiter was extremely accommodating, especially concerning my wife's many food allergies. And the food was delightful. I had the scallops, which were amazing, and my wife had the Branzino...which I wish I had ordered. It was incredible. We'll be going back for sure. Quality restaurants that cater to folks with food issues are few and far between.
Brunch was fair. It wasn’t crowded and service was slow. The chicken sausage was dry and eggs runny. I recommend brunch somewhere else
The food was amazing and service was outstanding. My wife and I enjoyed some really great seafood dishes and we both look forward to returning very soon!!!
My wife and I went to Adega for dinner before an Indians game. The food came out in about 7 minutes and was clearly preprepared. My wife ordered a flatbread and I ordered chicken. I asked for no mushrooms, got them anyway and no one offered to fix it. The flatbread was also just OK. We were done and out in about 30 minutes (which was not our goal - we had plenty of time). Overall it was just rushed, average food and a little overpriced. I won't go back. Too many better restaurants nearby.
Great service and a comfortable booth with a view. Great start to the day!
Good food that seemed more italian than what we think of Meditaranean. Nice ambiance and fun waiter.
Exceptional service !!! Innovative menu...everything that each of us ordered was outstanding.
We had not dined here for over a year....we will definitely be back again.
Amazing service. Way beyon call of duty, attended to all special needs (vegan, allowed vegan birthday cake brought from outside bakery).
Great food but poor service spoiled the dinner. My wife ordered an appetizer and main course. Her main course came shortly after she received the appetizer. I ordered a salad and main course. I never received my salad.
Always a winner. Creative plates, diverse and affordable wine selection, and outstanding service. Keeps you coming back.
My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Adega to celebrate our anniversary. The staff went out of their way to make our dinner special. We split the Greek salad to start and had Local Farm Chicken and the Shrimp & Mussels for dinner. The food was very very good...flavorful, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Sean was an awesome bartender that was always willing to offer wine pairing and cocktail recommendations. We chose his recommendations for cocktails and were not disappointed! If you're in the area and looking for incredible drinks stop by to see Sean at the bar.
Went for my birthday prior to a show at Playhouse Square. Was a Sunday around 5:30pm and it was very quiet. Beautifully decorated, server was very knowledgeable but it took him a while to get to us initially. All of our food was outstanding, my husband had chicken and I had a seafood entree, both had Greek salads and shared beef skewers which were delicious. Also loved the iced tea prepared table side, great flavor choices! We will definitely be back.
Best seafood in Cleveland. Tried the grilled octopus, scallops, shrimp, mussels, sea bass. All phenomenal and had just as fantastic sides to complement the star(s) of each dish.
Mo was excellent waiter. Food was most delicious
We had the most delicious meal and outstanding service. Damien was our server and provided great recommendations and service!
Honnest suggestions on sizes or number of dishes to take
Everyone enjoyed their meals and the ambiance; however, the Greek Salad and Parmesan Polenta were extremely salty. I should have sent it back, but I didn’t want to make a fuss. Just a heads up to the chefs to be more conscious on the amount of salt being utilized. Overall, great service!
Had a large business lunch group of 9 - reservation was for 7 but we got seated, no problem. Good service. One of the orders seemed to take extra time so we all sat there politely waiting...and waiting...Hey Adega - let's get all the orders out at one time, okay?
Sea bass and bronzini were so perfectly cooked and accompanied by yummy garlicky tomatoes. Well worth the price in a beautiful patio looking at E 9th st.
Great atmosphere, excellent food, friendly staff, perfect for business lunch or dinner date.
Mussels were fishy smelling...and the pasta w/bolognese sauce wasnot very meaty and appeared to have cream in it. One person in our group got very ill from something that evening.
I'm not sure if it was what we ordered - hummus, salads, pasta - but I was disappointed with the food at Adega. My wife and I were excited about the hummus, Adega being a Mediteranean restaurant, but the actual hummus came in really absurdly small amounts, in tiny circles. It seemed like we were at one of those fancy restaurants that don't seem to actually feed you. My impression was only strengthened when my salad came, which was also tiny, and not really a meal. One suggestion would be to have salads that are actual meals. At any rate, our server was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu, and the ambiance was fine. Thanks for reading!
Excellent service and great food. Good for a date night dinner.
This was a tasty spot to grab brunch! We enjoyed the dishes with a touch of Mediterranean in the sauces and sides. Both the Croque Madame and Benedict dishes we had were excellent, and service was good.
A great bartender and great food. The bronzinni was outstanding as well as the brussels sprouts which were nicely chared
Not worth the visit. All of the meat we ordered was extremely salty. Nice recommendation on wine and beautiful looking wine cellar. For the price point not worth the quality of the food.
Shawn , our service was excellent. His customer service and dining etiquette toward us was on point. He made multiple genuine visits to our table and was knowledgeable about the menu and drinks.
We had brunch before a play. As always, it was fantastic! The drinks, service and view made our day so fun! Can’t wait to go back.
Classy restaurant with delicious menu selection.
It’s all about the food. We have had grilled octopus in Greece, Portugal and Italy but the octopus here is the best we have ever had. My salmon had a delicious lemony flavor. Service was superb. My only complaint is the acoustics in the restaurant us terrible making dinner conversation difficult.
We were very pleased with our dinner selection of Adega. We were only in Cleveland for the night and wanted something in walking distance of our hotel. It was perfect and exceeded our expectations. The noise level was the only thing that distracted from our excellant dining experience.
My parents had a fabulous time as they celebrated Mother's Day!
Mother’s Day brunch. Great experience, as always.
Food was amazing, drinks were great. Small portions, slow service. Beautiful restaurant, be sure to visit rooftop bar and the vault in the basement!
Ate at a high top in the bar. Bartender was great. Food was very good. Very nice experience.
I took my wife to Adega this past Weekend for her Birthday and found the visit very disappointing. When we arrived we were seated immediately and there we sat for the next 10 minutes waiting for our waiter to greet us. After being fed up with waiting, I walked over to the hostess stand to make it known that it was my wife’s birthday and I wanted this to be a special evening for her and we hadn’t been greeted. The hostess told me that she would send someone over right away, which she did but we didn’t even receive an apology for the wait from the waiter. In fact, he had no idea that we had waited so long and was under the assumption that we had just been seated. From that moment on the evening went much better and the food was fantastic but the dinner was anything but special. They didn’t even mention anything about my wife’s birthday when I indicated that in my reservation and when I approached the hostess stand. If you’re thinking about Adega for a special occasion, keep looking because there are far better places. However, if you’re just looking to have a nice dinner, then I would recommend it, although it is rather pricey especially considering you have to pay to valet your car to even go there.
The quality of the food is exceptional and everything we ordered was amazing!! I wanted more!! Highly recommend Adega! Only regret is that we didn’t go up to the Azure rooftop lounge.
The pasta dishes we had were very very good. The chef knows how to cook pasta truly al dente, unlike some others in this town who think al dente means "chewy". The sauce Bolognese was an interesting twist on the traditional.
