Addie's Thai House Ratings and Reviews
The food is very authentic but be warned , when they say the food is spicy they ain't kidding.
If you like hot then go for medium.
The tom ka gai ( Chicken Coconut soup) is excellent .The atmosphere is really nice although on weekends it can get very busy and you may have to wait a while to get a table.
This is my most favorite Thai restaurant in st Louis area so glad it is so close to home.
We love Addie's Thai House! It is our go-to for a good dinner on every trip! Since the restaurant is small you do need to make a reservation, particularly if you want to have dinner there on a Friday night or Saturday night.
The team at Addie's is great and they are very good about answering questions. They are also good at accommodating special requests to the menu items.
Portion sizes are terrific and we always have enough for at least one meal of leftovers. This makes Addie's a REALLY great value. Please note that Addie's does have coupons in the Entertainment book and are also featured now and then with Groupon deals, so that provides an even greater value.
Definitely give Addie's a try! I would highly recommend it for couples or groups up to six or so.
We often eat at Addie's . The Tom Ka Gai with some rice added to it can be a meal in itself. We usually over eat, so we now limit ourselves to the soup, and split an entree. I don't care for spicy foods, so we order the food with a 0 heat index out of 5 and my husband will add the spice as needed. For a Thai restaurat, I think it has the best ambiance of any around this area.
The Tom Ka Gai soup is our favorite. Creamy, tasty soup with coconut milk and chicken. we always say that we will just order a large tureen of the soup with a side of rice and be satisfied, but we usually end up ordering spring rolls and 1-2 entrees. Good basic Thai food. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, but the decor inside is very pleasing; nicer than most Thai restaurants. We always enjoy our visit to Addie's. My brother has traveled a lot in various Asian countries and whenever he comes to town, this is one of his go to restaurants. He likes the Khao Soi from northern Thailand, a yellow curry soup with chicken, that he cannot find in most Thai restaurants.
This was not our first time at Addie's Thai House and it proved to be just as good as in the past as far as the food quality. It fell down somewhat as far as service. It was on a Friday night and very busy so I guess this accounted for the service. The Thai dumplings were excellent and were enough for 2 for an appetizer. Seafood basil was a large portion necessitating a take home box.
First time but not the last that's for sure. We took the advice of the waitress in what tonirder and she was spot on. It was incredible. Ordered appetizers and the fried banana dessert as well...all very good. Even the Thai beer was a good choice.
Not terribly expensive unless you dive headfirst in to the fruity Thai cocktails real hard...they're not cheap ever lol.
The only downside is the restaurant itself. It's located in an older West County strip mall that probably needs to be demolished. The layout of the tables is pretty crammed. There's not much privacy in the main dining room and the decor is dated.
But the food is great.
This was our third visit. Food has always been excellent. Nice servings, always take leftovers. Mixed drinks are a little small for the price. But, this time, the service was so slow! We had a reservation and were seated right away. We don't mind waiting a bit to be served at all. Our main course was a little slow coming out, not a big deal. But...when we were done eating, we waited a very long time for the waitress to come to box our food and bring our bill. There were many people waiting for a seat, so we really just wanted to get done so others could sit. (We had been there an hour and a half.) We would have been fine had the waitress just stopped by to let us know she would be with us soon. But, she never even made eye contact. We just sat and sat. We were full. Our drinks were empty. We didn't want to go go counter to pay because we had several plates of food we wanted to take to go. So we waited while others waited for a seat, and we felt ignored. Yes, they were very busy. Yes, we are reasonable people. We just wanted to be acknowledged, that's all. Anyway, we will go back. It's still great food and a very nice place to eat. Next time, we'll just make sure we order a second drink for the wait :-)
Food as always was excellent. Service was a little spotty since our entrees were served before we completed our appetizer, a pet peeve of mine. Portion sizes are large making the value good since there are sufficient leftovers for a second meal. Overall, a wonderful neighborhood meal and we will return.
