It was a nice restaurant but I felt like I had to scream because the music was too loud. Also the lighting is horrible, very dark, hard to read the menu.

I am a big fan of Ada Street, but New Year’s Eve was a disappointment.

Although there were many vacant tables and the kitchen was to be open for two and a half more hours, our party was rushed by the front of house staff.

We wanted to take our time and enjoy our bottle of champagne at the bar, but we were frequently interrupted to see if we had questions about the menu or if we wanted to order another dish. Despite the fact that we were sitting at the bar, our champagne glasses were never filled by staff after the first pour.

Had the service been more relaxed, we would have ordered both more dishes and drinks. Instead, we came up with a plan b for the midnight toast and left Ada Street feeling unsatisfied.

I’m not sure when we’ll visit again. It is a shame, because the food (especially the magical gnocchi), cocktails, and setting are great.

Very cozy, trendy spot. Great for a date, not too late. Food is shared plates and is excellent. Great value for your money.

If you can find Ada Street you're in for a treat with their tapas style plates. Don't pass on the brussels sprouts - they're fantastic! We sat at the bar and enjoyed great service, excellent food and tasty cocktails.

Golly, it's been almost a year since we were last at Ada Street. The great news is that it hasn't changed! Still fabulous goodies and cocktails! From the steak tartare to the chicken liver mousse to the scallops, to the brussels sprouts, to the gnocchi, everything is perfect! We love all the handcrafted cocktails with the suggestive names. The chocolate ganache is a fabulous ending with our cups of coffee. Our server, Laura, was perfectly unobtrusive, but appeared whenever we even began to think we might need her. We promise we won't wait a year to return.

I took my date here and we sat at the bar. It was such an upbeat and energetic place with the lighting dimmed enough that you can get lost in conversation without hearing the people around you. Oh and she absolutely loved it as well (earned some bonus points!).

We didn't eat (but I had to leave a started review on the food as well), but will definitely sample the food next time and adjust the rating accordingly.

I have loved Ada Street for so long and have NEVER been disappointed. Everyone is so friendly and pleasant, the food and drinks are amazing, and the music is always on point. It's a cool and inviting atmosphere. Our server, Laura was top notch with her recommendations, attentiveness AND her patience with my hard drinking friends. They were also able to accommodate us when I wanted to add two extra people to our party half way through our meal. It was the second time I celebrated my birthday there and I enjoyed every minute. This place is one of the best!

At first we were shown a small table. We couldn’t read the menu because it was so dark in that area so we moved to the bar. A little more light there. The food was good. The wine list was limited and the only Chardonnay on the menu by the bottle was not available so we drank the house Chardonnay by the glass. The steak tartare was outstanding. Our server was friendly and very helpful.
The place is definitely different. We will absolutely go back for the steak tartare.

I found Ada Street looking for a place for my husband's birthday. Yes, the food was wonderful and the ambience is really cool (a bit dark, but definitely sets the mood!) but honestly the thing that will 100% encourage me to return is the service. Autumn took such amazing care of us, honoring my husband's birthday and giving us the best recommendations. She really made the night over the top special and I really appreciate her, and the whole Ada Street crew!

One of my favorite spots in the city hands down! The food is always fantastic, and the ambiance is warm, dark and cozy. They always have some fun, and well done, cocktails for customers to ponder. The arancini balls were soo good that I ate them in the car on the way out

The restaurant was okay. I'm not into super-hip restaurants, which this one was. Went there for the Beef Tartare, which was not the best I've had, and which was inconsistent— we ordered two plates and one was far saltier than the other. My friend did say the Old Fashioned was one of the best she'd had.

Unfortunately, even if the meal had been great my whole experience would have been overshadowed. When I left the restaurant I found my car had been broken into, searched and my laptop stolen. I'm a little appalled that such an expensive restaurant didn't have security of any kind. Apparently break-ins are a problem for customers too, because there's a hand-painted sign that says "Don't leave valuables in vehicle". (I didn't see it on arrival because there's two parking areas and the sign is only on the first one and was blocked by cars when I arrived!)

I told the restaurant and they're response was "We're sorry."

If you're looking for a super-hip place then frankly I think you can find one with better food. If you do insist on going then at least take a Lyft so you're not at risk.

This is the kind of Chicago restaurant that is cool by comparison to local peers but wouldn’t last a hot second in NYC.

Everything was oversalted, one dish to the point of being inedible. Format was odd - you can order a steak, but you can’t specify how you want it cooked and then it arrives with no sides but drenched in balsamic glaze (and oversalted).

Cool vibe inside, but the food is total crap.

Clever, inventive and varied cuisine mostly in the form of small plates for sharing. Some good creative vegetarian selections in addition to the meat fare. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the wine list and helped us make very satisfactory selections. The service was attentive and well paced and did not feel rushed.

It looks they have a nice outdoor patio for warm nights, but we were there in late October so it was too cold for the patio.

A couple minor negatives: the bench seats are a little uncomfortable and need padding. I could use less music background, but then again, I feel that way about most restaurants these days. The facade needs better signage; it looks like you are about to walk into a private residence... Or a speakeasy. But these are minor points. It was a very pleasant dinner and recommend it.

Just a solid meal with some interesting presentations. Unique location in an industrial setting and the interior exudes hipster/cool. Highlights were the shishito peppers (that seem to now dot every menu in Chicago) which were blistered perfectly and the miso butter they bathed in was phenomenal. The steak with balsamic was great too. I enjoyed the gnocchi dish that included dates, honey, carrot and ricotta and tasted like fall.
