Thomas Keller's Ad Hoc + Addendum was originally intended to be a temporary restaurant, but due to its loyal following, it was decided that it must be a permanent fixture in Yountville. Ad Hoc serves a prix fixe, 4-course family-style menu, which changes daily, and embodies the comfort food reminiscent of the recipes Chef Keller's childhood. Addendum is the restaurant's seasonal outpost offering buttermilk fried chicken or BBQ picnic lunches to be enjoyed in the garden or taken to-go.

The pre-fix food selection on a Sunday evening was quite delicious but one needs to fast the entire day before coming here. There is a tremendous amount of food! The service was excellent.

First visit and we all were impressed. Very unique dining experience. Waiter was great, my glass of water was never empty and food was all hot except the amazing make it yourself ice cream sunday, it was ice cold and very tasty! Will come back for sure!

The Sunday Brunch buttermilk chicken and waffles were outstanding as well as the smoked salmon starter. Somewhat disappointed in the service as it was not what we have experienced the many times we have patronized TK restaurants and Ad Hoc specifically. The wait staff did not seem attentive or busy enough as they were having quite a bit of personal conversations taking place. Our wine was attended to intermittently and we had to ask for our wine to be served a couple of times despite the lack of busyness by the staff. We also asked to take home the leftover salad and when we did not receive it, we asked the server. Her initial response was that we had not asked for it and when we told her that we had, she continued to insist that we did not, although she offered to have some additional prepared for us to go. Later, when we received our check, but not the "to go", she again insisted that we had not asked for it, but would bring some out for us (which she did finally do). We think that merely fulfilling the customer's request, rather than basically "blaming" the customer for their oversight would have been a much better approach.

Ad Hoc never fails to impress: fantastic food, casual atmosphere, informed, helpful and attentive wait staff, simply great. Simple ingredients, prepared artfully, generous portions, amazing flavors. It can be a bit on the loud side, and it’s never anything but packed, but Ad Hoc is one of our favorite restaurants. We’ve been several times, and we’ll be back many more!

Wine selection was great. Service was excellent. Food quality was good - but the lunch menu was underwhelming. We had burgers. Just not what I expected from TK. I would go back to try other menus.

We dine out fairly frequently and love to visit new and unique restaurants. Ad Hoc seemed a little gimmicky and the noise level was out of control. It could be that it was Valentine's Day and a different day might have been a different experience for us. It was nice to have the complementary glass of champagne and the food and service was ok, but did not quite rise to the level of some other dining experiences we've had in the recent past, hence our "just ok" review.
