Very good, exciting flavors, small dishes yet filling
Always great. Always creative. Best fried chicken ever!
Honestly, not worth the hype. Overrun with tourists/buses. The so called Best Fried Chicken was mediocre...and cold by the time the runner found the recipient after roaming the grounds from the main kitchen.
Outstanding! From walking in the door down to the last bite, everything was extraordinary. Well Done!
The food and service here have always been great. Reserve at least a week early though. Big tip: if you run out of an entree, as for more because they serve family style.
Interesting and enjoyable concept-there is one meal on the menu on any night-no need to make choices. One could be concerned about not liking something that is served: I have never had anything that I less than loved, and I tried things that I never would have considered trying. The food quality is outstanding, service is great, wine list incredible.
Made brunch reservations for my partner's birthday and we were absolutely blown away. Who else could pull off chicken fried steak and have it be so memorable that we would be raving about the meal for weeks? The service was absolutely top notch, providing insights into everything from the food preparation to local places to explore while we were in town. It will be a privilege to return.
Love the food, but the wait staff is sometimes hurried
Love this place. You get Thomas Keller family style! The only thing is you have to check the daily menu because you may not be into what they're having.
Great menu, friendly staff. Make accommodations for allergies, vegan etc. even though the menu is fixed everyday.
Go early and eat at the bar, great food! Addendum is also great for a picnic lunch.
We always return to Ad Hoc. The food is always great. We like going here with 2-4 friends as it's family style and fun to share. Just make sure everyone knows the menu beforehand.
Amazing food and prices are good for the quality and experience.
We came in for Sunday brunch on a weekend where they were serving chicken and waffles. The pre fixe family style brunch was delicious from start to end. It might not be a good choice if you have picky eaters, but for anyone looking for a solid start to a day of wine tasting in Napa, you can't go wrong!
This our first time at Ad Hoc our party had a great time. Unfortunately we didn’t get to the try the famous fried chicken but the dinner did not disappoint. From the cocktails to the main courses to the desserts we enjoyed our experience from end to end. We look forward to our return!
What a value for only $54!! The quality of the food is exceptional: we have had 4 meals at Ad Hoc and every one has been very good!!
everything cooked perfectly and tasted excellent!!
Everything on the Sunday brunch menu was great- between my wife and I, we covered the regular menu items and the add on items as well. The fried chicken was amazing! Poached eggs on brioche toast, lobster mac, and the pork belly hash all were excellent as well. Must go back next time we're in town!
Pork short rib was inedible due to massive amount of fat...very disappointing
When I complained, no one ever got back to me until, as I was leaving the restaurant, I commented about it to a server and he told me the chef said they had gotten a fatty shipment for dinner that evening.
Vacationing here in Napa
We greatly enjoyed our overall dining experience at Ad Hoc.
Truly the best meal I've had in a very long time. I will dream about it!
One of the best food we had while in Napa! Service was spot on, wine pairing was wonderful!
Best dining experience in Yountville. Service was exceptional. Food, delicious!
And I thought I made the best fried chicken! it was superb - as was the Mac n cheese! my daughter said it was the best comfort meal of her life! with drinks... $120/person. oh well, you can't compare ad hoc to KFC!
The staff was amazing and the food....outstanding!!
The food was exactly what we expected....amazing! If you are visiting Napa, don't miss out on Ad Hoc.
The absolute number one
Del mismo chef del famoso restaurante the french laundry , en lo personal me gusto más este :) ! Muy recomendado
Cousins 60th Birthday
We sat at the bar two nights in a row and had a wonderful experience. Jonathan at the bar took great care of us and was knowledgeable about everything!
Ad Hoc was truly wonderful, the ambiance was great, service was great as well. We were seated very quickly and once seated our waiter was very attentive . Food was great! Will go back and recommend.
Easily one of the best restaurants in the Napa area, superb food, great service, a must!
Service was wonderful, and they made us feel very special on our honeymoon.
Me encantó, la comida muy rica, la mesa amplia. Es sin lugar a dudas un lugar especial.
We made a reservation for dinner at 8:15 on a Saturday, arrived on time, but apparently it was not a day to have on-time seating. we waited almost 1 hour! I complained nicely 40 minutes in and got comp'ed with some drinks. It was disappointing to have to wait so long. Once we were seated, the service was prompt, and the food was abundant and tasty. So, hopefully the late seating was a rare event, and you will enjoy the food. The music and people were quite noisy, so it is not a romantic place to eat.
The food was exceptional except for the meat. Even though we sent it back for a better cut, the New York loin second cut was still chewy. No criticism to the chef, as the sauce and taste were amazing, but the meat he received was just ok. As always the wait staff were also exceptional. A little unhappy with the reception desk. Showed up 5 minutes early for our reservation and had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. However, the table we were sat at was perfect, by the window, and with the same waiter we loved from last year.
Amazing, don’t visit Yountville without stopping by this place.
I was excited to eat at Ad Hoc again after a great first experience some years ago. I made a Saturday lunch reservation, and only later realized it was a special limited menu of " burgers & half bottles". I wasn't super excited about having just a burger, but I figured it is Thomas Keller, if he is going to put just a burger on a menu, it is going to be a damn good burger. I was wrong. Unfortunately, it wasn't just the burger that was a major disappointment it was the service as well. We were greeted and told a simple cheddar cheese burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and aioli would be served with a starter salad of greens with a lite champagne dressing and a pile of fries. We ordered half bottle of wine and almost immediately we were brought a platter of greens. Very boring, not enough acid, tasted like wet lettuce. About 3 bites into the salad the burgers were delivered to our table. The small 2-top only fit 3 plates, so of course there was no room for the burgers and salad plates. We awkwardly tried to maneuver the space ourselves, by putting the our salads back onto the large plate in the center of the table, with no help from the servers, to accommodate the ill-timed main course. So there we were, wet lettuce, pile of fries and a couple of big burgers. The bun was so big, I had to deconstruct the burger to eat it. The burger was ok, nothing special and not worth $25. The only thing that lived up to our expectation was the wine, it was delicious. Between the pacing and quality of food, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. I recommend you hit up Gotts at near the Oxbow Market for a better burger and a better value.
