About
I had high expectations knowing the reviews and accolades of the chef at Acre. However, it was sadly disappointing. Beautiful building but the food was just sub par. Fresh and creative should not equate to peculiar and expensive. I will choose to visit other establishments in my future trips to Auburn.
Best steak I’ve had recently - celebrated a birthday which was noted in reservation and mentioned to server and met with a mere meek Happy Birthday
I had the ribeye which was very flavorful and cooked (rare) to perfection. Karen had the gulf shrimp and etouffe which was excellent.
Our server, Walker, was outstanding.
Great selection of entrees
Nice place. Unique menu. Staff is always great.
Butter up cake is the best!
Acre never fails to deliver. Amazing food and atmosphere.
I've eaten at Acre often and always enjoyed it but this trip was especially lovely--our server and the other staff members were exceptional as was the food. A welcome respite on a stormy Saturday afternoon!!
Wonderful creative menu. Big servings and beautiful facility. A must when in Auburn!!!
From the time you spot the restaurant, you know it's going to be good. The outside of the building is beautiful and the landscaping is nothing but vegetables and fruit! How amazing it is to see what you know you're about to eat. You can't get any better than seeing your food in the landscape of the establishment. The glass enclosed room is beautiful with gorgeous flooring. The inside of the entire restaurant is eye catching. To take everything in is almost exhausting - it's just beautiful! The staff is always courteous. Tables are ready and when you have a reservation, the restaurant does a great job at calling to remind you of the same. The food is impeccable. Lunch and brunch menu items vary from dinner which makes it one of those places you could easily dine at on the same day and not feel as if you're eating the same cuisine. I love how the favorites remain while other dishes change throughout the season based on availability of local vegetables, fruits and herbs. It's definitely a must-go and one of those places you should visit often as the menu changes.
One of the best restaurants anywhere much less in Auburn!
Thank you so much! We were celebrating 21 years of marriage, and the food and service were absolutely phenomenal!!! I have a gluten allergy, and everyone made sure to go the extra mile to make sure I had delicious food!
Always love Acre!! Favorite place in Auburn! Should have a made a special request for a table though because we were seated very close to the kitchen where my 90 yr old father in law had wait staff passing closely behind his chair all evening. Otherwise it was a great evening with great food and service!
The whole experience was incredible! Our waitress Alex made the whole experience even better. She made excellent recommendations and made us feel right at home. The pickles, bread, salmon, and peanut butter pie did not disappoint! My mom and I will definitely be back!
Acre has always been a favorite restaurant. Sometimes just date night and always great for a special occasion. Our last visit was for my girlfriends (wife of 40 years) birthday. Recommend Acre to everyone!
Food was very good. Service was horrible. I almost did not leave a tip! (But did) we were forgotten or looked over the d Ed notes evening.
Great food and service. Great atmosphere
We came in tonight to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. We had the most amazing time all thanks to the incredible food and above and beyond service from Walker! I definitely recommend coming here for a special occasion or just a random date night. It was well worth the drive from Montgomery!
The service and atmosphere were great. The food was OK, not a good value based on price point and serving size and overall quality (taste) of the food was fairly average.
Wonderful place to relax and dine. Flavorful menu and service spot on.
We reserved our table through Open Table. There was no indication that New Years Eve would be a fixed menu. Seems Acre called and left a message to that effect but with no details. We did not get the voicemail (glitch) so it was a surprise when we arrived. Food was excellent but even so the price .... $75 per person ... for a single biscuit appetizer....... soup or salad ( either/or --no choices ) ..... tenderloin, or snapper and choice of two desserts with a complimentary glass of champagne was al bit pricy ....... a cup of coffee with dessert added $3 per person Had I know the menu selections and prices before arriving I would have changed my reservation. Great quality, very good service but even so ..... price point was a bit high for what was given
My husband and I visited Acre Dec. 31 for an anniversary lunch. The food was as expected—fabulous and fresh. We had a salad with grilled salmon, tomato bisque, and grilled cheese; then, we topped it off with bread pudding and Madagascar vanilla bean ice cream. Yum!
Food excellent as always. Service was great. One of our favorite restaurants in Auburn.
Excellent food and service.
Fabulous food & drinks!
I had learned of Acre through my Southern Living magazine. On a trip home for the holidays, we decided to stop for their Sunday Brunch. The food was amazing and the stop was well worth. We cannot wait to visit again. Best Farm-to-Table ever!!!!!
Awesome restaurant! We’ll be back soon !
The food was absolutely incredible and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine selections.
Great experience. Food was terrific and prepared just right. The server was helpful in helping pair food and drink. She was knowledgeable about the menu and helped others make selections. I felt the menu was varied and all were appealing. Drink selections were spot on, lots to choose from, booze to wine to beer. Highly recommend!
The salted butter ice cream was delicious. That was our first time trying it. All of the food and service is always great. The ice cream was the stand out
We had a Saturday lunch with family and had a great time and great service.
Awesome Anniversary dinner
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional! Three of us had fried catfish and we agreed that is was cooked to perfection! Enjoyed the festive atmosphere!
Girls night out at the acre! The food was delicious, we all had fish, were all happy with the presentation of the plate (and the plate itself! Locally crafted) and enjoyed every bite of it. And of course desert! Sharing a piece of Chocolate cake and Peanut butter cake each was a good idea 'cause although they tasted really really good, they filled the remaining space in our bellies.
The waiter was attentive and (successfully) recommended the restaurants special dishes/drinks.
I'll for sure go back!
Always my favorite place to eat for a special occasion or just because!! The food is INCREDIBLE every time!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Brunch at Acre. The food was delicious and our server was fantastic. We look forward to going back in the future.
This was a my 65th birthday lunch! Our meals were wonderful. The portions were in the right amount. I was given a dessert choice from off the menu. I chose the peanut butter pie! It was off the charts delicious!
We had fried green tomatoes and chicken fried bacon as appetizers.
Best restaurant in Auburn.
Very nice atmosphere for a special occasion. The food was delicious.
We drove from Atlanta to attend a performance at the Gogue Performing Arts Center. We always allow extra time for the Atlanta traffic— but it was not enough time on this day. Worse than usual traffic! When it was clear that we would be almost 30 minutes late for our reservation at Acre, I called Acre to see if we could still be seated. They were very kind and accommodating and said, “Of course!” It probably helped that we were a party if 2 and it was for a rather early dinner. But DO make a reservation, and DO call if you find you will be late.
As it should be, the real feature at Acre is the food, most of it locally (maybe regionally?) sourced. It is delicious, of the highest quality, and creatively prepared. Some of the most delicious goat cheese available outside of France comes from up the road at Stone Hollow Creamery. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.
The only reason I did not rate It a Five Star “Value” is because it is a little expensive for Auburn. But so what. Go spend the money for a wonderful meal!
