In Italian, Acquolina means “mouthwatering” – illustrating what happens when you see a delicious, inviting dish. This phenomenon can only happen when food is made with passion and love. For us, food “is a social matter. ” In turn, Acquolina weds a passion for food with a real respect for the community in which it stands – welcoming a mix of locals and visitors, singles and families, welcoming guests of all ages and lifestyles.

At Acquolina, we endeavor to create a vibrant and lively atmosphere where our patrons can revel in the experience of an authentic and “regional” Italian meal. The Tuscan-infused menu is meant to pair with an assortment of wines, with samplings from Italy and California. In the spirit of the Tuscan Trattoria, everything is meant to be authentic – the pasta boiler and the pizza oven came direct from Italy, brought here to guarantee a perfect plate of “al dente” pasta and a perfect slice of thin crust pizza.

    Love this place! They made my birthday dinner so special but, the best thing I enjoyed is that someone left there wallet and I got a phone call later asking if it was me. That level of customer service is A-1! Will definitely be back.

    The waiter is from Italy and very friendly when engaged, I had lasagne, which was fabulous!!! My friend had the caprese salad and loved it. Our plates were clean!! Service was just right😄

    What a TOTAL letdown. The pizza was the only saving grace. The other items were horrible! They are pulling a fast-one with the "cocktail" menu. There are no actual spirits in the cocktails. According to another review (I read them after my experience) there is very, very small print saying that the cocktails are really just wine and other things.. Shady. Do yourself a HUGE favor and skip this place and book Original Joe's across the street. Trust me.

    Receptionist was not very friendly and was lazy when asked questions. Server was not very good. Asked for bread to go with pasta. Pasta served, no bread until halfway through meal. Note: we were the first customers to arrive.

    Seemed more upscale place on line. Had a reservation, but had no table for 4. Told that was going to be a problem. Took a high top table for 8, but not comfortable.Celebrating a birthday which we noted on line, but wasn’t even mentioned. Why asks, if you aren’t going to even mention??? For the money, I didn’t expect to be rushed. Also, I didn’t like the cc service fee. As everyone uses cards, it’s ridiculous. Food was fine, but not at all for a special occasion.

    It was our first time at Acquolina. We ordered a caprese salad (good - fresh ingredients), risotto with crab (mediocre - expected more flavor), and pasta with the ground wild boar (okay - flavor was good but expected more). The service/waitress was awesome but based on previous reviews we had expected more.

    This was our third time here and now our last. Service was nonexistent. Be sure to check your bill as we were first overcharged for an entree, waited a very long time to get this corrected; then noticed an extra ten dollars added on for a bottle of wine, and again for the entree. It seems a sort of scam practice in a tourist area? We didn’t appreciate it. Food this time mediocre at best. So many great places in the city to enjoy so bye bye Aqualino.

    we went for restaurant week. had seafood pasta and it was horrible. pasta is way undercook, shrimp was way overcooked. had 10 mussel shells but no mussels. was not happy with 20% gratuity and try to charge us $10 for credit card processing fee without asking us. will not be going back

    expensive and not good. risotto was undercooked, and came with very few shrimp. gnocchi was mushy and was tiny. caesar dressing tasted strange and was oddly watery. just those three things were nearly a hundred dollars.

    Excellent Italian food! Awesome neighborhood gem, definitely recommend the eggplant parmigiana and the black truffle pasta prepared tableside. Amazing dishes. Great lively ambiance to boot.

    They overbooked the inside dining area on Valentine’s Day so people who made reservations still had to at least 30 mins to be seated. Happened to multiple people while we were waiting. This was poor form. Hostess wasn’t apologetic. Poor management for this. The food was excellent when finally seated.

    It was my 47th birthday & I celebrated with my roommates. It was a blast and thank you for the pasta in the cheese wheel! I also enjoyed the red wine, Pistus. I’ll definitely return.

    Enjoyed the food (lamb was a little salty but otherwise delicious). Portions are generous, drinks okay. The Passion Fruit Mojito I had tasted a little bland and watered down. Service was good even though it was a busy New Year's Eve. My only complaint is that they didn't have the table I reserved and we would have had to wait 30 min for one to open up. One of the vagaries of NYE dining I suppose. I'd be happy to come back on a regular night and try some of the other food items. My favourite thing was the minestrone soup.

    Really good food and service but the doors were open and t was only 50 degrees so it was uncomfortably cold in the restaurant. The server said they had to keep the doors open and there was no heat in the room.
