Acquolina - Weston Ratings and Reviews
We have lived in Weston for 25 years now and seen many good restaurants leave which has been a huge disappointment to us. Driving to Fort Lauderdale or Miami is certainly an alternative but you would think Weston would have a great restaurant. Well, it does. We have heard from friends about Aquolina and have been skeptical. However, we were not disappointed. A great meal with knowledgeable service in a wonderful ambiance was our experience. The grilled octopus was as good as any I have had with just a hint of smoky flavor and tender. The Lobster ravioli was simply marvelous and paired with a super Tuscan wine I have not seen before at a very reasonable price. The service was friendly, discreet and knowledgeable. We are already planning when we will be back and living 10 minutes away, we will have to contain the number of our future visits!
My 3 friends have been here many times. It was my first while visiting. A meal from the bread so crunchy with oil, Parmesan to the chopped salad and the shrimp with breadcrumbs was one of the best meals in my foodie lifestyle. We all had wonderful dishes. Rudy, our waiter from Peru was so professional, excellent service and I’ll be back in November, December and January with my friends until I move down permanently. Great eve.
Got the chicken Scarpariello which was a mistake. It's nothing like the dish I know. No seasoning except garlic. Flavorless. The red pepper was grilled but the skin was left on- why? Chicken breast portion was dry as in overcooked. They must have better dishes based on other reviews. The menu cover was very "greasy" which freaks me out at any restaurant. Please wipe down your menus! With that said I will probably try one more time to like this place due to the reviews.
The food and service was good. However, the tables were all packed together and it was
extremely loud in there. I went there on a date for what was supposed to be a romantic evening and instead we could not even hear each other talk since there were parties at the tables on each side of us only spaced inches apart. This may be a decent atmosphere for a family gathering or larger party, not so much for a dinner date.
8:15 reservation, showed up on time and taken to our table immediately. Knowledgeable attentive waiter with good recs. Great wine list. Super Tuscan was excellent. Shared the veal parm and the homemade pasta dish with scallops, prosciutto and peas in a light cream sauce. Both were high quality and delicious. Total bill was around $110 with tip. Already plan to return when family comes to visit next month. Highly recommend.
First the waiter was excellent! Very personable and efficient. Described the specials with such enthusiasm. The food was excellent!! We had appetizers, entrees and dessert. I would highly recommend it to those who love quality food. We are definitely coming back!!
Modern take on Italian cuisine. Bring an appetite, the portions are large and they also offer some dishes as family style servings. Has become one of our favorites for special occasions. Worth the drive. Fresh ingredients, tasty - well seasoned. Vegetables perfect - bright green (when appropriate) and perfectly cooked. The specials menu always has something for every taste as does the regular menu. Great value. I love the Sicilian street food section especially the stuffed poblano pepper served w fresh and zesty marinara sauce. They alo do fish very well. Always a struggle among old favorites and trying something new on the menu.
I made a reservation to celebrate my daughter's birthday (party of 3). I was very specific as to what was the purpose of my visit. I would assume the manager or someone will noticed and have brought to the table some sort of detail (I was not expecting a bunch of waiters singing happy bday around the table). A little detail on her dessert would help to close the night in a better note. This is something we have experienced in other restaurants around the city and in Miami as well.
Flavor of the food was good. Our dishes were pasta and fish. However, food took forever to come to the table . Our pasta dishes were over flooded with tomato sauce and the salmon was over cooked. I was expecting a better and fresh dessert, we ordered Cannoli but were frozen. We have mentioned to the waiter that it was our first time at the restaurant thus we were expecting him to know his menu and make some recommendations/suggestions for us. But he was short and evasive with his communication.
Nice ambient but more work in the kitchen and with the staff is needed. Last, early I have received a call from the host/restaurant (I will assume to confirm my reservation), and not message was left in my voicemail. I call few min. later to confirm my own reservation.
P.S. Weston City resident for 20 years.
They sat us at the front table near the door...with my reservation with Living Social!!!! Loudest table in the place. Ordered chicken parm and that's all I got...no side of ANYTHING...so I paid $8.95 for their side of pasta....too big for one. They should charge a little extra for a meal and
add a side of pasta or veggie.
The food was GREAT... We ordered the calamari tossed in a spicy sauce appetizer , it was delicious and four people could have eaten from that serving! We had the ribeye and the lasagna for our entree, again outstanding flavor! It was kind of busy, whenever we need our waitress she was with another table. However, she did show up and attend to our needs promptly! Overall great place loud but great!
