Acorn Ratings and Reviews
New trendy industrial looking hot spot! The food is chef prepared and done with quality and care. The meals are creative and super delicious. The staff is attentive to the tables. I love that they offer both regular water and sparkling water at no extra cost. I've been here several times for lunch because it's close to my work and it's great for entertaining for business. I have not enjoyed any of the libations but their wine, beer and drink menu look extensive and delicious!
We three agreed that the food was excellent, and very good value for the price. The ambiance, especially our charming and attentive waitress, was so pleasant that we continued our conversation for more than two hours. We will definitely be back for lunch in the near future.
What a fantastic dining experience! The menu is superb and the execution is spot on. Everything we had was super flavorful. I am typically morally against ordering chicken at a fine-dining restaurant...but their roasted chicken was one of the most amazing meals I've had! The service was impeccable and staff was very knowledgeable of the menu items as well as wine pairings/recommendations. Thanks for a great night out!
Service was terrible this night. I have been there multiple times with clients and never has it been this bad. We were able to get in fine with the reservations and sit outside. The waitress brought 1st round of drink quickly. However, then we had to ask for more drinks the rest of the night. The food pairings took forever between plates. We were there for 2.5 hours and they even left off three plates. We told them we would take one of them and not the remaining ones. Very disappointed this time.
Such an awesome meal and experience. We went with another couple who go to Denver on a regular basis. They hadn't heard of Acorn, but we all tried it out. It was one of those meals that we talked about the following day. I think we DIDN'T try two or three things on the menu and everything was great. Food was reasonably priced....no shock, it was the 2 bottles of champagne that we ordered that drove our price up. I'd go back for sure.
Acorn is a great place for a special occasion dinner and escpecially drinks. I loved the cocktail menu and the food menu was diverse. The plates are meant to be shared so I gave us a wide variety of options. We will definitely return and would recommend the restaurant highly!
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner on Sunday night at Acorn. The food was imaginative, beautiful and delicious. Cocktails were also interesting and tasty albeit somewhat pricey. The service was very good, with the waitstaff pointing out each ingredient in the dishes as they arrived (However, I noticed that the table next to us was getting their dishes plunked down in front of them with no description whatsoever). The latter part of the meal went a bit slowly but as we were there to enjoy each other's company it didn't bother us. We've dined at the sister restaurant, Oak, before and very much enjoyed it and are glad to say that Acorn was great as well!
Hands-down the best dining experience I've ever had. The nine dishes (including small plates, a large plate, and dessert) that we ordered were outstanding, and we particularly loved the chicken liver pate, the steak tartare, and the pork tenderloin medallions. The wine and the cocktails were top-notch, as well.
We were so pleased with the service, particularly given the various dietary needs that my friends and I had.
We could not have been more pleased, and can't wait to go back!
We went at 830 on a weeknight thinking the crowd would have died down. We were seated about 15 minutes late . We ordered 5 things between the two of us which were not "coursed out" as told. The first two came out at the same time all the while we still had not received our cocktails yet. About 40 mins after our drink order was placed we were delivered our cocktails as if the wait was completely normal. The food was good but our 5 courses took over 2 hours, and there were times when 25 mins would go by without any food on the table or service acknowledgement. The spot has a cool vibe and idea, just for the price and service there are better spots in Denver.
We had a great experience dining at acorn. The wait staff was attentive and helpful in guiding us through our small plate courses. Everything we had was fantastic... We just wished we could have tried everything on the menu.
Many thanks from my wife and I for the thoughtful gift of a glass of champagne for our anniversary. It was an unexpected cherry on top of a great dinner.
We'll definitely be coming back!
The yellowtail, avocado toast (!), pork belly, gnocchi and rhubarb dessert were all delicious and very different from one another. Best food, I've had in a while. We had a variety of wait staff, which I liked as all knew the food and drinks. The service was fabulous--no one hovered nor did I ever have to look around for someone. Definitely going back.
Service was great and the food was even better. The cocktail list was interesting, and the food menu is definitely geared towards eating family style. There were only 2 "entrees" and a bunch of smaller "share" dishes. The Wagyu steak tartar should not be skipped out on! We had 3 people and ordered 4 shares and 1 entrees; it was definitely more than enough. Overall, it was definitely one of the best meals I've had in Denver.
We arrived at 5:30, when the doors first opened. It was quiet as tables slowly began to fill around us. Our waitress was ready to go and served us immediately. We had plans for the evening so she made sure we received everything quickly and got out on time. The food and drinks were both incredible as always. Will definitely go back again.
Loved the ambience - very industrial/hipster. Hubby and I love our food (especially upscale tapas), and I expected the food to be truly flavorful/creative - but was left expecting more. The Cod was extremely pungent (would've appreciated a heads up) - the rabbit spaghetti was okay, the chicken liver was nice (the bread was the best part). I think we would have let the less than perfect food slide if the service was impeccable, but it wasn't! The food was very slow - usually with the tapas kind of restaurants, you get your next dish a few minutes after you're done with the previous one. In our case, we waited 15 - 15 - 20 minutes respectively! It was so frustrating that we didn't even look at dessert - we just knew it would only take away from the experience.
Great cocktails, fun space, good place for sharing dishes. We have had a few really great meals here in the past, though we had a disappointing dinner last week. After an hour of waiting, we asked about our entree and were told it was being plated. Fifteen minutes later, still no entree. When it finally arrived (a steak with a whopping $75 price point), it was so salty, it was inedible and we had to send it back. Acorn very graciously took it off the bill. I'd give them another shot in the hope that we caught them on an off night, but I'd no longer recommend them full stop.
This was our first meal in Denver after driving in from Austin, TX and it did not disappoint! The small plates were delicious, especially the pate and tartare. The chinon paired perfectly with all our choices and service was fantastic. Our server even gave us some great reccomendations for our stay in Denver. Awesome experience !
Acorn lived up to the hype. My buddy and I had tried to get into Acorn before and couldn't get a reservation, booked early this time. Really nice wine list, had a great Oregon pinot, kale salad was awesome, the yellowtail crudo was delicious, pork belly was very asian, the rabbit spaghetti was ok but I'm not a big fan of saffron, the shrimp and grits were OMG delicious, outstanding. All said great meal.
The food was fabulous. The waitstaff was a bit "squirly" pun intended. Our waitress was super fast and didn't really have much to say. We had a later reservation, and felt like she was just rushing us out. The bar staff was somewhat friendly, as was another waiter who helped
