Acme hosts a variety of private events in both the restaurant and the downstairs venue. We have selected ACME’s signature dishes and created several Prix Fixe options which are served family style.
View Private Dining DetailsGreat food and the service on par. Will definitely go back again.
We went to dinner to celebrate a friend’s graduation from business school. The host did not acknowledge our reservation or the fact that our party was there and two guests showed up and were not shown to the table. One guest sat at the bar for 40 minutes without being told that the rest of the guests were all at the table. We approached the manager and explained the situation. He was apathetic and even accused of us suggesting that the host’s behavior was intentional. We were not offered any sort of apology or compensation. And we went to go downstairs after dinner and at first the bouncer was going to allow us and then changed his mind and wouldn’t let us down after we spent hundreds on dinner. This place is disgusting and judgmental
After spending USD380 in our dinner for 3 people, we were not allowed to have a drink downstairs. The doormen ñ argued that the bar is separated from the restaurant, what it does not make any sense at all. Be aware of this!
We got the Quinoa Risotto and the Salmon. Salmon was great but small and the Quinoa Risotto was extremely small. Prices were ok but not for what you get. The ambiance was the best thing, service was ok. It looked like a good place to go for a drink.
Wonderful food. Terrible service.
Sesame Avocado Toast (Very Good) - Steak & Eggs (Good)
Place was very quiet on a very rainy Saturday at Brunch - Good Service - Food was good - Brunch menu is a bit limited
I always have an amazing experience every time I dine at Acme. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The sommelier, Nicole, is extremely knowledgeable and really helped guide our entire dinner experience with great recommendations to go with our food. Our server Latina was very attentive and friendly . I definitely would recommend coming to Acme for the great service and fantastic overall food and wine experience. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Went for a girls get together for 8 people - we had a perfect round table. Atmosphere very New York sexy. Tables not too close together so felt private and also perfect level of noise for talking - unusual for New York! Star dishes included Caesar salad, ricotta, fried tomatoes, chicken under a brick, steak and broccolini. They also make a great espresso martini. Service couldn't have been better - I'll be back!
The roasted carrots & chicken main dish were REALLY GOOD, nice atmosphere & not too loud which was nice.
Great atmosphere and wonderful food. Had the Beef Tartar and Fettucine with Short Ribs. Beef Tartar had a very distinct flavor which wasn't too dominant. Very subtle and left enough room for the beef flavor. The fettuccine were perfectly al-dente, the short rib sauce to die for. Will come back soon!
food was underwhelming, was expecting much more. Great ambience. good cocktails.
Our waiter barely came to the table. We had to go to the bar for drinks and our table was the least desirable. I would come back but would sit at the bar.
Has become our local standard for friends, pre-Public, etc. Reliable food, ambience, staff. Delighted to return regularly.
Food was no good especially duck... not hot , colorwise etc... 2years before more better, wine menu has changed, food was more excititing.
Service was great. Byron, the manager was by several times to make sure everything was suitable. I eat there often.
Nathan, thank you! Tremendous night! Food and downstairs afterwards amazing!
I expected more. I spent my bday last year and I loved it... That's why I wanted to come back. But the experience was very disappointing! The host was not nice, the waiters treated us poorly and on top of everything we weren't allowed to go downstairs! So sad...
Our main course was delayed by over an hour and neither the service staff nor the management seemed concerned or gave a damn. Had to send the scallops back when they eventually came because they were too salty to eat. When the bill was presented we were told off-handishly that they took off two appetizers to make up for the problems, in an attempt to placate us. Sad actually, because the appetizers were quite delicious.
Nice restaurant, but don`t deserve special mention.
Great dining experience
Great atmosphere and people watching - We made a 10:30pm reservation so we could head downstairs after drinks and apps. The reservation, however, does not guarantee you will be allowed downstairs... So not great on the customer experience end.
Made us wait an hour for our table. Wait staff and hosts were extremely rude to us for asking to not sit right at the front door in a packed restaurant. The food was good but won't be back
Arrogant and indelicate hostess.
Nice and knowledgeable sommelier.
The food and service were excellent. We have been to ACME several times with consistent excellent results. This time, took the dam for Easter brunch. The new brunch menu was very good. The. He'd and his team never fail to impress
Lovely little spot for brunch. Small but tasty menu and nice cocktail list. Service was warm and discreet.
Had a fantastic duck over chickpea puree. Paired wonderfully with the Italian red. Ambiance is fantastic. Good, muted lighting, perfect acoustics, carefully prepared food, and, if you make a reservation for two, you may get a prime booth seat.
We were offered a nice corner table but later realized how cramped their seating is. If anyone set next to,me, we would be bumping elbows with other diners. Tables are ridiculously cramped. Service is warm and friendly. Drinks are very strong and for serious drinkers. Mojito was not well done, watery and not balanced. Portions are very small and we are not big eaters. Asparagus was delicious. Artichokes were good. Broccolini were just ok. Mushroom risotto was good but also very small. We skipped dessert as we felt the host kept looking at all the tables, checking who is finishing dinner. We felt rushed for that reason. We also didn't like the cramped seating.
The service was great, the wine was perfect...unfortunately the food was a bit off.
mixed reviews, carrots covered in sauce, fish inedible, chicken and duck good.
would not return
Sophisticated in that old school downtown NY way
This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time!
Good in a big group but a bit quiet
Very nice place -- quiet enough to really talk, and very close to Public Theater. We went for lunch before matinee. Food was excellent and done the way we asked but very expensive for Saturday lunch ($145 for 4 entrees, 2 cocktails, and extra fries...)
However, I'd recommend Acme. Lovely, attentive staff who didn't make us feel rushed out, comfortable space between tables, no noise clanging off hard surfaces (a la Smith...)
Great dinner for a special occasion. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. Loved it!!
We had a play at public theatre and acme was recommended from friends , it was close to theatre and wr really enjoyed it, food was very good and our server did a great job getting us out on time. We will def go back even if not going to the public
Always love Acme and recently discovered it's a great first date spot. Wonderful drink selection and beautiful bar. Could have stayed here all night!
Everything was perfect!
Loved the creative menu and beautiful bar.
We love the food here and until this meal the service has been flawless. Always good wine recommendations.
I think I left my "poncho" a black cape (calvin klein) just in case you have it can you take care of it until im back please :) excellent service by the way
