the food was incredibly delicious, the space is great, service was incredible, our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable. I only had 2 issues, I made a reservation for 6pm (we had a 7:30pm show), Walked in at 5:56 and was told to wait outside the restaurant...apparently they don't open the doors until 6, no, please wait by the bar, this abrupt dismissal almost had me finding another restaurant for dinner but having made the reservation through Open table, I wanted to honor that, then a delicious meal and after we paid and were finishing drinks the bus boy came by and took everything away and proceeded to wipe down the table, so clearly we were being rushed out the door...my recommendation, don't make a 6pm reservation, expect to be rushed out at the end but the food and wait staff were wonderful...so a mixed experience
Genial
Excellent food; great service: terrific atmosphere
But they made several errors during drinks and cocktails service
What a great restaurant! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed.
Great experience! Best Caesar salad
Booked a table for 8 and were told when we check in that they had another booking at 10pm, so we had 2 hours.....not the best way to start your evening but the rest was ok. Food and service were ok. Lively atmosphere but reasonable noise level to enjoy your conversation!
Excellent. Ambiance, service, and delicious and unique food!
Brought a group of my girlfriends here who were visiting from out of town - we really enjoyed it! This place has a very cool ambiance and the drinks were amazing. Our waiter was top notch - really excellent service! The food was very good and prepared well but I wasn't blown away.
Good, tasty meals but slow service. Nice wait staff, yet it took forever to get our meals out of the kitchen. We let them know when we ordered that we were in a rush to see a show, still took 40 minutes to get our meals. Be warned.
Best brick chicken in the City! I ordered the Steak Frites this time and was semi disappointed. The cut was average and too full of tendon for a steak at a restaurant like this; they should change to Hanger or Flat Iron, however, all of the accompaniment was excellent. Will definitely go back.
Tables poorly laid out: too much intimacy with neighbouring tables
Food is good, ambiance was great, service was a bit strange, we were told that we weren’t allowed to order an appetizer first and then a main course a bit later - “that the kitchen wants the full order” which resulted in us not even ordering a main course because we weren’t that hungry at that time but we probably otherwise would have.
Acme has a simple but creative menu, well-executed food and a great buzzy atmosphere. My crisp-fried artichokes with lemon ricotta, was a delicious dish and my pasta with duck ragu was excellent. All five of us enjoyed our evening here.
Food was good, nothing amazing though. Decor and ambiance were nice but service was subpar especially for the price point of this place. It took forever for anyone to come by the table throughout the meal and even before they started to get busy
Loved the atmosphere and delicious food. Staff were very nice, waiters very efficient and helpful. But the piped in music was too loud: heavy percussion and a woman singing/shouting. The speaker seemed to be right over our table. Our party of five had to strain to hear each other and speak very loudly. Asked them to turn it down. It got somewhat better later on, but it put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable evening.
This was our second visit and Acme delivered again. Great ambiance and consistently good and creative food. Super attentive service. The menu is new from a year before. Sea bass and filet mignon were outstanding.
I am sorry to say but we did not like our dinner at Acme (this time)... First, they missed a lot of menu items (wines, desserts etc) at only 9:15pm. Second, the food was not great. I took the carrots as apetizer they were almost uncooked, then the fish was good I have to say but after that we took some desserts (chocolate biscuits and cake with custard) and it was tasteless; it was hard to understand what was in the plate...
Finally, while we were still eating our desserts, the waiter came with the bill! Without asking if we needed something else ! 10min later, the other waiter asked us gently to leave, as we were holding the table too much...
Again, I feel sorry to tell this but with this price we except some quality...
We waited nearly 2 hours for our entrees and had to leave before being served because we were late for our next engagement
the service and ambiance was great but the food wasn’t worth it to me
Very limited menu. Make sure everyone can find something appealing. Pre-theater meal was fine. Good burger and steak and fries, salads. Crispy artichoke not a winner. Service attentive.
This is a wonderful and cozy spot with great food and a very friendly wait staff. The hostess is also delightful. Great food and great ambiance in a casual setting at a very good relative value. The roasted chicken was amazing. Also great vegetarian options for my dinner mates!
Acme is a good French bistro with a nice menu, well cooked and presented food, excellent service and a very pleasant ambiance. It is a great spot to have dinner before attending the Public Theater.
Food ranged from exceptional to OK. Note that this is not a kid/baby friendly place: no high chair or changing table.
The service was great. All staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
Great food and service!
The dish I ordered was so salty that I barely touched it.
Forgettable but decent Italian food. I thought the restaurant week menu was a good value but overall you're paying rent and not for amazing food.
I remember when this restaurant was a cajun restaurant and have not returned until now because of Restaurant Week. The setting was lovely and the food for the most part was excellent. I got the Restaurant Week menu and I must say I was hesitant about the description of the salad but it was an amazing mixture of texture and flavors. The pork was good but not extaordinary and the sauce only so so. The ricotta pie for desert was like nothing I'd ever had. Very good but hard to cut the crust.
My husband had a burger and he said it was the best he ever had as was his pasta appetizer.
Good place to bring a group of friends. Food pretty good, sometimes live music.
Nice vibe, very good food, young hip crowd, except for the person next to us starring at a laptop for the whole meal.
Not impressed at all, one friend had to send his main back and the waiter did not even look surprised. We visited on a Friday night and it was not busy at all which should have been a signal, no ambiance whatsoever! Major updates needed on the menu for this spot to survive.
Our server was not the most attentive, maybe because the tip is automatically included with larger groups and we had a group of 8. The restaurant has a nice vibe, trendy and romantic.
I have seen the restaurant been there for a long time, we take advantage of the restaurant week price fix & tried, it doesn’t disappoint, good food & comfortable environment, can be quite noisy when restaurant is full
Beautiful restaurant, lovely staff, be prepared to squeeze in as the place is very popular but well worth it! The risotto and Salmon are absolutely delicious! Will definitely come back again.
Terribly disappointing experience. Hopefully a one off and not a trend but nothing was done well by the restaurant.
The chicken was undercooked to the point of being pink and raw inside. The breading of it as well as the salmon tasted like they dumped half the salt shaker into it. The soup contained cilantro which was not listed on the menu.
To top things off, the server physically bumped into me every single time he went to the adjacent table and offered no apologies or even awareness of his offense.
Amazing Steak tartare, duck ragu, and risotto.
The service and atmosphere were fantastic. We went early (6:30pm on a Friday) and the place started empty but filled up while we were there. I enjoyed the quieter, earlier half of our meal more, because we were there as much for conversation as for food.
The three of us each ordered our standard entree at every restaurant: filet medium rare, salmon, and risotto. The two women who ordered the salmon and risotto declared them the best they’ve ever had at any restaurant, and my filet was easily in the top 3. The flavors were incredible, and everything was perfectly seasoned. PS: I subbed the broccoli for the potatoes. Highly recommended.
While the food was very well cooked and the menu unique, the service was really lacking. They were not attentive to their guests, they messed up the order which took them a while to fix, and it felt as though they did not care about your meals. Nobody even did as much as smile when saying hello during the meal.
For the price of the dinner, I would not recommend it. There are thousands of other restaurants that are more deserving of your money.
