we got the pitcher of sangria, my mom loved her crepe dish, my friend got a shrimp dish she enjoyed, I got a mole chicken dish that I would not recommend there was no hint of chocolate at all and the general flavor was not a big deal, the rice was pretty simple but the corn on the cobb was amazing and the desserts were very good, several people were having birthdays and they did a little singing, also they have deals with the regent theatre and I would definitely suggest that, despite the food I would not get again I would go back and are waitress was great and they were constantly filling are water
I went to Acitron for brunch two celebrate the birthdays of two of my friends. The restaurant is somewhat small, but they accommodated our group of seven really well. The service and food were both great, and the prices were reasonable. I definitely recommend!
Delicious, authentic Mexican food. Well prepared. Friendly staff.
food was pleasant with an orange spiced meat in the burrito i gad. chips were warm. price very reasonable. open space- so can be noisey. service attentive. nice place. probably will return
Acitron is our go to Mexican restaurant! Food is excellent, quality is awesome, service is great and it’s convenient. We especially like the homemade guacamole and the red sangria. Highly recommend this place.
Delicious food, excellent service. Our reservation was for 6 pm Saturday and the restaurant was packed, but our table for 3 was waiting and we did not feel rushed. The very high noise level and close proximity of tables to each other (it's a small place) kept it from being a 5-star meal.
Great tasting food and awesome gluten free options.
Outstanding. I met a group of friends at Acitron on a busy night and we were well catered to and not hurried in the least. Plus the cuisine is delicious!
We enjoyed this restaurant. I was too busy talking with friends to notice the food that much, so I would say it was good enough, but not superb (which would have made me notice). The margaritas were good, but mostly ice, so ended up ordering two (which I wouldn't normally have done). It was crowded, so it took a little time for the waitress to come over to take our order. We made reservations and the table was ready on time, in spite of the crowd. The drinks took a little longer to get than was ideal, but the food came relatively quickly after we placed our order. I would go back.
Well prepared, fresh ingredients - will definitely recommend, and return.
The Mole Poblano was incredible
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Arlington, the food is excellent and the staff is always warm and welcoming. We had a special treat last week because it was the 7 year anniversary of opening, the owner shared stories, and we all toasted with a shot of tequila.
Great upgrade to typical Mexican food. Better tasting, more interesting dishes, nicer ambience, etc. than a Border Cafe or Jose's (although I like those places also). We had a queso appetizer, fried avocado appetizer and entrees of many tacos (Taco Tuesday!), chile rellenos, and a few dishes I can't recall the name, and all were excellent. Nice staff and servicing. Recommended!
Wonderful food and great service after a very busy day.
Acitrón is a favorite of ours! We hadn't been by in a while, but had a wonderful Sunday brunch for our party of four, two vegetarians and two celebrating birthdays. Huevos Divorciados, Omelet Mexicana, fresh guacamole, and more. Delicious!
Was there for Sunday brunch. It was ok but I prefer dinners. Dinner there is wonderful
Good food, food took forever to come out though
We’ve been to Acitron several times. The food is always excellent and well priced. Saturday is very busy so we were glad we had reservations
Love the food and the great service!! Thank you!!!
It was really good. One dish was over done. I will go back. The food is unique and authentic. Way better than chain or usual Mexican restaurants.
We have been here twice now and the food and service has been outstanding.
A lovely restaurant that makes you feel like you’re a guest in the owner’s home. Excellent, authentic Mexican cuisine - not greasy or mass produced. High quality presentation and ingredients, precise attention to detail, and unmatched service.
Love this place. In my hood. And they found my gloves and kept them for 4 weeks till I returned....seriously, who does that? xoxoxoxoxoxo
We love Acitron! It is truly authentic and takes me back to my time living in Cuernavaca!
Two friends and I had what can charitably be described as a baffling meal. We went for a birthday brunch on Super Bowl Sunday -- not dinner, during game time, but brunch. There were only two other tables with customers, so we expected great service, but the opposite was true.
It looked like there were 3 employees on duty: our very sweet server, a woman who may or may not have been the bartender (sometimes she was behind the bar; sometimes she was at the bar, on her phone) and a man in the kitchen.
We thought it was taking a surprisingly long time for our drinks to come, but they did. We thought our guacamole order had been forgotten, but then it showed up -- and was really good. We half-joked that the pre-game show must be pretty good, b/c what else would explain the delays?
Two of us ordered eggs benedict. Our potatoes were cold while our poached eggs were overcooked, more like hard-boiled eggs without the shells. The dish was quite good, but c'mon -- eggs benedict means runny egg yolk for more flavor.
The third person was served a dish other than what she ordered, but she kept it b/c she really liked it. By now we wondered what the heck was (or was not) going on in the kitchen.
After waiting around some more (with no other customers in the restaurant by now), our server finally re-appeared with a small scoop of ice cream with whipped cream out of a can (OK, it was free ) + the bartender with a big sombrero for the birthday girl. They sang "happy birthday" while our friend smiled gamely (OK, nice gesture). But it was awkward as they left b/c the bartender was laughing hysterically. The birthday girl couldn't help but wonder if she was being laughed at.
All in all, good food that should have been even better, with inexplicably bad service.
A really great local Mexican restaurant.
Very tasty food and nice service.
The margaritas were good too.
We went for a birthday celebration and discovered it was Margarita night. Excellent drinks! Food was pretty good too. They sang Happy Birthday to my son and brought out our cake. Many people sang along so my song was very happy.
The meal was fine, but very disappointed that host did not acknowledge my birthday even though it was included in the reservation notes.
Loved the food and the service!! It was great!
Went there for a birthday, the food was delicious. the drinks were freshly made and came out right away. food was good- i got the tacos (taco tuesdays, $3). :)
I always enjoy eating here. The food is consistently good... Mexican with a bit of an upscale twist. Their margaritas are fantastic and the service is always excellent with friendly, attentive wait staff. My date and I sat around talking until just before closing, well after the check was paid and everyone left. They didn't bother us at all, which we appreciated.
HOLY MOLEY What a Mole'
Acitron is a great local gem that provides innovative Mexican cuisine at a reasonable price with attentive, friendly staff, and a nice cozy vibe. We were there for my son's 8th birthday prior to a Regent Theater show on a Friday night. Although they don't have a "kids menu", they were very accomodating in finding something that worked for our son....The Guacamole was delicious and fresh, and I'm a Mole' freak and they make a great Mole'. My ex wife's Poblano Chile Rellenos were delicious for her. The drinks were reasonable....and the flan was a favorite of our son.
My friend and I had the tamel de chocolate
We love it!! Great food and drinks!! Thank you!!
I just love Acitron. Most authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. The mole takes me back to some of the small eateries I visited throughout Mexico
The food was so-so. One of the sides for my order was wrong and the corn on the cob was cold.
The tres leche cake was not as good as usual (we dined there for the past two NYE).
My wife and I have gone every New Year's Eve for the past several years and have never been disappointed. The food, drinks, and service are always excellent.
Mexican food at a whole new level. . . There is guacamole and fajitas for those who must have them, but venture beyond these staples to some of the chef's authentic creations like moles, Chile's rellenos, and lots more. . . Adventurous taste buds will be well rewarded!
We visited this warm, colorful place on a bitterly cold December night after seeing a movie at the Capitol Theater a mile down the road. I loved my CAMARONES CON SALSA CILANTRO: succulent, flavorful shrimp on a bed of spinach with a salsa on top prepared from roasted tomatillo, cilantro, jalapeño, onion and garlic. The beans and rice on the side were just fine, with the pinto beans neatly confined inside a small, boat-shaped serving dish. My husband enjoyed the CHILES EN NOGADA: poblano pepper stuffed with savory ground beef and topped with a delicious and unusual sauce of cream cheese with nuts. Drinks were fresh and tart. We'll be back. Next time I want to try the shrimp a la diabla.
Third time eating here...very friendly staff...the food was outstanding and close to home!
