Acitron Cocina Mexicana Ratings and Reviews
Had a delicious dinner with another couple. Staff was wonderful. I had 2 pomegranate margaritas that were excellent. Not sure how the noise level part of the rating system works, but despite being full, the restaurant never felt loud. Have been recommending to all my friends.
We always like Acitron, returning with friends. My friends liked everything they ordered - chili rellenos, chicken mole, etc. I opted for the salmon, that should have been a no-brainer. Alas, it was probably previously frozen and way over-cooked; too dry to eat. A disappointment.
One of my favorite places to bring an out-of-town visitor. The menu is just the right size, having enough options yet not overwhelming.
The service is wonderful. Attentive but not overwhelming. Always happy to explain and advise, and they were very gracious in correcting a misunderstanding in a prior visit.
PS- if you're unsure about sides, get the corn (elote). So good.
Delicious and very obliging. The quesadillas surtidas were outstanding; the carne adobado melt-in-your-mouth. Schedule limitations meant we were going to have to arrive not much before closing, but I was assured on the phone it would be fine, and it was. Great service, pleasant atmosphere. This is one of our new go-to places.
Have enjoyed Acitron for several years, but was disappointed this time. The margaritas were not as good and the food not as high quality as in the past. We had to send the margaritas back to be remade, but they still were not good. The enchiladas were cold and the first basket of chips we got were stale. The service was very good; we had an excellent waiter. Atmosphere still lively! Hope things change as we really have loved this place!
I've been to Actitron for dinner several times in the last few months; Saturday was my first brunch there and it won't be my last. On the recommendation of our server I tried the Chilaquiles, and I was very glad I did, the dish was fabulous. A refreshing peach bellini (and great friends) put this brunch over the top. I believe our server's name was Adriana, and she was wonderful, but that's no surprise because everyone that I've met there has always been delightful and helpful.
Acitron is my new favorite Mexican restaurant! Their guacamole is FABULOUS. The friend I dined with can't eat cilantro, and the chef very kindly left it out of our guac; I missed it, but it was still delicious. The margaritas are sensational, and I've been steadily working my way through the margarita menu. Love the special on Thursday nights - all margaritas $7! Ladies Night (Monday) is a great value as well, a three-course dinner and margarita for $25. And finally, I don't usually have dessert when I eat out, but the Tres Leches cake is to die for!!! So so yummy, and very share-able.
Food was very good and excellent service. The server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. Nice ambiance and decor. Since it was a weeknight it was quiet enough to carry on a conversation. I would go back and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys authentic Mexican cuisine.
Our very favorite Mexican restaurant in all of Massachusetts. The food is incredible, and the staff is always very warm, friendly, and attentive. The margaritas are delicious, too. This is our favorite place to take friends. Great for birthdays. Never disappointed. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner on weekends as the walk-in wait can be quite long.
Very good food! And a great value -- didn't realize that Monday is "Ladies Night" -- skinny margarita, appetizer, entree (from the full/regular menu) and dessert for $25 - what a deal! The restaurant was nearly full when we arrived at 7pm, and there was a short wait by 7:30. The entire restaurant clapped along as the waitstaff (and a recording) sang Happy Birthday and presented a small cake (and sombrero for photo op) to a patron. Fun.
Had a great dinner at Acitron Cocina Mexicana on Friday night. It was busy but we had made a reservation shortly before leaving the house, and we were seated right away. Chips and salsa were soon delivered and we were off to a good start. Our waiter was terrific, polite and informative. We each had a margarita while waiting for our entrees, and they were very good. They have a nice selection of tequilas, any of which can be had straight up, on the rocks, or in a margarita. The margaritas are made with fresh juices, not a pre-made mix. For dinner we each had fajitas; my wife had shrimp and I had chicken. Both were great -- plenty of food and very tasty. We enjoyed everything about our visit -- the food, the service, the pace. We look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu.
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the Boston area. This food is always amazing, and the staff is always warm and attentive. The very friendly owner/head chef is originally from Mexico, and she takes great pride in bringing authentic cuisine to her menu - everything from her grandmother's old recipes to her own more modern creations. The desserts are incredible, too. Make sure you make a reservation in advance on Friday's and Saturday's.
I go to Acitron Cocina often. It never fails to please. However, I do need to warn those used to "Tex Mex," this is an actual Mexican restaurant, not Tex Mex. It's authenticity is part of the reason I love it (my Mexican friends actually introduced me to it), but a few friends have been surprised that the offerings are a bit different than at Tex Mex places.
