Did grand tasting with wine pairing. Easily on par with Michelin Star tastings we have done.
This was our second visit, this time for my wife’s birthday. The food and service were both wonderful. Might be our favorite spot in the area.
The menu was extensive, the choices were simple, not fussy. Unlike a lot of restaurants that "try too hard" with their combinations, Acero's combinations were concise.
Our server was knowledgeable and offered suggestions. Starting with the bread through the end of the meal, all of our choices were delicious and beautifully presented. My friend and I vowed that we would not wait so long to return.
Acero continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in STL. Their 40$ prix fixe for 4 courses is an outstanding value, particularly for the high quality of food you get.
Our service was so good and the server (sadly I forgot his name) was quick to answer questions and provide recommendations on wine. He was attentive but not overbearing.
I think the tagliolini with mushrooms (sprung for the black trumpets) is perhaps my favorite single thing I've ever had here. Will continue to come back and recommend to friends.
It was our 25th wedding anniversary and the staff made it a very special night. Adam, Andy and thw whole team have something very special at Acero!
It was great
This was our first time dining out at Acero and we will definitely be back! The four course tasting menu was recommended to us by a handful of people and it was a great choice. When given the opportunity, I'll always agree to try many dishes opposed to one and appreciated that the portions were nicely sized. Some standouts were the gnocco fritto which can be accurately described as prosciutto beignets. The egg raviolo was INCREDIBLE! My husband ordered this dish as part of his and I immediately regretted not getting it. The sea scallops as part of the entree were delectable and both the panna cotta and lemon cheesecake for dessert were spot on. I can't submit the review without acknowledging the service. Our waiter was attentive and was thorough in his recommendations. I look forward to visiting again!
First time dining at Acero. Overall the food was good. We did the 4-course tasting with a 2oz meat and cheese tray to start. The meat and cheese tray was really great. Would highly recommend. The beet salad and deserts were also very good. My husband and I were very disappointed with the pasta because it was over cooked (mushy).
This place is delicious! We discovered it about a month ago and the food is outstanding. All of the staff is very friendly and can answer any questions you may have!
Superb service and delicious food! We will be back!
The food was delicious. We were 10 minutes late for our reservation due to traffic, but we felt rushed by our server. The noise level made it difficult for conversation. We were seated next to a group of women celebrating an occasion. We will definitely go again and perhaps ask for a table in the back where it might be quieter.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in St. Louis. The food is spectacular, I've always had great service and the tasting menu is a really great deal!
A+ service and food.
It's one of those places you can take an out-of-town friend and be guaranteed a great dining experience. We had great food and a wonderful waitress. We had a slight wait for a table but that wasn't a problem during the high volume time of the evening. I would have no problem returning to Acero.
We had such an amazing time before we headed off to see a show at The Fox! We chose the 4 course tasting menu and what a great decision that was! The chef came out to talk to us and we were so impressed of his friendliness and explaining our charcuterie board to us. He came back over for us to tell him the Bleu cheese was the BEST we had ever eaten! Ask if they have Rogue River Creamery Bleu cheese and if so put it on your board! I had the crespelle, spaghetti alla chitarra...wonderful flavor, california halibut which melted in my mouth and the caramel panna cotta! My husband had the insalata mista that HE LOVED, tagliolini which had a very rich olive oil base, sea scallops and lemon cheesecake. We WILL be back!
Everything was wonderful! First time there and won’t be the last!
Acero never disappoints. I literally dream about their Egg Raviolio. They always have great seasonal offerings. Everything is made fresh.
My wife’s birthday fell on Wednesday this year and I wanted a nice dinner. We’ve had good luck in the past at Acero, but I would put a number of other places in the same high caliber. Anyway I picked Acero this time and I’m writing this because the dinner was outstanding. I hardly ever write reviews, but we walked feeling like this warranted mention. We had the tasting menu: 4 smaller courses and all were superb: I loved the beet salad, the crudo appetizer, tagliolini mushroom pasta, and the halibut. My wife enjoyed the butternut squash soup (nightly special), the crespelle veggie appetizer, the nightly ravioli special, a beef tenderloin entre. Although the food was spot on, I think what made the night great was our server, Tom. He was attentive without being intrusive, and truly informative about the food and the wine. This was the best restaurant dining experience I’ve enjoyed in over a year.
Our meal was wonderful! Creative beautiful food! The mushroom tagliolini is my favorite pasta. The salad with blue cheese was delicious too. We all had either the halibut or sea scallops for our entrees—yummy! Service was exceptional and the atmosphere is so comfy. The tasting menu is a great deal with an opportunity to try several dishes. This was our third visit—alnd we’ll be back!
First visit and it won’t be our last! Enjoyed cocktails at the bar before trying a 4 course tasting menu. The food was great (we especially liked the beet salad, the semolina gnocchi, the lamb shank). Ingredients were fresh, the preparation was not too heavy and the portions just right. From the hostess to the bartenders to the wait staff, everyone was friendly and professional.
We loved the tasting menu and shared with one another. EVERYthing was delicious! It made for a nice evening out!
Everything we ordered we delicious, and the service was great
Fiala Foods provide us with both of our go-to restaurants for dates and special occasions. We love Acero and The Crossing, in part because the tasting menus work well for our appetites and are so much fun. We enjoy Acero especially for the nouveau Italian food. Great chefs. Otherworldly desserts. Our waiter, Tom, helped us this time with wine selection and was especially attentive. Wonderful experience!
This place is ok, but not elegant or fit for a special ocassion. Service is friendly and professional. Food is average, didn’t amaze me. Who knows, maybe I had higher expectations of a more upscale place.
Innovative, fresh, delicious menu. Good value tasting options. Lovely service. Nice ambience but noisy. Good cocktails!
Andy was our server and he was excellent. Food was incredible. We did the tasting menu.
Great food. Inventive combinations and sides, wonderful cocktails. Helpful friendly service, nice interior. Fish and pasta were amazing. Great limoncello cheesecake...light as air.
Acero is one of the only places in STL to get refined real Italian. Food is consistently spot on (try the gnocco fritto!), admirable all Italian wine list and amero selection. The staff is friendly and helpful, and generally give off the impression that they enjoy working there. The tasting menu is a great deal as well.
We have an awesome meal last weekend. The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and the food was absolutely delicious. All of his recommendations were perfect. We will return in the near future!!!
It was absolutely fantastic! Can not say enough about how great of a dinner we had!
We all ordered the four-course tasting menu, which allows you to order any four dishes on the menu or among the daily specials. The portions are a bit smaller, The tasting menu option is a very good value and allows you great flexibility when ordering dinner.
Great restaurant, we will return soon.
Best meal I’ve had there, and it’s a regular place for us- probably been there 50 times.
Hosting an out-of-town guest. Couldn't have asked for a better experience or introduction to St Louis.
Excellent food. Whenever we have guests in town, we love to bring them to Acero.
Acero has never let us down. It is always a good evening with wonderful food and drink.
One of the finest restaurants in St Louis! Chef Adam Gnau flat out throws down flavors and unbelievable food each time we dine at Acero. Kudos to the entire staff who are warm and hospitable. You can’t go wrong dining at Acero!
Always wonderful in every way!
Fantastic as always. Adam and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and have never steered us wrong. One of the best dining experiences in St Louis
Acero has been my favorite restaurant in St. Louis for a couple of years now. This last visit was a little disappointing. I was happy to see the restaurant was full with customers enjoying their evening, but perhaps because it was so crowded the service was a little slow. I was sorry to see my favorite salad was no longer on the menu (Bibb lettuce with chick peas), but I did enjoy the beet salad. My taglioine pasta with mushrooms was a little on the gummy side, and my scallops tasted a little rubbery. I love the prix fix menu and hope that perhaps this was just an off night and an unusual exception to Acero's usual high quality.
Acero is in a league of its own! Try the cheese and salami plate, easily the best in the city! You literally cannot go wrong with any of their pasta dishes!
Great service soup and salads were so tasty. Will definitely go back we had an awesome waitress really on the ball
