Acero Ratings and Reviews
Our meal was wonderful! Creative beautiful food! The mushroom tagliolini is my favorite pasta. The salad with blue cheese was delicious too. We all had either the halibut or sea scallops for our entrees—yummy! Service was exceptional and the atmosphere is so comfy. The tasting menu is a great deal with an opportunity to try several dishes. This was our third visit—alnd we’ll be back!
Fiala Foods provide us with both of our go-to restaurants for dates and special occasions. We love Acero and The Crossing, in part because the tasting menus work well for our appetites and are so much fun. We enjoy Acero especially for the nouveau Italian food. Great chefs. Otherworldly desserts. Our waiter, Tom, helped us this time with wine selection and was especially attentive. Wonderful experience!
Acero is one of the only places in STL to get refined real Italian. Food is consistently spot on (try the gnocco fritto!), admirable all Italian wine list and amero selection. The staff is friendly and helpful, and generally give off the impression that they enjoy working there. The tasting menu is a great deal as well.
We all ordered the four-course tasting menu, which allows you to order any four dishes on the menu or among the daily specials. The portions are a bit smaller, The tasting menu option is a very good value and allows you great flexibility when ordering dinner.
Great restaurant, we will return soon.
Acero has been my favorite restaurant in St. Louis for a couple of years now. This last visit was a little disappointing. I was happy to see the restaurant was full with customers enjoying their evening, but perhaps because it was so crowded the service was a little slow. I was sorry to see my favorite salad was no longer on the menu (Bibb lettuce with chick peas), but I did enjoy the beet salad. My taglioine pasta with mushrooms was a little on the gummy side, and my scallops tasted a little rubbery. I love the prix fix menu and hope that perhaps this was just an off night and an unusual exception to Acero's usual high quality.
Love Acero. Food consistently good - the gnocco fritto is amazing, salads fresh and interesting, pastas wonderful, especially the chittara and the mushroom pasta. We go often and always enjoy it. Chef Adam is always front of house, spends time with each guest and is really interested in one's feedback. Love Acero!
I love Acero. It is truly one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis. The food is always yummy and the staff is open and friendly. A couple of our dishes were not as warm as we thought they should have been, but it was very busy and the staff were running as fast as they could! Love to sit at the bar and chat with the staff. I always learn fun things and find them to be very engaging. Thanks for a great evening!
My husband and I love going to Acero, usually for special occasions, and we're never disappointed!! Mandy has frequently been our server, and we love her! She's friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and is able to make great suggestions based on what you like. The food is always delicious, and we love the atmosphere!!
We love Acero but on this occasion we did the Grand Tasting menu. Everything was delicious! We had two people in our party with food allergies and they graciously accommodated their food requirements. Although, some of the dishes had to be altered no one felt they weren't getting a surperb meal. Recommend splitting the wine pairings with dinner. Generous pours and definitely enough for two. Great idea for a special occasion.
Always very good food. Waited almost 30 minutes at the bar past reso time of 830. Then waited nearly fifteen minutes at table before server appeared. Very complacent about the wait time, not apologetic. Steak undercooked. Adam brought it back, not overly apologetic either.
Will visit again, just not great this time.
