WE were in the back room, which fit our party well - larger tables, away from the bustle up front. Fun rock and roll background music, thankfully not too loud, at least in the back. But the high point is the food - really excellent and innovative sushi/sashimi. The fish is all incredibly fresh tasting. The variety on the menu is very broad. A little expensive, but my grandson can eat A LOT of sushi! We have eaten at several, and this is definitely the GO TO place for sushi in the Marina and beyond. Worth every penny!
The fish was great. Very fresh and delicious. Melts in your mouth. We sat in the back, which was fine except that there is a door to the outside and it seems to be close to the garbage, so when it was opened, the smell was unpleasant...
Last, after we were sat, they announced that for parties they have a 2 to 2:15 hours dinner time limit. That should be advertised on the site.
It took 25 minutes to get the drinks we ordered and they forgot to bring us one of our rolls
Went here for my birthday dinner and it was amazing! The hosts were very accommodating and so nice! The food was delicious and will definitely be coming back
I love the happy hour deals and overall service. Perfect for casual dining or a birthday.
This restaurant was AMAZING. Best sushi I have ever had and the staff was very nice and accommodating (specifically one of the cooks, Will). Would recommend to anyone who likes sushi and is visiting San Francisco.
Your food and your service is amazing but your hostess is nice and accommodating she made the entire experience better!
Coming back soon!
One of my favorites Japanese restaurants in town!!!
We are regulars... sushi is always fine, this time it was outstanding- service was the worst
Sushi shouldn't be cheap, but this place is overpriced
Delicious and creative rolls. The back room is good for a large party, but can get get quite loud. Not a good place if you want to have a conversation. The nigiri are fine, but not special for the price.
Server was incredibly rude
Great rolls and good value! This is a great place to go with a group of friends - the atmosphere is fun and lively. Many young people are here before going out on a Friday or Saturday. Enjoyed it!
Great food. We loved it. Definitely worthwile going there. Best Sushi in town. We will come back.
5 star Sushi restaurant in each and every category... amazing Maki creations, top service, ABSOLUTE RECOMMENDATION!!!
No complaints about the food. It was quite expensive, but then good sushi usually is. We were crammed in the back room with no windows and lots of loud drunk people. It was not a pleasant eating environment. For this reason I would not recommend nor would I go back. It is definitely a scene for 20 somethings who want to party.
This is good sushi in a lively environment. The service is good and friendly . I came with a group of girlfriends and we enjoyed it. It is not quiet, but we easily could hear ourselves.
Ace Wasabi is always so much fun and the food is even better! Made the reservation for a birthday and had the best time!
Really fun, great happy hour! Good for groups and they take reservations. Will be back for sure!
Great food and service, an absolute delightful experience. Went there for a birthday dinner with a group of friends. We got a terrific table in the back, private. That was terrific, food was delicious and service was impeccable. Really enjoyed my experience.
The waitress was batty, our table was right next to the door and workers were going in and out throughout our dinner, there was a crying baby the entire time. It was not a relaxing family dinner.
Excellent meal and happy hour offers were such good value. The waitress was on top form too!
Love this place. Our server was fun and engaging. The sushi was amazing. A little too much tempura on the menu for me. Great night!
Too loud! Spoiled great food
Went with a large group and was seated in the back. We ordered several things to share with the entire table and each ordered individual rolls. The food was great and our server was really awesome. However, we had to wait an incredibly long time for our food to come out and they did not arrive together so those who were served first had to wait a really long time before eating. One of our friends literally got his sushi roll when we were done eating and ate really quickly so we can get the check. Another odd thing was we each ordered individual rolls but two rolls kept being served on the same plate so one person had to move their sushi onto their own appetizer plate. They did apologize for the food taking so long and it turned out to be quite good so I'm hoping they just had an off day.
LOVE strong for this spot for many many reasons.
1. Love their quinoa and no rice roll options
2. FUN FUN atmosphere! They play the bestt rap/hip hop.
3. Awesome service!
3. Fab location
As a party of ten, we made a last minute reservation looking for a fun place for sushi and this turned out to be a great choice. Sushi was as I would expect for San Francisco - fresh, tasty and presented well, but the service was what put the experience over the top. We were the last table of the night for them and they didn't rush us and kept the drinks flowing. Great place, fun atmosphere (if a tad too loud) and good food all around.
Food was really good and about the only reason I'd ever consider going back. Service was terrible and an insult when your server apologizes for being busy when you can clearly see open tables and watch her take saki bomb after saki bomb with the party two tables away.
It look our waitress 20 minutes to greet us and then another 30 minutes to bring our first round of drinks, Saki and beer - how hard could it be to open up bottles? We had to remind our waitress about our order. She just blamed the bartender who was taking care of "customer relations" - whatever that means. Aren't we customers?? This was all happening while we watched all the waitresses and bartenders take shots with other tables.
The food was correct, but of course delivered late. It took so long to get a round of drinks that we would order two rounds at a time.. that still didn't help. The waitress brought free Saki to ease the tension, but ended up drinking it with us.
Finally, as the night was ended the waitress gave us a heads up that the kitchen was closing. We declined any more food, but asked that she let us know when the bar was closing because we may want to order 1 more round. Without giving her the green light to order another round she just shows up with more drinks. When we all explain that we didn't order the round, no one did, she became defensive and claimed that since the bottle were already opened we had to pay for them.. $280 NOT worth paying. Not a great experience at all...
Came here with a group of girlfriends and not only was the service excellent (we had Marley as our server), the food was delicious, the happy hour specials were super awesome, and they accommodated our group by putting us in a back room with larger seating so we could have fun without disrupting other diners. We went for bingo but missed it, but that didn't put a damper on our night! Overall the experience was great!
Our server Erika was amazing! She assisted us with choosing sushi rolls, wine and sake shots!
The food here is absolutely amazing. The BEST sushi I have ever had. Very creative combinations on rolls, apps were delicious...all around GREAT experience. The atmosphere is very upbeat, loud music, but great selections/play list. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Great food! Our favorite was the ahi tuna tostadas. Service was excellent our waitress was Daniella and she was so sweet and gave great recommendations!
